Abstract

This study aims to understand how UIN Walisongo Semarang students who identify as indigo adjust to their situations. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, the research involved three individuals living in Semarang. Interview questions were designed based on Schneiders’ self-adjustment characteristics. Data were collected through observations and interviews, with source triangulation to ensure data validity.Findings reveal that some indigo students adjust well, while others face difficulties. The first factor affecting self-adjustment is the strength of their indigo abilities; those with stronger abilities tend to have more trouble adjusting. The second factor is parenting. This study highlights the need for further research on the indigo phenomenon in Indonesia, where little scholarly attention has been given. Understanding these factors can help support indigo individuals in coping with their unique challenges.

Abstract

Adolescence is a phase where individuals are required to live optimally, including adolescents with physical disabilities. This qualitative case study aims to describe the dynamics of husnuzan among high-achieving adolescents with disabilities and the influencing factors. However, this attitude sometimes experiences cognitive and affective dynamics that affect their daily behavior. Abstract

This study aimed to examine the influence of impulsive buying and self-regulation on debt behavior among university students who use ShopeePayLater. The research employed a quantitative approach with a survey method. The sample consisted of 322 ShopeePayLater users from UIN Antasari Banjarmasin, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using scales for impulsive buying, self-regulation, and debt behavior, and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results indicated that impulsive buying and self-regulation simultaneously have a significant effect on debt behavior with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R^2) was 0.264, indicating that these two variables jointly explain 26.4% of the variance in debt behavior among ShopeePayLater users.

Abstract

Adolescents in orphanages are prone to psychological difficulties, making resilience an essential capacity. Gratitude is considered an internal factor that supports resilience. This study aimed to examine the correlation between gratitude and resilience among orphanage adolescents in Surakarta City. Using a quantitative approach and total sampling technique, 81 participants were involved. Two adaptation scales were applied: the Connor Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC 25; 24 items, α=0.940) and the Gratitude Resentment Appreciation Test-Short Form (GRAT-SF; 10 items, α=0.851). Data analysis employed simple linear regression, which revealed a significant positive correlation between gratitude and resilience, with F calc > F table (16.299 > 3.962), correlation coefficient (R) = 0.414, and p < 0.001. Gratitude contributed 17.1% to resilience formation. These findings confirm the hypothesis that gratitude positively influences resilience, suggesting that cultivating gratitude can strengthen psychological adaptability in orphanage adolescents facing life challenges.

Abstract

Environmental issues are increasingly urgent, highlighting the need for pro-environmental behavior, especially among students. This study aims to examine the role of religion and differences in pro-environmental behavior between Islamic boarding school students and public school students. A quantitative approach with comparative techniques was used. The measuring instrument was the Pro-Environmental Behavior Scale by Larson et al. (2015). The sample consisted of 221 students selected from a population of 643 using probability sampling with a cluster sampling technique. The results showed a significant difference in pro-environmental behavior (t = 6.689, p = 0.000), with Islamic boarding school students scoring higher (Mean = 112.5; SD = 13.6) than public school students (Mean = 101.6; SD = 9.7). These findings suggest that the religious-based educational environment contributes to shaping students’ environmental awareness. A clean and religious educational setting plays an important role in fostering greater concern for the environment among students.

Abstract

This correlational quantitative study aimed to examine the influence of self-efficacy and grit on academic stress among 100 undergraduate students working on their theses. Results indicated that 28% of participants had high self-efficacy, while 72% had moderate levels. Regarding grit, 37% were categorized as high and 63% moderate. Academic stress levels were distributed as 33% high, 64% moderate, and 3% low. T-test analyses revealed that both self-efficacy (t = -3.390, p = 0.001) and grit (t = -3.569, p = 0.001) significantly affect academic stress. Furthermore, the combined effect of self-efficacy and grit on academic stress was significant (F = 31.337, p = 0.000). The study concluded that these two variables significantly influence the academic stress levels of students.
