Abstract

Pecha Kucha has been gaining more acknowledgment in many subjects since the first time it was introduced in 2003 in the architect’s meeting. Currently it has been increasingly utilized in English teaching. Due to its nature as a presentation technique, it has been incorporated in English speaking   classes. Furthermore, it was also employed in reading, writing, and translation classes. This paper   aimed at reviewing research articles of the incorporation of Pecha Kucha in English classes in higher education. After the review, the formulation of the Pecha Kucha use for teaching English will be presented. The result indicated that Pecha Kucha can be incorporated in English classes with various ways such as employing it as formative and summative assignments in personal or group based works. It can be also used in person or online classroom teaching settings. Furthermore, the strict rules of Pecha Kucha can be adjusted according the needs of the teaching context so this presentation technique offers new and promising technique. Abstract

Android has evolved into one of the most frequently used operating systems as a result of the advancement of technology. Android offers several advantages as a learning medium, including its accessibility and simplicity of use. The purpose of this research was to assess student responses to Social Arithmetic Escape From Home, an Android-based interactive learning media. This is a descriptive study of students' reactions to learning media technologies. The data was collected using a questionnaire that included questions about three areas of media assessment: appearance, ease of use, and benefits. The findings revealed that students' responses to the areas of appearance and simplicity of use were very positive, with percentage scores of 95.8% and 89.2%, respectively. The benefits aspect has a score percentage of 73.6% in the positive response category. The Escape From Home Social Arithmetic application as an Android-based interactive learning medium received a very positive response and was practically implemented in learning, with an average percentage score of 86.2% in the very positive response category. Abstract

This study examines the relevance of Albert Bandura's social learning theory and family education methods in Islam. The problem is whether this social learning theory is in line with Islamic education methods in the family environment. This issue needs to be studied because this theory is hot in education in Indonesia and the family is the closest social environment to a child's life. Besides that, the facts show that education taught by parents is the initial foundation for the success of children's education in the future. Then, education in the family is the main key in forming the character and personality of children. This research is a library research using a qualitative approach. Data is collected through analysis of books and journals that are relevant to the problem. The data analysis technique used is the Miles and Huberman data analysis technique which consists of data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. At the data reduction stage the writer will sort the data according to the research study which is then presented in words to produce new findings. Then the authors formulate conclusions as verification of research findings. Based on the results of the study it was found that Albert Bandura's social learning theory is relevant to the family education method in Islam. This can be seen from 1) Albert Bandura's social learning theory can be used in family education, 2) social learning theory is in line with the exemplary and habituation methods taught by Islam, 3) there is a process of observational learning and modeling which requires repetition in its application which is also used in the method family education in Islam. Abstract

This research aims to knowing the Influence of Abilities (Ability) in improving Performance Employees in the Institutional Section of Facilities and PKLK infrastructure of the Jambi Provincial Education Office. This study used Descriptive Statistical Analysis Techniques and Regression Analysis Techniques as a Data Analysis Method and Test the Hypothesis. The results of descriptive statistical calculations found that the employees had carried out the Performance well, have the ability which is good. Almost all indicators of the variables studied have met the requirements of reliability and valid. The results showed that Ability work contributes 73.4% to Performance employees in the Facilities Institutional Section and PKLK infrastructure of the Jambi Provincial Education Office. Ability employees who need to enhanced is an ability employees for doing difficult work as well as ability think to doing various kinds of work, through the participation of employees in various existing training activities. To Performance Employees that need to be addressed are those related to the employee's willingness to work beyond the target. Kata kunci: Kemampuan, Kerja, Kinerja.

Abstract

This research is a development study with the aim of determining the feasibility of geometric interactive media that is carried out in students of SMA AL-Amin Kota Sorong and evaluating the effectiveness of interactive multimedia based on the opinions of linguists, media specialists, and material experts. The four steps of the development process are the defining stage (define), the design stage (design), the development stage (develop), and the deployment stage. This development model is called the 4-D device development model (Four D Model) (disseminate). Linguists, subject matter experts, and media specialists were contacted about and evaluated the interactive multimedia that had been developed. The subject matter in Interactive Multimedia is related to geometry. According to the assessment of linguists in the development of multimedia learning, this study has succeeded in developing multimedia interactive geometry that has a very decent quality with an average of 3.7, while in the assessment of material experts obtained an average assessment of 3.6 and based on media experts, this study has obtained an average score of 3.5 which is categorized so that based on the assessment criteria, interactive multimedia meets the eligibility criteria

Abstract

The Role-Playing learning model is a learning model which can assist the students to understand, think, and act alone by acting out the behavior of others in real life in the form of group discussion activities. This study aims to determine the influence of role-playing learning models in building students’ character in overcoming moral degradation in the world of education. The results of this study are expected to build the character of students to be better in living in society. This research was conducted with a qualitative approach and the research design was Class Action Research. The research was carried out with 2 cycles by following the Role-Playing learning model. The population of this research was all students of FKIP, Universitas Patompo, while the sample of this research was class 1B students of Economic Education of FKIP, Universitas Patompo with the total number of students were 40. This research applied qualitative and quantitative data. Qualitative data was obtained through observation and questionnaire techniques, while quantitative data was obtained through direct tests, namely role-playing in building the students’ character. Qualitative data was analyzed through three stages, namely data reduction, data display, and conclusions, while quantitative data was analyzed by using descriptive statistics. The result of the research shows that there is an increase in the average score of each aspect assessed in character learning by applying the role-playing learning model in cycle I and cycle II, it can be concluded that the Role-Playing learning model can be an interesting learning method and can overcome the moral degradation of students of Economics Education at FKIP Universitas Patompo. Abstract

This research was motivated by problems that occurred in English subjects class in a school in West Papua, Indonesia, about students’ anxiety when they spoke using the language they were learning. We focused on identifying characteristics indicating the anxiety and causes of the condition. Therefore, we employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Characteristics indicating the emergence of anxiety in students are divided into three categories, physical, behavioral, and cognitive. Then, we also found three groups of factors causing speaking anxiety: Communication concerns, Test anxiety, and Fear of Negative Evaluation.
