Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of social arithmetic material in mathematics especially for students as educational subjects in daily life, while the aim is to analyze students’difficulties in solving social arithmetic questions in the form of contextual questions. This study is classified as a qualitative descriptive study that illustrates the ability of students to solve social arithmetic problems in which the question is based cognitive bloom. The population in this study were all eighth grade junior high school students in West Bandung regency whose samples were selected randomly in Mahardika Middle School as many as 31 people. The data was obtained by testing 8 test question containing the cognitive bloom domain with 3 C3 details, 3 C4 questions and 2 C5 questions. The results showed that there were 1 people with high ability, 2 people with moderate abilities, and 28 people with low abilities with various errors including misconceptions, principle errors, and data operation errors, while the average acquisition rate was 25,7%. It can be concluded that the ability of students to solve problems is still relatively low so that efforts are needed to improve abilities.

Abstract

In this study, 312 junior high school students are tested on their mathematics learning engagement and achievement. This research will also find out the connection between the students’ mathematics learning engagement with their mathematics academic performance. The results of this research show that junior high school students’ mathematics learning engagement is closely related to their mathematics academic performance in which cognitive engagement has the highest correlation and emotional engagement has the lowest correlation with students’ mathematics academic performance. The result also shows that when there is a higher mathematics academic achievement, the mathematics learning engagement will also be higher. This research also shows that gender factor doesn’t really affects the students’ mathematics learning engagement but their geographic factor does affect the learning engagement.

Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes at Cimahi 1 State Vocational School Using the cooperative learning model type Student Team Achievement Division (STAD). The research method in this research is classroom action research (CAR) which consists of two cycles. The research subjects were 37 students of class X TEC-C SMKN 1 Cimahi on redox reaction material. The results of this study indicate the ability of students of class X TEI-C SMK 1 Cimahi can be improved through STAD support. This can be seen from the results of the initial test cycle II obtained a minimum value of 75 increased by 22.0% with an average value of 70.1 and from cycle II to cycle II increased by 15.9% with an average value of 75.4. Then it can be saud that in cycle II the learning scenario has been said ti be successful.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the effectiveness of guided inquiry based instructional materials in improving students’ mathematical communication ability. The subject of the research was 34 the students in class VIII7 of SMPN 12 Padang. The effectiveness was viewed from the students’ mathematics communication ability after learning by using guided inquiry based instructional materials. The communication skills of students are obtained from tests given in the form of essay tests with 6 items in the Pythagoras theorem lesson. I scoring rubrics indicators of mathematical communication ability were developed by referring to NCTM (1989) and Sumarmo (2003). The scoring results will be compared with the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM) set by the school with a value of 75. There were 34 students taking essay tests. The value of students ≥ 75 as many as 24 people with a percentage of 70.5%, while the value of 10 other people < 75 with a percentage of 29.5%. More than 65% of students are above KKM. so that guided inquiry based instructional materials can improve students' mathematical communication ability

Abstract

Trigonometry is one of the basic of mathematics that is taught in high school. Students always thinks that trigonometry is a hard theory and this research aims to overcome the students’ problems by using VBA learning media base on the 6-question cognitive theory. This research will use the experiment method with a pre-test and post-test to see the difference on the students’ mathematics understanding ability that uses VBA learning media based on the 6-question cognitive theory and the one that uses traditional teaching method. The result of this research is that there is a difference and an increase in the students’ mathematics understanding ability that uses VBA learning media base on the 6-question cognitive theory compared to the students who uses traditional teaching method.

Abstract

Tujuan dalam penelitian ini secara umum adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan dalam pemecahan masalah Aljabar pada Fungsi dan Fungsi Invers siswa kelas XI Geomatika Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Negeri 2 Surakarta, dan secara khusus bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar Matematika materi Fungsi dan Fungsi Invers pada siswa kelas XI Geomatika di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Negeri 2 Surakarta. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode pembelajaran Think Pair Square Penerapan metode pembelajaran Think Pair Share secara signifikan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam Fungsi dan Fungsi Invers Siswa kelas XI DPIB-A SMKN 2 Surakarta. Kemampuan siswa dalam Fungsi dan Fungsi Invers pada kondisi awal sebelum tindakan persentase kemampuannya berada pada kategori rendah yaitu 47.22 % dan pada siklus I mengalami peningkatan dengan tingkat kemampuan sedang yaitu 64% dan pada siklus II kemampuan siswa berada pada kategori tinggi yaitu 86 %. Peningkatan kemampuan siswa dalam pemecahan masalah matematika sangat signifikan yaitu sebesar 38,78% dari kondisi awal.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan modul pembelajaran berbasis game menggunakan metode inkuiri berorientasi pemecahan masalah, mengetahui kefektifan penggunaan modul dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik serta mengetahui tanggapan peserta didik terhadap penggunaan modul dalam pembelajaran pada materi persamaan trigonometri. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan menggunakan rancangan penelitian pengembangan dengan mengadopsi model Plomp yang meliputi beberapa fase seperti: 1) Preliminary Research, 2) Prototyping Phase, 3) Assessment Phase. Berdasarkan Priliminary Research diperoleh perlunya dikembangkan modul pembelajaran matematika berbasis game pada materi persamaan trigonometri, hal ini dikarenakan hasil belajar peserta didik pada materi persamaan trigonometri sangat rendah.

Abstract

Pandemic covid-19 menyebabkan dilakukannya tindakan pencegahan dengan meliburkan sekolah terutama yang berada di zona merah penyebaran Covid-19. Bangkinang Kota salah satu zona merah yang mengharuskan sekolah dari KB sampai dengan perguruan tinggi meliburkan peserta didiknya. Hal ini mengakibatkan terhambatnya proses pembelajaran. Guru-guru yang biasanya mengajar di dalam kelas menjadi kebingungan dalam melaksanakan proses pembelajaran. Salah satu cara yang dilakukan guru adalah dengan memberikan tugas kepada peserta didik melalui via whatssap. Namun usaha tersebut kurang memotivasi peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar peserta didik dalam pembelajaran Matematika dengan Metode Daring menggunakan Google Classroom pada peserta didik kelas XI SMAN 1 Bangkinang Kota tahun ajaran 2019/2020, pada kelas XI IPS 4 yang mengikuti kelas Daring via Google Classroom berjumlah 18 orang. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada tanggal 14 April 2020 sampai 15 Mei 2020. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam satu siklus yang terdiri dari empat pertemuan. Instrumen penelitian ini berupa Lembar Kuesioner pelaksanaan Kelas Online atau Kelas Daring. Berdasarkan analisis data diperoleh jumlah siswa yang memiliki motivasi belajar tinggi sebanyak 17 orang, dan 1 orang peserta didik memiliki motivasi belajar matematika sedang setelah dilaksanakannya pembelajaran daring melalui google classroom ini.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the learning interests of Class IV Elementary students in learning mathematics on the KPK and FPB material assisted by the VBA Excel application by using 20 indicators of learning interest. The research method for analysis uses descriptive qualitative method, with the instrument used in the form of giving questionnaires containing positive and negative statements to analyze students' interest in learning mathematics. The sample subject in the study was grade IV Cibungur State Primary School located in West Bandung with the number of students 29 people. The results obtained from research that students' interest in learning mathematics learning aided by VBA Excel in the KPK and FPB material is good.
