Abstract

the average prevalence of hypertension in indonesia is 31.7%; by 2025, the proportion of hypertensive patients is projected to increase to 24% in developed countries and 80% in developing countries. prevention and monitoring of hypertension can be done through community health centers or the posyandu program. participants providing community service are characterized by staff who supervise people with hypertension, the most common disease. this service is carried out through active lectures and discussions with participants. the activities show that cadres already know about hypertension and know how to prevent complications and how cadres regularly measure blood pressure independently. therefore, there is a need for creative health promotion initiatives and targeting the right people/groups so that better changes can be made in the future.keywords: blood pressure; cadre; hypertension; skills; knowledge.

Abstract

Community Service is a form of activity with research content that places students outside the campus and invites students to think critically so that they can help develop potential in the community with the help of lecturers in solving solutions. Buruan Village, located in Tabanan-Bali Regency, has classic problems in the management of inorganic and organic waste. A waste management system that utilizes vacant land is an option because of the unavailability of waste management methods. The dedication carried out then made a program carried out in Buruan Village in the form of making biopores, recycling plastic or inorganic waste into crafts that are of selling value, and the introduction of the Waste Bank for the community is a form of education to the community in Buruan Village and also for elementary school children to improve students' knowledge and skills in managing plastic waste into source-based waste.            Keywords: organic and inorganic waste; waste bank; waste recycling

Abstract

The travel and tourism sectors are closely related to the hospitality sector. The success of a hotel in this digital era is strongly supported by customer service that utilizes information technology-based applications. However, using these applications effectively requires proper training and understanding. Therefore, this service activity aims to train Swarna Dwipa hotel staff in operating a web-based hotel room reservation application. It is one way for hotel staff to provide optimal service and assist in driving business success in the hospitality sector. Many studies show that operating hotel room reservation applications can increase customer satisfaction and efficiency in the hotel business. However, proper and systematic training is necessary to maintain competitiveness. The stages of this activity include observation, interviews, sharing knowledge, training in application use, and evaluation. The simulation results show that participants can use the reservation application in a structured and systematic manner with a significant level of user acceptance of applications. Abstract

The purpose of the Community Service activity conducted by the STAIN Mandailing Natal Arabic Language and Literature lecturer team at Al Munawwar Kindergarten is to enhance students' vocabulary mastery (Mufrodat) through the singing method. This training took place over one day and was attended by 21 students. The method employed is the Eclectic method (Intiqoiyyah). The activity comprised several stages, including opening, educational games, core activities, evaluation, rewards presentation, and closing. The results obtained from this activity indicate an improvement in students' vocabulary mastery (Mufrodat) through the application of the singing method. This is evident from the students' enthusiasm during the learning process and their ability to respond to questions during the evaluation stage.Keyword: singing methods, mufrodat, arabic AbstrakTujuan dari kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat yang dilakukan oleh tim dosen Bahasa dan sastra arab STAIN Mandailing Natal di sekolah TK Al Munawwar adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan penguasaan kosa kata (Mufrodat) melalui metode bernyayi. Pelatihan ini dilaksanakan dalam waktu 1 (satu) hari dan diikuti oleh 21 Siswa. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam proses pelatihan yaitu metode Elektik (Intiqoiyyah). Beberapa tahapan kegiatan yaitu, pembukaan, Game edukatif, kegiatan inti, evaluasi, pemberian reward dan penutup. Sedangkan  hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan ini yaitu adanya  peningkatan penguasaan kosa kata (Mufrodat) siswa dengan penggunaan metode bernyanyi, hal ini dibuktikan dengan antusias para siswa dalam proses pembelajaran dan kemampuan mereka dalam menjawab pertanyaan yang diberikan pada tahap Evaluasi.  Keyword: metode bernyayi, mufrodat, bahasa arab

Abstract

Everyone who is capable and able to communicate, however, is not necessarily skilled at speaking in public. This limitation occasionally leads to communication misunderstandings. The IAIN Metro Community Service Team studied the English Training and Gathering (Estage) Language Education Institute, which implements the English system in a Metro City - Lampung area as a forum for improving the speaking skills and quality of members from elementary to advanced classes, supported by gathering activities that encourage students to dare to speak in public. The service training activities were given to helpg students at the English Village Estage understanding the elements and processes of public speaking. Participant skills in public speaking, such as the ability to think on the go, develop vocals to have a microphonic voice, and get used to speaking without primarily relying on text, some participants were found need ongoing preparation and adaptation to public speaking. The main ways of becoming prepared for public speaking were to help the participants develop courage and self-confidence, as well as to increase their knowledge and comprehension by continually practicing.            Keywords: english; estage; community service; public speaking

Abstract

Ketika hasil panen berlimpah, permasalahan yang timbul adalah kurangnya pengetahuan dan keahlian pengolahan jeruk nipis. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini betujuan untuk pengembangan desa dalam upaya meningkatkan harga jual jeruk nipis adalah dengan cara memberikan penyuluhan dan sosialisasi kepada ibu-ibu kader PKK yang ada di Desa Bolo Kec. Ujungpangkah Kab. Gresik mengenai taktik pemasaran yang lebih efektif. Rencana pemasaran dapat mengidentifikasi langkah-langkah pengganti yang paling membantu masyarakat mencapai tujuannya. SERUNI ialah minuman berbahan dasar jeruk nipis yang diolah menjadi sebuah produk yang dapat dipasarkan. D perkirakan bahwa rencana pemasaran yang lebih baik akan memungkinkan jeruk nipis dijual dengan harga lebih banyak yang terdapat di Desa Bolo.

Abstract

This activity aims to overcome a problem regarding students' interest in reading at UPTD State Elementary School 014672 Tanjung Alam which is considered still low. This can be identified through the results of the 2022 education report card and also from observations regarding the implementation of the School Literacy Movement (GLS). It is hoped that the literacy movement that has been implemented in schools can help students improve their literacy skills. However, on the contrary, this movement has not been carried out optimally so that literacy skills are still low. Students' literacy skills are low because students' interest in reading is also low. Therefore, teachers in this case should have creativity in accompanying the implementation of school literacy movement activities. One way to increase students' reading comprehension is by implementing a reading challenge method. In this method, students will be invited to go to the reading corner or library to read books they like. The teacher here supervises or monitors students who are reading. Then, 15 minutes before the lesson starts, students report to the teacher the books they have read. For students who read the most, for example in one month, that student is given a reward. Through this activity, it is hoped that students at the school will be able to increase their interest in reading. Keywords: reading challenge method; reading interest; school literacy movement.

Abstract

The village website is a medium for the disclosure of various public information by the government. In line with this, Sumber Baru village, Seputih Banyak District, Central Lampung has a village website that the government can use as a communication medium for village programs, but its management is still not optimal. The aim of this service is to provide assistance to village operators to manage websites, especially in terms of writing articles, taking photos and managing website interface. The method used in this mentoring activity is the ABCD (Asset Based Community Development) method. This mentoring activity will be carried out in September-October 2023 and consists of 5 stages of mentoring, namely coordination, socialization, training, mentoring and evaluation. After completing the mentoring activities, the results of the mentoring can be seen directly on the village website and show that there has been an improvement in website management, such as an increase in the number of news/activities in Sumber Baru Village that are reported on the website. It is hoped that mentoring activities like this will be further increased to improve the quality of village human resources which will have an impact on improving public communication by the village government.            Keywords: mentoring; public communication; village website

Abstract

SMAN 1 Waru is experiencing rapid development, particularly in this digital era, with its students achieving notable success in sports, science, and arts. However, despite these achievements, the management of such accomplishments remains inadequate, rely-ing on manual systems. Consequently, the collection and recording of student achieve-ment data at SMAN 1 Waru are disorganized and often not up to date. Recognizing this issue, the community service team has developed an information system to manage stu-dent achievement data. This system includes comprehensive training to facilitate the ef-ficient processing of student achievements for both internal and external purposes, such as accreditation. The training session took place on March 28, 2024, at SMAN 1 Waru's computer laboratory and was attended by 35 students, website administrators, and three teachers. The training employed various methods, including lectures, practical exercises, and discussions. All participants demonstrated a clear understanding of the application's usage, as evidenced by their improved pre-test and post-test scores. Statistical analysis using the t-test confirmed the significance of this improvement, indicating that the train-ing effectively enhanced participants' understanding of using the student achievement website. Furthermore, the success of the training is reflected in the records of achieve-ment data inputted by the participants.            Keywords: achievement data; information system; website.

Abstract

Generating quality published articles is one of the lecturers' obligations. This can improve lecturer performance and have an impact on increasing higher education accreditation. However, there are still many lecturer articles published in uncredited journals. Apart from that, there are still many lecturers who do not understand the systematics of writing in accredited national journals. Therefore, the faculty of economics and business, Pekalongan University carries out scientific writing and publication training as well as utilizing the SINTA account to improve lecturer performance. The training was carried out in four stages, namely the initial survey stage, the training material socialization stage, the writing practice stage and utilizing the SINTA account, and the activity evaluation stage. The survey results showed that there was an increase in the percentage of participants who understood the systematics of writing in the SINTA journal from 57% before the training to 91% of the total. Meanwhile, the percentage of participants who were able to utilize the SINTA account also increased from 44% before the training was carried out to 82% after the training was carried out.            Keywords: lecturer performance; reserach; article publication
