Abstract

The development of shari’ah is being questioned because it has deviated from the original purpose and tends to focus more on formal aspects than on its application and usefulness for life. Therefore, it is the time to re-evaluate the strategy and execution of all forms of shari’ah to fi t with the modern era and improve the business of ummah to cover the advancement of science and technology. There are two choices in establishing the patterns of shari’ah studies. First, follow the trends with tecnical, bureaucratic and legal also formal rule that will make Islamic shari’ah static. Secondly, formulate the paradigm of integrated shari’ah studies covering the development of science and technology whose purpose is to establish a dynamic and responsive Islamic law to the problems of society.

Abstract

The Prophet Muhammad Saw has a great influence among his best friends. The influence was also felt in the field of management education. In management, there are four principles: planning, organizing, actuating and controlling. These four elements are then adopted in managing educational institutions which so called educational management. These four principles are also found in the prophetic spirit. In the beginning of the reign of the Prophet Muhammad in Medina, he launched a literacy program for the companions which was followed by the instructions to the particular person to learn certain science. The Prophet also established teaching and learning for all his followers. During the study, he often asked questions to know how far the companions’ mastery of the material being taught. What the Prophet did can be categorized as a principle of prophetic management based education.

Abstract

The Islamic teachings contain various moral and ethical values which is very important in todays modern era because Islam always concerns with the balance between body and spirit, inward and outward, spiritual and the material, between world and hereafter. Islam can provide moral and ethical values in the development of science. With religion, it is expected that man does not forget himself after successfully developing science, and aware that the science he developed is an ongoing effort within the framework of worship. Therefore, through science, humans will find the ultimate truth that is God. Science is one of the strategic doors to bring people closer to God through intensive and serious effort to consider the universe to the perfection of human life, both physically and spiritually. Through the integration of science and religion developed in PAI (Islamic Education), it is expected to produce the learners who have a scientific attitude, scientific responsibility, capability of utilizing science and become ululalbab.

Abstract

This paper tries to explore the intellectual network of the scholars descendant of Sheikh Muhammad Arsyad al-Banjari. As for the writer, the intellectual network is formed over two centuries, because of the tradition of learning among fellow relatives who form a relationship that not only kinship but also the teacher-student relationships. The intellectual network was then expanded through the process of rihlah ilmiyyah. The emergence of a central figure or actor among their networks, increased mobility and migration and the presence of mating with close relatives and external circles who have a persona in the field of religion.

Abstract

Karya ilmiah ini hanya mendeskripsikan keberadaan (asal-usul, perkembangan, mursyid, silsilah, pengikut, suluk, wirid dan praktiknya) Tarikat Sufiyah Islam (TSI) dalam pemikiran tasawuf H. Abdul Muin Hidayatullah. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa TSI ini dibangun oleh H. Abdul Muin sejak tahun 1955 setelah ia (menurut pengakuannya) dibawa ke alam rohani (liqa barzakhi) bertemu dengan Rasulullah, nabi Adam dan nabi Musa serta 40 orang pimpinan negara Islam. Ketika itu (menurutnya), ia dibaiat sebagai Mursyid Zahir tarikat ini, sementara Mursyid Batinnya adalah Rasulullah. Mulai saat itulah tarikat ini dikembangkannya hingga ia meninggal dunia (1995) dalam usia 87 tahun. Mursyid penggantinya adalah anaknya sendiri, K.H. Abdullah al-Mahdi dan mengembangkannya hingga sekarang.TSI ini merupakan tarikat baru dalam sejarah ketarikatan, karena tidak termasuk dalam deretan tarikat yang ada di dunia Islam. Unsur ketarikatan terpenuhi dalam tarikat ini, seperti adanya mursyid, anggota/murid, suluk/khalwat, amaliah (wirid) dan praktiknya. Kecuali itu sebagaimana dikemukakan di atas, silsilah mursyidnya yang tidak bersambung karena H. Abdul Muin selaku pimpinannya mengaku bertemu langsung dengan Rasulullah dan mendapatkan ajaran/amaliah (wirid) TSI daripadanya. Padahal dalam tataran teori sufistik disebutkan bahwa silsilah mursyid haruslah bersambung (muttasil), sehingga tidak diragukan lagi ke muktabarahannya. Konsekuensi logis dari ketidak-bersambungan silsilah mursyid ini menjadi lahan adanya pro-kontra terhadapnya, sebagaimana halnya tarikat al-Tijaniyah. Meski pun demikian, ternyata Tarikat Sufiyah Islam ini berkembang cukup pesat, sekarang anggotanya mencapai 7.000 orang, ada yang berstatus pendengar, pelajar, pengikut dan pendukung. Mereka tersebar di Kalimantan Selatan terutama di Banjarmasin, Tabunganen dan di Kabupaten Tabalong, dan aktif melaksanakan ajaran/amaliah (wirid) yang ditentukan. Karena itu keberadaannya cukup berarti (berdampak positif) bagi pembinaan keimanan dan ketakwaan anggotanya, meski pun hal ini masih perlu dilakukan penelitian.

Abstract

Tazir and Tawidh are the two preventive instruments that are born to anticipate moral hazard by the customer against the contract agreement made with the banking. Tazir represents a number of penalties stipulated at the start of the contract, definite and designated as a social fund. While Tawidh in the form of compensation set by the bank, not specified at the beginning of the contract but calculated based on the instantaneous losses experienced by banks and these funds entered as a fee and income bank. Tazir provisions get legal legality based on fatwa number 17/DSN-MUI/IX/2000 while Tawidh based on fatwa number 43/ DSN-MUI/VIII/2004. Both of these instruments aim to discipline customers in order to meet the promised achievements. However, when customers experience a state of overmatch (Force Majoer) these two instruments can not be applied because it is contrary to the principle of Masyaqqat contained in Islamic law.

Abstract

This paper tries to map Muhammad Tsani Thought on Pondok Pesantren, with the case of Pondok Pesantren Al Falah, in facing the changing current. According to Muhammad Tsani, Pesantren must be able to play the role at least in two aspects: firstly, in closed or limited area at pondok pesantren its self, that pondok pesantren suggested to have a good quality of product. Secondly, pondok pesantren hoped to have the social role that related with the society need. Usually, both of the two aspects known with the term of ilmu and amal. Actually, this basic paradigm is the main capital of pondok pesantren to face the modernity challenges and to play its main role as the moral counter.

Abstract

The process to educate children is not easy. It should be well planned, well organized, focus and in line with Islamic thought. Preparation for children education should be started ever since a man or a woman tries to find his/her spouse. In Islam, the first fundamental requirement in choosing a soul mate is religion and good characters. A spouse who is devout to Allah the Almighty and his prophet Muhammad pbuh will generate a virtuous generation. Then, this generation is going to be the key people in creating peace and prosperiy on the earth.

Abstract

Sachiko Murata has developed many discourses of spiritual psychology asmentioned in her book The Tao of Islam. The writer found that the higheststage of Sufi which is to be united with God exists vertically betweenthe spirit, soul, mind and heart. Spirit is described as the highest innerdimension, which is connected to soul, as a part of the physical or bodystructure. The relationship between the soul and spirit raises other innerdimension that is the mind and heart. For a Sufi who has reached perfectionor sanctity of life, it also means to have a harmonious relationship betweenmans inner dimension, namely the achievement of happiness and peace ofmind which is reflected in real behavior. This is what Murata stated about ahealthy soul, a soul which is strongly influenced by the spirit or goodness.
