This study aims to increase of students’ mathematical problem solving on the topic quadrangle through cooperative learning of scramble type at the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Pinangsori. The research was conducted by using Class Action Research (CAR) with 31 students as the sample (VII B) of 2017/2018 academic year. The research consists of two cycles. The results is the abity troubleshooting students who where criteriav exhaustiveness minimum in set in the school of 70 that students through the minimal or completed values was 38.71%,and increased so that the value completed cycle 87.10%, considering the magnitude of the value of completeness classical set in school of the research efforts upgrades troubleshooting has reached meet the target 85%, thu are not followed the cycle of. This study concluded that the cooperative learning of scramble type increased students’ mathematical problem solving.

This study aims to describe effectiveness of using SAVI learning model on students’ mathematical communication ability on the topic lines and angles on the topic at the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 4 Padangsiidmpuan. The research was conducted by using descriptive method with 30 students as the sample and they were taken by using random sampling technique from 174 students. Test and observation were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analysis, it could be found (a) the average of using SAVI learning model on was 3.67 (very good category), b) the average of students’ mathematical communication ability on the topic lines and angles before using SAVI learning model was 44.66 (poor category) and after using SAVI learning model was 71.2 (good category), and c) the describe of effectiveness of using SAVI learning model on students’ mathematical communication ability on the topic lines and angles was 1) 6.7% students gave answer enough category, 2) 76.7% students gave answer good category, and 3) 16.7% students gave answer very good category.

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of using constructivism approach on students’ mathematical problem solving ability at the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 5 Sipirok. The research was conducted by using quasi experimental method (pretest post test one group design) with 41 students as the sample and they were taken by using total sampling technique. Test and observation were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analysis, it could be found (a) the average of using constructivism approach was 2.40 (good category) and b) the average of students’ mathematical problem solving ability before using constructivism approach was 48.73 (fair category) and after using constructivism approach was 75.51 (good category). Furthermore, based on inferential statistic by using paired sample ttest and helping SPSS version 16, the result showed the significant value was less than 0.05 (0.000<0.05). It means, there is a significant effective of using constructivism approach on students’ mathematical problem solving ability at the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 5 Sipirok.

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of using PBL learning model by helping macromedia flash 8 on students’ critical thinking ability at the tenth grade students of SMK negeri 1 Batangtoru. This research was conducted by applying experimental method (pretest post test one group design) with 30 students as the sample and they were taken by using random sampling from 122 students. Observation and test were used in collecting the data. Based on the data analysis, it was found that: (a) the average of using PBL learning model by helping macromedia flash 8 was 3.9 (very good category) and (b) the average of students’ critical thinking ability before using PBL learning model by helping macromedia flash 8 18.23(poor category) and after using PBL learning model by helping macromedia flash 8 was 85.07(good category). Furthermore, based on inferential statistic by using paired sample ttest and helping SPSS 16, the result showed the significant value was less than 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). It means, PBL learning model by helping macromedia flash 8 was effective used on students’ critical thinking ability at the tenth grade students of SMK Negeri 1 Batangtoru.

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of using treffinger learning model on students’ creative thinking ability at the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 2 Siabu. This research was conducted by applying experimental method (pretest post test one group design) with 25 students as the sample and they were taken by using random sampling from 100 students. Observation and test were used in collecting the data. Based on the data analysis, it was found that: (a) the average of using treffinger learning model was 3.8 (very good category) and (b) the average of students’ creative thinking ability before using treffinger learning model was 24.95 (poor category) and after using treffinger learning model was 83.60 (very good category). Furthermore, based on inferential statistic by using paired sample ttest, the result showed the significant value was less than 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). It means, using treffinger learning model was effective used on students’ creative thinking ability at the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 2 Siabu.

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of using PBI (Problem Based Instruction) learning model on students’ mathematical communication ability at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Barumun Selatan. The research was conducted by applying experimental method (one group pretest posttest design) with 26 students as the sample and they were taken by using cluster sampling technique from 108 students. Observation and test were used in collecting the data. Based on the data analysis, it was found that: (1) the average of using PBI learning model was 3.36 (very good category) and (2) the average of students’ mathematical communication ability before using PBI learning model was 56.75 (fair category) and after using PBI learning model was 92.19 (very good category). Furthermore, based on inferential statistic by using pair sample ttest, version 16, the result showed the significant value was less than 0.05 (0.000<0.05). It means, there is a significant influence of using PBI (Problem Based Instruction) learning model on students’ mathematical communication ability at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Barumun Selatan. ABSTRACT This study aims to describe of effectiveness of using talking stick learning model on students’ mathematical problem solving ability at the eighth grade students of YPKS Padangsidimpuan. The research was conducted by applying experimental method with 25 students as the sample and they were taken by using cluster random sampling technique from 127 students. Observation and test were used in collecting the data. Based on the data analysis, it was found that: (1) the average of using talking stick learning model was 3.77 (very good category) and (2) the average of students’ mathematical problem solving ability before using talking stick learning model was 44.67 (poor category) and after using talking stick learning model was 85.25 (very good category). In the other word, there is increasing of students’ mathematical problem solving ability by using talking stick learning model. It means, using talking stick learning model was effective to increase students’ mathematical problem solving ability. Key words: talking stick learning model, mathematical problem solving ability

ABSTRACT This study aims to describe of effectiveness of using talking stick learning model on students’ mathematical communication ability at the eighth grade students of YPKS Padangsidimpuan. The research was conducted by applying experimental method with 25 students as the sample and they were taken by using cluster random sampling technique from 127 students. Observation and test were used in collecting the data. Based on the data analysis, it was found that: (1) the average of using talking stick learning model was 3.67 (very good category) and (2) the average of students’ mathematical communication ability before using talking stick learning model was 44.73 (poor category) and after using talking stick learning model was 80.27 (very good category). Furthermore, based on N-gain formulation, 56% (14 students) showed talking stick learning model was very effective and 44% (11 students) showed talking stick learning model was effective. Abstract The aims of this study is to: 1) describe of using MEA learning model, 2) describe students’ mathematic problem solving ability before and after using MEA learning model, and 3) there is a significant influence of using MEA learning model on students’ mathematic problem solving ability at the eleventh grade students of MAS Al- Ahliyah Aek Badak. This research was conducted by applying experimental method (one group pretest post test design) with sample 29 students and they were taken by using simple total sampling technique. Observation and test were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analysis, it was found that: (a) the score of using MEA learning model was 3.2 (very good category), b) the average of students’ mathematic problem solving ability before using MEA learning model was 50.8 (fair category) and after using MEA learning model was 60.22 (very good category). Furthermore, by using paired sample ttest and helping SPSS version 17, the result showed the significant value was less than 0.05 (0.011<0.05). It means, there is a significant influence of using MEA learning model on students’ mathematic problem solving ability at the eleventh grade students of MAS Al- Ahliyah Aek Badak. Abstract The aims of this study is to: 1) describe of using TSTS (Two Stay Two Stray) learning model, 2) describe students’ mathematic problem solving ability before and after using TSTS learning model, and 3) there is a significant influence of using TSTS learning model on students’ mathematic problem solving ability at the eighth grade students of MTs Al- Ahliyah Aek Badak. This research was conducted by applying experimental method (one group pretest post test design) with sample 27 students and they were taken by using simple total sampling technique. Observation and test were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analysis, it was found that: (a) the score of using TSTS learning model was 3.25 (very good category), b) the average of students’ mathematic problem solving ability before using TSTS learning model was 43.51 (poor category) and after using TSTS learning model was 77.71 (good category). Furthermore, by using paired sample ttest and helping SPSS version 17, the result showed the significant value was less than 0.05 (0.000<0.05). It TSTS ns, there is a significant influence of using TSTS learning model on students’ mathematic problem solving ability at the eighth grade students of MTs Al- Ahliyah Aek Badak.
