The most efficient and profitable marketing is the farmers sell cassava to mocaf processed flour companies. Problems in marketing cassava include defective easily products, seasonal production, cassava prices at farmers is low and the benefits of marketing traders are huge. To improve the farmers' efforts, its need government policy to support through extensification and intensification, incentive policy on cassava pricing at farmer level (floor price), and farmer group empowerment (assistance of processed products, equipment aid and establish marketing institution).

Abstract

Subdistrict Sei Bingei as a place in this study with the reason that the District Sei Bingei Corn is the largest production center and is one of the areas of hybrid maize cultivation area in Langkat. This study uses field observations using a questionnaire and interview research instruments, this kind of research is quantitative deskiptif. The population in this study were all farmers who harvest corn hybrids available in three (3) sample villages in the district Bingei Sei. Data analysis model that is used is multiple regression analysis estimated the Cobb Douglas production function. The results of this study are : In the test can be proved that the simultaneous influence of land area variable (X1), seeds (X2), labor (X3), fertilizer (X4) and herbicides (X5) is very significant to the variable production of hybrid corn. Then on a separate effect test 1) land area (X1) , seeds (X2) and herbicides (X5) significantly affects the production of hybrid corn. 2) labor (X3) and fertilizer (X4) does not significantly affect the production of hybrid corn. Conclusion : The independent variables are: land area (X1), seeds (X2), labor (X3), fertilizer (X4) and pesticides (X5) can explain the dependent variable Y (hybrid maize production) of 72.5%. The rest 27.5% is explained by the factors of production are not included in the regression models of this study. The elasticity of production and scale of 2,113 hybrid corn farming. Keywords: Production, Model Estimation, Corn Hybrids

Abstract

This study aims to determine the management of agribusiness horticulture farmers in the District Asahan. Research method using library research method. This research uses literature review method (library research). The discussion in this paper is based on statistical data obtained from BPS from various research results related to the management of agribusiness. From the discussion it can be concluded that the planning of horticultural commodities agribusiness: vegetables and fruits associated with the demand for commodities what the market needs gradually increasingly sensitive farmers, evidenced by the cultivation of new commodities of mushrooms from 2011 to 2012. Farmers have not monitoring the properties of horticultural commodity products: vegetables and fruits more effectively and efficiently, due to the fact that farmers are limited to post-harvest technology knowledge, so they tend to sell their commodities more quickly. Organizing sources of labor production factors in the family consisting of: (husband, wife and children) full of work in cultivating horticultural commodities of vegetables and fruits, has not been calculated as a sacrifice of production costs, because the farmers have not recorded in the bookkeeping of his farm . KUD as a supporting institution in increasing the income of farmers, can not be regarded as a pillar of the economy, due to lack of awareness of farmers to become members of the KUD, evidenced there are still a lot of farmer groups (Gapoktan) horticulture that do not have KUD institutions

Abstract

This study analyzes the demand and supply of rice , as well as looking at the effect of price and non- price variables on demand, supply of rice in the province of North Sumatra . The results showed that rice production is strongly influenced by the price of rice and fertilizer prices , the rise in the price of rice will memngkatkan number of offers in the future , whereas the increase in the price of fertilizer will reduce the number of betas offer , as a component of fertilizer inputs which are relatively large , while the price of substitute goods does not affect the rice offers . Views and expectations and the price elasticity of both input prices and terms of the demand is inelastic , the price of rice and the price variable substitutes insignificant influence on the demand for rice , the rise and fall of both vaniabel will not cause a change in the number of requests , while income and population positive effect on demand rice , when viewed in rice prices and good elasticity and income are both inelastic. Keyword : demand, supply, and rice
