Abstract

Islam, as a perfect religion, is a religion that brings grace to the universe (rahmatan lil alamin). However, in this modern era, Indonesian Muslims face significant challenges due to the emergence of reformist movement groups with extreme views, namely fundamentalism and radicalism. This is shown by the facts about the bombing carried out by a group of terrorists in the name of Islam. This gets a balance by Islam in this country, which is an Islam that holds a moderate principle, does not lean to the right or the left, but takes the middle path so as not to clash with one another. This principle is the strength of Islam in counteracting radicalism in Indonesia. The principle that does not incline towards an extreme right or an extreme to the left understanding of Islam but remains in the middle is identified with Islamic moderation. This article aims to describe the relevance of Islamic moderation in minimizing the spread of radicalism in Indonesia. This article is qualitative literature research. This study uses written materials in books, scientific articles, research reports, and articles published on news websites. The data analysis technique used was data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the analysis show that the Indonesian-based reconstruction of Islamic moderation, which has new distinctions or characteristics, is conceptually and practically crucial in reducing religious radicalism in Indonesia.

Abstract

Women's Agency at Islamic Boarding Schools in South Kalimantan; The aim of this research is to reveal women's agency which has a bargaining position in Islamic educational institutions, namely Islamic boarding schools in South Kalimantan with the characteristics of Islamic boarding schools that grow and develop in the environment Banjar people who generally still adhere to patriarchy, which gave a certain reaction to the involvement of women in pesantren. The research used phenomenological studies. Data were obtained from women who have bargaining positions in Islamic educational institutions, namely leaders of Islamic educational institutions or “Mudirah”, wives of clerics/ustadz who care for Islamic boarding schools, owners of Islamic educational institutions, administrators of Islamic educational institutions, and educators/Ustadz/Ustadzah. Data analysis technique used coding analysis and constructive gender theory, especially agency theory as the theory of analysis. Data validity was obtained by triangulation technique. The results of the study found that women's agencies in Islamic boarding schools that have a bargaining position have been placing themselves in important positions who take important roles in the Islamic boarding school environment and society through their power. Power is derived from the empowerment process in the form of resources, agency, and achievement.

Abstract

In the Islamic world, leadership is khilāfah for Sunnis and Imāmat for Shiites. Along with the collapse of the Umayyad Empire, Europe, and colonization of the Muslim world, new concepts came into contact, such as the nation-state, democracy, nationalism, etc. In this mixing of ideas, there is a change in the development of the application of sharia. This paper aims to explain sharī‘ah application model in Muslim countries. This paper is a literature review that analyzes reference sources from journals, books, and websites using collecting data in the documentation and various articles and books with content analysis, namely by analyzing descriptive literature data or scientific research’s message. At the same time, the data analysis method is deductive, inductive, and comparative. The findings of this paper are the application of sharī‘ah in the context of modernity in various Muslim countries. There are at least three types of responding to new concepts that are in direct contact with post-colonialism. First, the application of sharī‘ah mixed into the constitution of a country as a whole. Second, sharī‘ah is a sub-ideology, the intersection between religion and the State. Third; is the separation of sharī‘ah and the State. The application of sharī‘ah has many factors, such as the majority of schools, the hegemony of power, and welfare. Thus, in choosing the application of sharī‘ah, there are three forms of understanding, namely ifrāṭ, tafrīṭ, and mu‘tadil.

Abstract

The term Salafi, at glance, is paradox because the term with the meaning referring to al-Qur’an and the tradition, is held by all Islamic schools, but, when it indicates the certain ideology in Islam with rigid, radical and terror characteristics, other Islamic ideologies avoid it. The term, thus, is interesting to research with offering the following main questions: what is the real meaning of Salafi and how is the term to be constructed as the ideology and sole meaning? Answering this, the research proposes a logical and philosophical approach, especially with the primary essential predication (ḥaml al-awwalī adz-dzātī) and the common technical predication (ḥaml asy-syāīʿ ash-shināʿī) methods.Furthermore, the term Salafi may be delineated as referring to what has been before, mā qad salaf, that is, companion era, followers (Tābiʿūn), and following the followers (Tābiʿ Tābiʿīn) era, according to the primary essential predication. However, the common technical predication shows the variative meaning for Salafi. Some define it with rigid, literal and radical while others accommodate it inclusively, “smoother and more polite”. The contestation among the meaning, then, has constructed the current meaning of Salafi as the school with certain ideology such as literal, radical and rigid characteristics.

Abstract

AbstractThis research is motivated by sanda transactions carried out by the Banjar community which are not free from disputes. This study aims to find out how the types of disputes that occur in sanda transactions are and how the settlement mechanism is. The method used in this research is descriptive method. The results of this study indicate that there are three cases of dispute in the sanda transaction, namely; disputes due to the party "menyandakan" in default, disputes due to the party "menyandai" in default, and disputes among heirs due to unclear status of sanda. The dispute resolution steps taken are through non-litigation channels by negotiating or by presenting village elders as judges. This kind of dispute resolution is in accordance with customary law, Islamic law, and positive Indonesian law. In addition, the dispute on the sanda transaction does not result in the cancellation of the first sale and purchase.AbstrakPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh transaksi sanda yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat Banjar yang tidak luput dari masalah sengketa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana sebenarnya jenis-jenis sengketa yang terjadi dalam transaksi sanda dan bagaimana mekanisme penyelesaiannya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada tiga tiga kasus sengketa pada transaksi sanda, yaitu; sengketa karena pihak yang menyandai wanprestasi, sengketa karena pihak yang menyandakan wanprestasi, dan sengketa di kalangan ahliwaris  karena tidak jelasnya status sanda. Adapun langkah penyelesaian sengketa yang diambil adalah melalui jalur non-litigasi dengan melakukan perundingan atau dengan menghadirkan tetuha kampung sebagai pengadil. Penyelesaian sengketa semacam ini sesuai dengan hukum adat, hukum Islam, dan hukum positif Indoensia. Selain itu, sengketa pada transaksi sanda tidak mengakibatkan batalnya jual beli pertama.

Abstract

AbstractThere are so many studies discuss mahabbah according to prominent Sufi figures. This study will elaborate on the concept of mahabbah from the perspective of nature, Sufism, and revelation in the view of Ibn Taimiyah, a prominent Muslim thinker who is known to be a very critical of the teachings and practices in Sufism. This paper is a library research utilizing a Sufism approach. The data in this work were obtained using documentary techniques by referring to the main work of Ibn Taimiyah, namely Qa'idah fi al-Mahabbah. The collected data were analyzed employing descriptive-analysis method. This paper finds that Ibn Taimiyya used different terms from the Sufis to describe the highest level of mahabbah. For most Sufis, the highest level of mahabbah is expressed by the term ishq. As for Ibn Taimiyya, the word ishq is a form and level of excessive love and is therefore considered corrupted. Instead of ishq, Ibn Taimiyya preferred the term khullah. Like the Sufis, Ibn Taimiyya also stated that everything that happens in this world is because of mahabbah of Allah. Then, according to Ibn Taimiyah, mahabbah is closely related to worship, because worship is a form of perfect love of the servant to his Creator. Mahabbah also has a close relationship with ma'rifatullah, because by knowing  God; knowing His names and His attributes will lead to perfect worship and perfect love (mahabbah).ملخص البحثكثرت البحوث والدراسات التي تناقش المحبة في أفكار الصوفية البارزين. وستتناول هذه الدراسة بالكشف عن مفهوم المحبة بمنظور علم الطبيعة والتصوف والوحي عند ابن تيمية، المفكر المسلم البارز المعروف بالنقد القوي لتعاليم وممارسات التصوف. هذه المقالة عبارة عن دراسة مكتبية باستخدام الدراسة الصوفية. وأخذت بيانات هذه الدراسة من التقنيات الوثائقية بالرجوع إلى العمل الرئيسي لابن تيمية، وهو "القاعدة في المحبة". ثم تم تحليل البيانات المجمعة باستخدام منهج التحليل الوصفي. وبعد البحث والتحليل وجد الباحثون أن ابن تيمية استخدم مصطلح مختلف عن الصوفية لوصف أعلى مستوى المحبة. بالنسبة لمعظم الصوفيين فإنه يتم التعبير عن أعلى مستوى المحبة بمصطلح "عشق". أما ابن تيمية فإنه يرى أن كلمة "ِعشق" هي درجة من الحب المفرط الذي يؤدي إلى المفهوم المخطئ. بدلا من عشق ، فضل ابن تيمية مصطلح "الخلّة". ثم ذكر ابن تيمية أن كل ما يحدث في هذا الكون يرجع إلى فضل الله و محبته. ثم ذهب بأن المحبة ترتبط ارتباطًا وثيقًا بالعبادة ، لأن العبادة هي شكل من أشكال الحب الكامل للخالق. كما أن المحبة لها علاقة وثيقة بمعرفة الله. لأنها بمعرفة الله: معرفة أسمائه وصفاته ستؤدي إلى عبادة كاملة ومحبة تامة.

Abstract

Kebahagiaan merupakan suatu tujuan yang selalu dicari oleh manusia. Kebahagiaan erat kaitannya dengan hati atau jiwa manusia, dari ketentraman, ketenangan, atau bahkan kepuasan akan dirinya sendiri dalam kehidupannya. Makalah ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap konsep kebahagiaan perspektif Ibnul Qayyim Al-Jauziyyah. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan metode deskriptif dan analisis. Setelah melalui penelitian yang mendalam, penulis menemukan tiga kesimpulan penting. Pertama, berkaitan dengan hal-hal yang dapat mempengaruhi keadaan hati dan jiwa, dan yang sering dicari oleh kebanyakan orang, yaitu 1) kebahagiaan eksternal, berupa harta, kekuasaan, ketenaran. 2) jasmani atau badan, berupa kesehatan dan kekuatan. 3) kebahagiaan yang hakiki, yaitu ilmu yang bermanfaat dan buah darinya berupa pengamalan. Kedua, berkaitan dengan tanda dari kebahagiaan seseorang, yaitu 1) Apabila mendapatkan nikmat, maka ia akan mensyukuri nikmat tersebut dengan menggunakannya di jalan yang diridhai Allah. 2) Apabila mendapatkan musibah, ia akan senantiasa bersabar. 3) Apabila berbuat dosa, maka ia akan langsung bertaubat kepada Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala. Ketiga, kunci untuk mendapatkan tiga hal tersebut, yaitu dengan ilmu yang diwariskan oleh Rasulullah Shallallahu ‘alaihi wa Sallam beserta pengamalannya. Keimanan, ketaqwaan, kebersihan hati, ketenangan hati dan jiwa, merupakan buah dari ilmu dan juga pengamalan darinya.
