Abstract

Wonocolo Village is known as a traditional mining area. This study aims to determine the level of soil contamination in traditional oil mining activities by testing N, P, K, organic matter and lime content of the soil. The method used in this research is using a proposive random sampling method. The results of testing the quality of soil in mining activities were found not to contain N,P,K. This can be seen when testing using N,P,K solutions, there was no change in soil color, organic matter and soil lime content when testing on 7 soil samples. only 2 soil samples contained organic matter and soil lime content, namely the 3rd and 7th samples. This can be seen from the presence of foam on the soil samples when dripped with H2O2 and HCL solutions. So it can be concluded that the soil in the Wonocolo mining area is highly polluted, so it is necessary to carry out bioremediation and phytoremediation the quality of soil in mining activities were found not to contain N,P,K. Abstract

Indonesia is a country that is prone to natural disasters from a geological perspective. Based on information from the Head of the Information Data Center and Public Relations of the National Disaster Management Agency, natural disaster trends have increased by 350% in the last three decades. A significant increase is hydrometeorological disasters which are influenced by weather aspects, such as floods, landslides, tornadoes, and droughts. Sumbawa Regency is one of the areas in Indonesia that is being hit by an increasing trend of natural disasters. The most recent natural disaster that hit one of the Sumbawa Regency areas was the flood disaster in Empang District. The cause of flooding itself can occur due to various things both natural and human. Floods can be caused by natural events such as rainfall over a long period of time, soil flooding leaving only rocks, and no water absorption. Therefore it is essential to analyze the flood disaster that occurred in Empang District so that a good environmental management strategy can be carried out. The management carried out is to restore environmental functions that have been lost due to damage caused by the disaster. Installing drainage and implementing the Internet of Things in overcoming flooding is considered to be quite effective. The relocation and reclamation activities of corn plantation areas carried out by bioremediation and revegetation processes can improve land conditions.

Abstract

Indonesia is the 4th most populous country in the world. The main factors influencing the high rate of urban population growth are urbanization and migration. This condition causes an increase in the amount of waste generation, whether solid, liquid or gas waste. Therefore, efforts are needed to manage and process waste generation, one of which is composting. Composting is a form of reuse and recovery of resources from solid waste by decomposing organic matter with the help of organisms. One of the organisms that can be used as a waste decomposition agent is the Black Soldier Fly larvae. The composting process requires several requirements to produce good quality compost, namely the content of macro nutrients, namely N, P, K. This research was conducted on 3 February – 2 March 2022 at the Sahabat Alam Waste Bank (SAWB) Kp. Apar, South Pariaman, Pariaman City, West Sumatra. Sample testing was carried out at the Chemistry Laboratory of FMIPA UNP using the levels of Nitrogen (N) (Kjehdahl Method), Phosphorus (P) and Potassium (K) (X-Ray Fluorescence Method). The quality of N, P, K solid compost obtained from this study was nitrogen levels 6.09% (S.Week 1) and 9.324%, phosphorus levels 8.113% (S.Week 1) and 6.176% (S.Week 2), and 29.759% (S.Week 1) and 38.181% (S. .Week 2) for potassium levels.

Abstract

Wastewater originating from industry varies greatly depending on the type of industry. Industrial wastewater usually contains many toxic and dangerous chemical compounds (B3) and contains heavy metals. Heavy metals are pollutants that have dangerous effects because they cannot be broken down biologically and stable. Heavy metal elements can be distributed on the earth's surface in water, soil and air. Heavy metal waste pollution containing lead (Pb) is a problem for current environmental conditions. Heavy metals are found in almost all types of industrial waste. The increasing number of industries will cause increased pollution of water sources originating from industrial waste. . Therefore, effective and efficient methods are needed to manage lead-contaminated water. Methods that are easy to apply, low cost and environmentally friendly are highly desirable for managing lead-contaminated water so that the concept of good mining practice can be applied to sustainable development. The most efficient and effective method applied for mining waste management is the phytoremediation method. The results of the research state that several plants have a significant and efficient effect in helping the absorption of the metal lead (Pb) contained in water. Great Duckweed (Spirodela Polyrhiza) and Water Hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) are plants that are suitable for implementing phytoremediation methods in managing water contaminated with lead (Pb).

Abstract

Construction waste is a threat to the community environment and living creatures around construction projects. It is necessary to handle construction waste appropriately considering that not all materials can be used 100% during the construction process. Construction waste causes hazardous chemical contamination which is the result of a number of hazardous chemicals being applied to building materials, or the discharge of chemicals in the construction and demolition waste stream. This research aims to apply the 3R principle (Reduse, Reuse and Recycle) contained in the Responsible Waste Management Hierarchy structure. Case study of the Tuumburuni Market development project in Fakfak Regency. Tumburuni Market is the first modern market built in Fakfak Regency and has become a role model for other construction projects. Good waste management in the construction process will reduce the impact on the environment. The research method uses survey and interview methods. The data obtained is explained in data tabulation and described based on the Waste Management Hierarchy theory. Research results show that as many as 80% of consumable materials go through a reuse process before finally being thrown away. Meanwhile, 20% of wood waste is not used because it is broken and unfit for use.

Abstract

Sungai Lulut sub-district is one of the sub-districts within the East Banjarmasin sub-district, Banjarmasin City. Most of the daily activities of the river border communities in this sub-district consist of market and shop activities. It is thought that population density and the rise of trade activities can affect the cleanliness of rivers. At least two types of waste were found on the river border of Sungai Lulut Village, East Banjarmasin District, namely domestic waste and commercial waste. There are indications of a relationship between community activity groups and efforts to deal with waste and rubbish, thus showing their influence on community efforts to maintain river cleanliness. It is also indicated that the age and education level of the community are influencing factors, as can be seen from the student-level community groups whose involvement is relatively low in efforts to deal with waste to keep the river clean.
