Abstract

The study aims to reveal the differences in the Project Based Learning Model with the Problem Based Learning Model of Self Efficacy in fifth grade students of SD Kartika 1-11 Padang Timur District. The type of research used is quasi experiment with the design of the static group comparison design. The population in this study were all fifth grade students of SD Kartika 1-11 Padang TImur District with sample VE class as experimental class 1 and VE as experimental class 2. Sampling was done by probability sampling technique with the type of proportionate stratified random sampling. Data analysis techniques through the students' pretest and posttest Self Efficacy abilities. The hypothesis is proposed using the t test formula. The results showed that there were differences in the Self Efficacy of students in the experimental group 1 who took science learning using the Project Based Learning model for the experimental group 2 students taking science learning using the Problem Based Learning model with the average Self Efficacy questionnaire in the experimental class 1 at 72.92 posttes 87.58 and the average Self Efficacy questionnaire for the experimental class 2 students was pretest 63.13 posttest 71.04.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to describe the implementation of disciplinary character education in elementary schools and is expected to be able to find policies that support the success of character education. This type of research uses a qualitative approach. The study was conducted at SDN 29 Lubuk Alung, with the subject of principals, teachers, and students. Data is collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The technique of checking the validity of the data used is the triangulation technique. The results showed that in carrying out disciplinary character education at SDN 29 Lubuk Alung carried out through six policies, namely (1) making character education programs, (2) establishing school rules and class rules, (3) doing Dhuha prayer and Dhuhur prayer in congregation, ( 4) make affective posts in each class, (5) monitor the discipline behavior of students at home through a daily activity notebook, (6) involve parents (7) involving the school committee.Keywords: Discipline Character Education, Elementary School

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to obtain data, process, analyze and discuss the Study of Environmental Hygiene in Islamic Boarding Schools in H. Abdullah Alin Tagak. Viewed from: 1) Attitude, 2) Behavior, 3) Availability of Trash Tubs, 4) Teacher's This type of research belongs to qualitative research. Respondents in this study were in the form of santri and teachers in the Islamic Boarding School environment of H. Abdullah Alin Tagak, Subdistrict, western market district. Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is motivated by the fact that in the field there are many learning to divide two-digit numbers with teaching aids, especially by means of repetitive reduction which is converse. Learning is still teacher-centered, so learning becomes boring and consequently student learning outcomes are not yet established with KKM, which is 65. One solution to overcome this problem is by using a props approach. Thus the purpose of this study was to describe the form of planning, implementation in improving the learning outcomes of class II SD Negeri 20 Dadok Tunggul black, Koto Tangah Subdistrict, Padang on the material distribution of two-digit numbers resulting from repeated reduction using props. This research was conducted at SD Negeri 20 Dadok Tunggul Hitam, Koto Tangah District, Padang, with 30 students. This type of research is PTK using qualitative and quantitative. The research plan includes planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. This research was carried out two cycles with the material sharing two numbers by means of props. Abstract

Abstract The background study of mathematics in the sixth grade at SDN 10 Nan Balimo districk of Tanjung Harapan Solok city,where teachers mostly use the lecture method and learning tasks.During these learning out comes visible only from the ability of learnes to memorizefacts. Although many students are able to present a good level of memorization of the material it receives,but in reality they often do not understand in depth the substance of the material.Therefore conducted research in the form of precycle,cycle I and cycle II.There are four important satges in this action research,that is : (1) Design, (2) implementation, (3) observation, (4) reflection, Arikunto,dkk ( 2006 : 20 )at SDN 10 Nan Balimo,changes in learning shown by mastering by learnes. Effective learning activities cannot appear by itself but the teacher should be able to create learning that enables learnes archieve the goals that have been set optimally,improvement of learning out comes of student and interest of learnes to be able to understand learning materials using a makeshift media and methods that are less precise at first was somewhat less but after improvements both in terms of teaching methode and used the students interest and understanding of the learning material has begin to rise, and with the use of mathematical methods of discovery learning outcomes of students at SDN 10 Nan Balimo already increased due to the discovery method required students to find themselves in everyday life. Abstract

The problem in this research study originated from education of ABK in the rural area, Ranah Batahan Sub-district of Pasaman Barat. There were many problems related to the continuity of education of ABK in this area. The research used mixed method (combined) to collect the data besides. It conducted an observations and interviews to reinforce the data. The respondents were chosen by using total sampling and for the techniques of data analysis; it used reduction, display, verification test of validity and reliability. To find the solution of this problem the researcher with a FGD (focus group discussion) together with principals, teachers, and UPTPD of Ranah Batahan Sub-district. From the research the result showed that the physical characteristic of the area was difficult to reach. From the social side, the research showed that there is not enough concern guides by the parents of ABK. So that ABK had a low motivation to continue their study. Besides, there were problem in economic community education the research showed. In this area, most of the people had a problem related to the cost for the education of ABK. It was also constrained to the sustainability of education of ABK. So that it was important to give an effort to continuity education of ABK in Ranah Batahan Sub-district. For example, it was conducted by building a SLB together with the parents of ABK, people, head master, and also the government.

Abstract

This study is entitled English Course Handouts Using Text-Based Language Teaching for Students at Budidaya Tanamanan Perkebunan Politeknik Pertanian Negeri Payakumbuh with Research and Development type. The subjects of this study were first semester students in the Department of Plantation Plant Cultivation, two lecturers of English Language courses, and two chairmen of Study Programs in the departmental environment. The instruments used were questionnaires, interview guides, and product validation sheets. The results of the study indicated that the current English language lecture material is General English which was not in accordance with the needs of students learning the language. Thus, it was necessary to develop English language material that can help students achieve learning targets. Text-based language teaching was used as a basis for learning because students need reading skills in English references to support their academic abilities. Other skills can be trained through activities that come from reading material in each handout. The products produced from this study are categorized as "valid" after being validated by experts with a score of 78.48 with a scale of 100. Student perceptions of handouts that are tested in a limited manner were interesting, easy to understand, and able to help them understand the lecture material given by the lecturer.

Abstract

This study aimed to get the criteria for English language teaching materials needed by Padang State Polytechnic Information and Technology students and evaluate English teaching materials that were used to determine the level of compatibility of teaching materials used with criteria obtained in terms of language, content, and methodology. This research was an evaluation research. Questionnaires, interviews, and analysis formats were used to obtain data. The results of data analysis showed that: (1) criteria for English language teaching materials were needed by students majoring in Information and Technology in terms of language indicated that the teaching material used was in accordance with the needs of students, majors, and their level of English; in terms of the content of teaching material used had an emphasis on speaking and listening skills and teaching materials used for writing and reading were still lack; in terms of the methodology of teaching materials used were equipped with activities that train speaking skills so that training and assignments were focused on practicing speaking skills. (2) The level of compatibility of teaching material in terms of language was 58%. (3) The level of compatibility of teaching material in terms of contents, namely 42%. (4) The level of compatibility of teaching materials used in terms of methodology was 42%. Based on the results of the study, it could be concluded that students majoring in Information and Technology needed material that could improve their listening and speaking skills, then the material used in writing and reading was further reproduced.

Abstract

The research was conducted to explain the effect of Games Strategy and students anxieity on students listening ability. The design of this research was quasi experimental with 2x2 factorial design. The population of this research was the second year students of SMAN 1Tanjung Pinang, 2016/2017 academic year. Listening ability test and anxiety questionnaire were used as the research instruments. Then, the data were analyzed by using t-test formula and two ways Anova. The result of this research shows that (1) Games Strategy gave significant higher result in studens listening ability than Note Taking Strategy. It was indicated by the result of t-test which showed that tobserved (3,028) was bigger than ttable, (1,993), (2) Games Strategy gave significantly higher result inlistening ability of students with high anxiety than Note Taking Strategy. It was indicated by the result of t-test which showed that tobserved (3,338) was bigger than ttable (2,100), (3) Games Strategy did not give significantly higher result instudents listening ability with low anxiety than Note Taking Strategy.It was indicated by the result of t-test which showed that tobserved (0,569) was less than ttable (2,100), (4) There was no interaction between both strategies and students anxiety toward students listening aability, where Fobserved (2.809) was less than Ftable (3.25). In conclusion, Games Strategy gave significant higher result on students listenign ability than Note Taking Strategy and there was no interaction between teaching strategies and students anxiety toward students listening ability.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to develop English learning materials based on task-based learning in the form of handout for nursing study program students at STIKES Aufa Royhan Padangsidimpuan. In the development process, this research used to: 1) identify the needs of teaching/learning Englishof the students; 2) develop English learning materials based on task-based learning; 3) find out the experts’ judgments about the developed handout; 4) find out the users’ perceptions about the developed handout. Research method was Research and Development (R&D). ADDIE model used to develop the handout. The result of needs analysis indicated the students needed to learn English language use in the nursing context. Then appropriate handout of English for Nursing was developed based on the result of needs analysis. Based on the experts judgments and users’ perception, the developed handout are categorized valid, effective, and practical.
