Abstract

This research was conducted at PT. Monokem Surya, located in the district. Rengasdengklok Kab. Karawang. Where the researcher wants to know whether there is an influence between reward on employee performance, the influence of motivation on employee performance and the effect of training on employee performance. The dependent variable is employee performance and the independent variables are reward, motivation and training. This research method uses quantitative methods, the data used are premier and secondary data. Primary data obtained by the questionnaire method (questionnaire). The population in this study were employees of PT. Monokem Surya as many as 70 people. The sampling technique used in this research is the total sample is saturated. The data analysis technique used in this research is validity test, reliability test, classical assumption test, normality test, multicollinearity test, heteroscedasticity test, t test, determination test using spss software. The results showed that all independent variables had a significant effect on the performance of the employees of PT. Monokem Surya

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of corporate governance on tax avoidance as measured by the expertise or financial background of the audit committee, independent commissioners, executive compensation, public share ownership structure, largest share ownership structure, company size, and company performance. The sample in this research is a manufacturing company in the food and beverage sub-sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2017 to 2020. The sampling technique used the purposive sampling method by applying certain criteria to obtain 152 samples consisting of 38 companies. The method used in this research is quantitative method with classical assumption test and multiple linear regression test. The result showed that the company’s performance had an effect on tax avoidance. Meanwhile, the audit committee’s expertise or financial background variables, independent commissioners, executive compensation, public share ownership structure, largest share ownership structure, and company size did not have an effect on the tax avoidance variable.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to learn about the perspectives of the second generation of family company owners on governance, work performance, and ideal leadership for the family business to succeed. The evolution of family business studies that look at governance, work performance, governance, and leadership is discussed in some of the literature examined in this study. The Hasnur Group is the subject of this study, and the data is processed by showing data reduction before being evaluated using descriptive techniques. The findings of this study show that the second generation has a unique viewpoint on governance, namely that it should be handled by the family, that work performance should be guided by the principles established by the second generation, and that leadership should use situational leadership

Abstract

Retirement planning is an important thing to do for every individual. Individuals who do not have a good retirement plan are feared to have anxiety about their retirement. This research is a basic research that examines the perception of the people of Surabaya on retirement planning qualitatively. This study uses the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), Time Discounting, and Proactivity variables as triggers for a person’s intention to plan for retirement. This study aims to determine the Surabaya people's perception of retirement planning and what factors influence an individual to decide to do financial planning. The research was conducted by conducting in - depth interviews with several resource persons with active working criteria, in which the results of the interviews would be used as material for further discussion. It was found from the discussions that several factors in the TPB, Time Discounting, and Proactivity indirectly influenced the intentions of the informants.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the characteristics of good corporate governance as measured by the proportion of the board of commissioners, the proportion of independent commissioners, the proportion of the audit committee, institutional ownership, and disclosure of social responsibility on the financial performance of infrastructure companies as measured by return on equity (ROE). The sample in this study were infrastructure companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2016 to 2020. The sampling technique used the purposive sampling method by applying certain criteria to obtain 80 samples consisting of 16 companies. The method used in this research is quantitative method with classical assumption test and multiple linear regression test. The results showed that the characteristics of good corporate governance in the form of the proportion of the board of commissioners and the disclosure of social responsibility (CSR) affect the company's financial performance which is reflected in the return on equity (ROE). Meanwhile, the proportion of independent commissioners, the proportion of audit committees, and institutional ownership have no effect on the company's financial performance.

Abstract

Islamic banking and finance has shown impressive growth in the world over the past three decades. This achievement has come a long way, most of the financial services having interest-based banking and non-bank financial institutions have provided shari’a system. However, in some financial sectors at national and global levels are still very low in implementing the shari’a system. The main factors behind this phenomenon are the existence of a number of myths and a lot of confusion about Islamic finance theory among the public and intellectuals. So there are also misunderstandings about Islamic banking and criticisms about its theory and practice have been discussed directly or indirectly in various places, both in discussions, writings and even in books on this subject. The system that emerged was subject to a number of myths and harsh criticism, not only by those who did not accept the prohibition of interest but also by "devout" people both lay and learned who visualized the ideal system without giving any weight to the challenges of evolution and the problems of teething and difficulty. Islamic finance concepts and philosophies are based on sound reasons and are accepted by an increasing number of people around the world. What practitioners need to do is create awareness so that it can dispel myths among the public. Regarding the practice of Islamic banking, it is necessary to implement strict internal controls to avoid systemic and operational risks.

Abstract

Sharia-based insurance companies and businesses began to move faster in the last 10 years in Indonesia, along with the development of the sharia finance industry in general, such as sharia banks, sharia cooperatives and others. Since the establishment of this type of sharia insurance company in Indonesia at the end of 1994 with the product Takaful Family Insurance (life insurance). Sharia insurance has begun to be recognized by Muslim and non-Muslim communities to meet the need for insurance services that are increasingly felt by individuals and the business world in Indonesia. Insurance is a financial means in managing household life, both in facing the fundamental risks or in dealing with risks to the assets owned. The healthy impact of business and service companies such as sharia insurance is monitored by its financial performance. Either it is measured by Surplus On Contribution (SOC) or Return on Assets (ROA). This article tried to analyze the factors that affect the financial performance of Islamic Insurance companies in Indonesia, for the last 5 (five) years period, by including several positive and negative factors. The factors that the authors recommended in this analysis were Company size, Leverage, Liquidity, Tangibility, Volume of Capital, and Loss Ratio. The approach model for this analysis used a path model approach (Path Model's) with the assumption that each of the factors involved has a causal relationship with one another. So that the advantage of using this approach was its results will be able to give the direct or indirect effects of each factor on the financial performance to be analyzed.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of work-life balance and job satisfaction on Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB). Respondents are employees of the millennial generation throughout Indonesia. The sample is 107 respondents, taken by purposive sampling technique. PROCESS Macro method is used as a data analysis technique with SPSS 22.0 application. Based on the research, it was found that work-life balance has a positive and significant effect on and OCB, and job satisfaction mediates the effect of work-life balance on OCB significantly. In conclusion, OCB coaching to create a millennial generation is very important to produce better performance. Overall, this research provides a significant contribution to the development of research in the field of human resource management and organizational behaviour in the field of millennial employees throughout Indonesia.

Abstract

The health crisis caused by the coronavirus (Covid-19) is becoming increasingly severe. Policies such as curfew and lockdowns have impacted decreasing the spread of the virus but pose challenges for the global economy and financial markets. This study investigates the effect of Covid-19 pandemic on the Fintech stock index during the health pandemic. This paper uses the new Covid-19 index dataset, consisting of medical index, travel index, uncertainty index, Covid index, vaccine index, and aggregate Covid index. The KBW NASDAQ financial technology index (KFTX) is adopted as a proxy of the Fintech stock index. Several methods, namely MLRA, PCRA, and Lasso, are applied in predicting factors affecting the Fintech stock index. The findings reveal that PCRA is more efficient and simple in predicting Fintech stock index than MLRA and Lasso. This study also finds that vaccine index positively impacts, while the other five variables, such as aggregate Covid index, medical index, travel index, uncertainty index, and Covid index have a negative correlation to Fintech stock index. Despite the fact that Covid-19 is still evolving, the findings provide the determinants of the Fintech stock index that will be useful for investors to diversify their portfolio of financial assets during a crisis.

Its important for individual have of capital competency ( knowledge and skills) to face the challenges of globalization by learning a cross-cultural adjustment for global worker, cultural intelligence can explain how individuals have capability to adaptation to multi- cultural environment . This article purpose to conceptual describe the relationship between the cultural intelligence and cross-cultural adjustment related to worker in a global culture or cross-cultural.
