Abstract

Abstract The aims of this study is know whether there is a significant influence of using talking stick learning model on students’ mathematic communication ability at the eleventh grade students of MAS Darussalam. This research was conducted by applying experimental method (one group pretest post test design) with sample 35 students and they were taken by using simple cluster random sampling technique. Observation and test were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analysis, it was found that: (a) the score of using talking stick learning model was 3.2 (very good category), b) the average of students’ mathematic communication ability before using talking stick learning model was 44.18 (poor category) and after using talking stick learning model was 71.90(good category). Furthermore, by using paired sample ttest and helping SPSS version 17, the result showed the significant value was less than 0.05 (0.000<0.05). It talking stick, there is a significant influence of using talking stick learning model on students’ mathematic communication ability at the eleventh grade students of MAS Darussalam Keywords: Talking Stick Learning Model, Communication Ability

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to describe the effectiveness of students’ mathematical problem solving ability through Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model at the tenth grade students of SMK Negeri 1 Sarudik. The research was conducted by using quasi experimental method (pretest post test one group design) with 25 students as the sample and they were taken by using cluster random sampling technique from 105 students. Test and questionnaire were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analysis, it could be found (a) the average of using TPS learning model was 3.39 (very good category) and (b) the average of students’ mathematical problem solving ability before using TPS learning model was 54,53 (fair category) and after using TPS learning model was 85.2 (very good category). Furthermore, based on inferential statistic by using paired sample ttest and helping SPSS version 16, the result showed the significant value was less than 0.05 (0.000<0.05). It means, there is a significant difference of students’ mathematical problem solving ability before and after using TPS learning model. In the other words, TPS learning model was effective was used to increase students’ mathematical problem solving ability. Abstract

Abstract This study aims to 1) describe of using TPS learning model, 2) describe the average of students’ mathematical communication ability before and after using TPS learning model, and 3) know whether there is a significant influence of using TPS learning on students’ mathematical communication ability. The research was conducted at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 3 Panyabunagan by applying experimental method (pretest post test one group design) with 25 students as the sample and they were taken by using random sampling from 113 students. Observation and test were used in collecting the data. Based on the data analysis, it was found that: (1) the average of using TPS learning model was 3.21 (good category) and (2) the average of students’ mathematical communication ability before using TPS learning model was 44.22 (fail category) and after using TPS learning model was 80.3 (very good category). Furthermore, based on inferential statistic by using paired sample ttest and helping SPSS 16, the result showed the significant value was less than 0.05 (0.000<0.05). It means, there is a significant influence of using TPS learning on students’ mathematical communication ability at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 3 Panyabunagan. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat efektivitas penggunaan pendekatan RME (Realistic Mathematics Education) terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa di SMP Negeri 3 Angkola Selatan. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII-4 yang berjumlah 34 siswa, teknik pengambilan sampel penelitian menggunakan Random Sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data pada variabel bebas (X) adalah Lembar Observasi dan variabel terikat (Y) adalah Tes. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu : (1) Penggunaan pendekatan RME (Realistic Mathematics Education) terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis memperoleh nilai rata-rata 3,75 berada pada kategori “Sangat Baik”, (2) Kemampuan komunikasi matematis sebelum penggunaan pendekatan RME (Realistic Mathematics Education) diperoleh nilai rata-rata 54,71 berada pada kategori “kurang” dan sesudah penggunaan pendekatan RME (Realistic Mathematics Education) diperoleh nilai rata-rata 83,82 berada pada kategori “Sangat Baik”, (3) Pengaruh penggunaan pendekatan RME (Realistic Mathematics Education) terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis dimana hipotesis diterima dengan penggunaan aplikasi paired-samples t-tes dalam SPSS 17. Dimana hasil nilai signifikan sebesar 0,003 dimana 0,003 < 0,005 sehingga dapat disimpulkan “Semakin efektifnya penggunaan pendekatan RME (Realistic Mathematics Education) maka semakin meningkat kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa SMP Negeri 3 Angkola Selatan”, (4) Adanya letak perubahan kemampuan komunikasi matematis sebelum penggunaan pendekatan RME (Realistic Mathematics Education) dengan nilai rata-rata 54,71 dan sesudah penggunaan pendekatan RME (Realistic Mathematics Education) dengan nilai rata-rata 83,82 sehingga tujuan penelitian ini sudah tercapai dengan hasil yang maksimal.

Abstract

abstract This study aims to describe the effectiveness of using RME approach on students’ mathematical representation ability at the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Timur. The research was conducted by using experimental (pretest post test one group design) method with 26 students as the sample and they were taken by using cluster random sampling technique from 78 students. Test and observation were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analysis, it could be found (a) the average of using RME approach was 3.5 (very good category) and b) the average of students’ mathematical representation ability before using RME approach was 56.73 (fair category) and after using RME approach was 68.16 (enough category). Furthermore by using inferential statistic (Pair Sample ttest), it could be found significant value was less than 0.05 (0.000<0.05). It means, there is a significant difference of students’ mathematical representation abilitybefore and after using RME approach. The other words, RME approach was effective to increase students’ mathematical representation ability. Keywords: RME approach, mathematical representation ability

Abstract

ABSTRACT The aims of this study is know whether there is a significant influence of using MEA learning model through macro media flash on students’ mathematic creative thinking ability at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Selatan. This research was conducted by applying experimental method (one group pretest post test design) with sample 40 students and they were taken by using simple total sampling technique. Observation and test were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analysis, it was found that: (a) the score of using MEA learning model through macro media flash was 3.2 (very good category), b) the average of students’ mathematic creative thinking ability before using MEA learning model through macro media flash was 44.45 (poor category) and after using MEA learning model through macro media flash was 70.87(good category). Furthermore, by using paired sample ttest and helping SPSS version 17, the result showed the significant value was less than 0.05 (0.000<0.05). It means, there is a significant influence of using MEA learning model through macro media flash on students’ mathematic creative thinking ability at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Selatan. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to describe the effectiveness of students’ critical thinking ability by using cooperative learning model of Jigsaw type at the tenth grade students of TAV major of SMK Negeri 1 Batang Angkola. The research was conducted by using quasi experimental method (pretest post test one group design) with 36 students as the sample and they were taken by using cluster random sampling technique from 94 students. Test and questionnaire were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analysis, it could be found (a) the average of using Jigsaw type was 3.80 (good category), (b) the average of students’ critical thinking ability before using Jigsaw type was 53.83 (fair category) and after using Jigsaw type was 87.84 (very good category). Furthermore, based on inferential statistic by using paired sample ttest and helping SPSS version 16, the result showed the significant value was less than 0.05 (0.000<0.05). It means, there is a significant difference of students’ critical thinking ability before and after using Jigsaw type. The other words, Jigsaw type was effective to increase students’ critical thinking ability by using Jigsaw type at the tenth grade students of TAV major of SMK Negeri 1 Batang Angkola.. Abstract

This study aims to increase students’ critical thinking ability through TGT (Teams Game Tournament) learning model at the tenth grade students of SMAN 1 Batangtoru. The research was conducted by applying Class Action Research (CAR) for 3 months (June–August 2018) with 30 students as the object. The research consists of two cycles. The first cycle showed the average of students’ critical thinking ability was 73.42 (classical mastery of 43.33%) and research was continued to the second cycle. The second cycle showed the average of students’ critical thinking ability was 83.16 (classical mastery of 90%). It’s concluded TGT learning model able to improve students’ critical thinking at the tenth grade students of SMAN 1 Batangtoru. Keywords: improve, TGT learning model, critical thinking ability

Abstract

This study aims to know whether there is a significant influence of using PBI learning model on students’ mathematical problem solving ability on the topic Pythagoras theorem at the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1Padangbolak. The research was conducted for 3 months (September-October 2017) by applying experimental method (one group pretest post test) with 25 students and they were taken by using cluster sampling technique from 77 students. Observation and test were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analyzes, it could be found that a) the average of using PBI learning model was 3.50 (very good category), b) the average of students’ mathematical problem solving ability on the topic Pythagoras theorem before using PBI learning model was 69 (enough category) and after using PBI learning model was 88.50 (very good category). Furthermore, based on inferential statistic by using paired sample ttest and helping SPSS 16, the result showed the significant value was less than 0.005 (0.000<0.005). It means, there is a significant influence of using PBI learning model on students’ mathematical problem solving ability on the topic Pythagoras theorem at the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1Padangbolak. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to describe the effectiveness of using time token learning model to increase students’ mathematical problem solving ability on the topic equation system of two variablesat the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Angkola Sangkunur. The research was conducted by using quasi experimental method (pretest post test one group design) with 30 students as the sample and they were taken by using purposive sampling technique from 62 students. Test and questionnaire were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analysis, it could be found (a) the average of using time token learning model was 2.60 (good category) and (b) the average of students’ mathematical problem solving ability equation system of two variables before using time token learning model was 58.83 (fair category) and after using time token learning model was 71.66 (good category). Furthermore, based on inferential statistic by using paired sample ttest and helping SPSS version 16, the result showed the significant value was less than 0.05 (0.000<0.05). It means, time token learning model was effective was used to increase students’ mathematical problem solving ability equation system of two variables.
