This study aims to describe the effectiveness of using reciprocal teaching learning model on students’ mathematical concept of understanding ability at the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Pinangsori. The research was conducted by using experimental (pretest post test one group design) method with 31 students as the sample and they were taken by using cluster random sampling technique from 119 students. Test and observation were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analysis, it could be found (a) the average of using reciprocal teaching learning model was 3.75 (very good category) and b) the average students’ mathematical concept of understanding ability before using reciprocal teaching learning model was 46.74 (fair category) and after using reciprocal teaching learning model was 83.90 (very good category). Furthermore by using inferential statistic (Pair Sample ttest), it could be found significant value was less than 0.05 (0.000 <0.05). It means, there is a significant difference of students’ mathematical concept of understanding ability before and using reciprocal teaching learning model at the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Pinangsori.

This study aims to know whether there is a significant influence of using constructivism approach on students’ mathematical communication ability at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 7 Padangsidimpuan. The research was conducted by using experimental (pretest post test one group design) method with 24 students as the sample and they were taken by using purposive sampling technique from 115 students. Test and observation were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analysis, it could be found (a) the average of using constructivism approach was 2.50 (good category) and b) the average of students’ mathematical communication ability before using constructivism approach was 54.96 (enough category) and after using constructivism approach was 85.17 (very good category). Furthermore by using inferential statistic (Pair Sample ttest), it could be found significant value was less than 0.05 (0.000 <0.05). It means, there is a significant influence of using constructivism approach on students’ mathematical communication ability at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 7 Padangsidimpuan.

This study aims to describe effectiveness of using cooperative learning model of TAI (Team Assisted Individualization) type on mathematical problem solving ability on the topic beams at the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Huristak. The research was conducted by using experimental method 32 students as the sample and they were taken by using total sampling technique. Observation and test were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analysis, it could be found (a) the average of using TAI type was 3.71 (very good category) and b) the average of students’ mathematical problem solving ability on the topic beams before using TAI type was 56.31 (fair category) and after using TAI type was 83.69 (very good category)). Furthermore, based on inferential statistic by paired sample ttest using, it could be found the significant value was less than 0.05 (0.000<0.05). It means, cooperative learning model of TAI (Team Assisted Individualization) type was effective on mathematical problem-solving ability on the topic beams at the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Huristak.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Efektivitas pendekatan open-ended terhadap kemampuan penalaran Matematis Siswa di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 3 Angkola Selatan dengan populasi sebanyak 169 siswa yang terdiri dari 5 kelas. Tenik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah Cluster Random Sampling, adapun kelas yang menjadi sampel adalah kelas VIII-2 berjumlah 35 siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan Desain Eksperimen One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design, yakni untuk melihat kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa dengan pengukuran sebanyak dua kali yaitu sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Pengumpulan data menggunakan Lembar Observasi dan Tes. Untuk menganalisis data digunakan Analisis deskriptif dan statistik inferensial. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan menggambarkan bahwa nilai Penggunaan pendekatan open-ended adalah 78% termasuk dalam kategori “Baik”. Nilai rata-rat Kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa sebelum menggunakan pendekatan open-ended sebesar 54,54 berada dalam kategori “kurang”. Sedangkan Kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa sesudah menggunakan pendekatan open-ended mencapai nilai rata-rata 72,08 termasuk dalam kategori “Baik”. Nilai signifikan yang diperoleh adalah 0,000 < 0,05. Artinya Efektivitas yang signifikan antara pendekatan open-endedterhadap Kemampuan penalaran Matematis Siswa di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 3 Angkola Selatan. Dengan perolehan skor Effect size adalah 0,44 berada pada kategori “sedang”. Artinya pendektan open-ended efektif digunakan dan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa di SMP Negeri 3 Angkola Selatan.

This study aims to know whether there is a significant effectiveness of using problem posing model on students’ mathematical problem solving ability at the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Angkola Selatan. The research was conducted by using experimental method with 32 students as the sample and they were taken by using cluster sampling technique. Test and observation were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analysis, it could be found (a) the average of using problem posing model was 3.75 (very good category) and b) the average of students’ mathematical problem solving ability before using problem posing model was 51.87 (fair category) and after using problem posing model was 74.37 (good category). Furthermore, based on inferential statistic by using pair sample ttest and heilpin SPSS version 16, it could be found the significant value was less than 0.05 (0.000<0.05). It means, there is a significant effectiveness of using problem posing model on students’ mathematical problem solving ability at the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Angkola Selatan.

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of RME approach on students’ mathematical problem solving ability at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 7 Padangsidimpuan. The research was conducted by using experimental (pretest post test one group design) method with 32 students as the sample and they were taken by using cluster random sampling technique from 98 students. Test and observation were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analysis, it could be found (a) the average of RME approach was 3.46 (good category) and b) the average of students’ mathematical problem solving ability before RME approach was 66.50 (enough category) and after RME approach was 86.56 (very good category). Furthermore by using inferential statistic (Pair Sample ttest), it could be found significant value was less than 0.05 (0.000 <0.05). It means, RME approach is effective on students’ mathematical reasoning ability at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Selatan.

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of using group investigation learning model to increase students’ mathematical communication at the tenth grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Padang Bolak. The research was conducted by using quasi experimental method (pretest post test one group design) with 36 students as the sample and they were taken by using cluster random sampling technique from 139 students. Test and observation were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analysis, it could be found (a) the average of using group investigation learning model was 3.67 (very good category) and b) the average of students’ mathematical communication ability before using group investigation learning model was 53.56 (fair category) and after using group investigation learning model was 78.72 (good category). Furthermore, based on inferential statistic by using paired sample ttest and helping SPSS version 16, the result showed the significant value was less than 0.05 (0.000<0.05). It means, the used group investigation learning model is effective to increase students’ mathematical communication at the tenth grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Padang Bolak.

This study aims to know whether there is a significant influence of using cooperative learning model of CPS type through macromedia flash 8 on students’ mathematical problem solving ability at tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Selatan. The research was conducted by using experimental method with 36 students as the sample and they were taken by using cluster random sampling technique from 103 students. Test and observation were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analysis, it could be found (a) the average of using CPS type through macromedia flash 8 was 3.30 (very good category) and b) the average of students’ mathematical problem solving ability before using CPS type through macromedia flash 8 was 49.86 (fair category) and after using CPS type through macromedia flash 8 was 73.68 (good category). Furthermore, based on inferential statistic by using pair sample ttest, and helping SPSS Version 23, the result showed the significant value was less than 0.05 (0.000<0.05). It means, there is the significant influence of of using cooperative learning model of CPS type through macromedia flash 8 on students’ mathematical problem solving ability at tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Selatan.

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of using REACT (Relating Experiencing Applying Cooperating Transferring) learning strategy on students’ mathematical problem solving ability on the topic logic through Flash Macro Media at the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 3 Panyabungan. The research was conducted by using quasi experimental method (pretest post test one group design) with 27 students as the sample and they were taken by using cluster sampling technique from 116 students. Test and observation were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analysis, it could be found (a) the average of using REACT learning strategy through Flash Macro Media was 3.73 (very good category) and b) the average of students’ logic achievement before using REACT learning strategy through Flash Macro Media was 53.48 (fair category) and after using REACT learning strategy through Flash Macro Media was 82.81 (very good category).Furthermore, based on inferential statistic by using paired sample ttest and helping SPSS version 16, the result showed the significant value was less than 0.05 (0.000<0.05). It means, there is a significant influence of using REACT learning strategy on students’ mathematical problem solving ability on the topic logic through Flash Macro Media.

This study aims to describe effectiveness of using Problem Based Learning model on students’ mathematical problem solving ability at the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Batang Angkola. The research was conducted by using experimental method with 33 students as the sample and they were taken by using cluster sampling technique from 160 students. Test and observation were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analysis, it could be found (a) the average of using Problem Based Learning model was 3.20 (very good category) and b) the average of students’ mathematical problem solving ability before using Problem Based Learning model was 64.61 (enough category) and after using Problem Based Learning model was 84.12 (very good category). Furthermore, based on inferential statistic by using paired sample ttest and helping SPSS version 17, the result showed the significant value was less than 0.05 (0.000<0.05). It means, there is a significant effectiveness of using Problem Based Learning model on students’ mathematical problem solving ability at the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Batang Angkola.
