Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of different levels of pituitary extract administration on changes in vulva and cervical mucus secretion as indicators of lust for Kaligesing female goats. The research process was carried out at the Integrated Laboratory of Muhammadiyah University Purworejo and in Donorejo Village, Kaligesing District, Purworejo Regency, Central Java Province. The material used in this study was 24 Kaligesing female goats aged 2-5 years who had given birth at least once. The ingredients used are the pituitary gland and Medroxy progestagen acetate. The treatments given were T0 (injected 5 ml physiological NaCl 0.9%), T1 (injected pituitary extract 0.25 g in 5 ml physiological NaCl 0.9%) and T2 (injected pituitary extract 0.50 g in 5 ml NaCl physiological 0.9%). The experimental design used in this study was a complete randomized design subsampling (CRD) with 3 treatments and 8 replications. The parameters observed were vulva discoloration, swelling of the vulva, increase in temperature of the vulva, abundance of cervical mucus, and nerve mucus fern. The data obtained were analyzed using Chi-square and ANOVA. The results showed that the administration of pituitary extract had no effect (P> 0.05) on all parameters. Vulva color score at T0: 1, 5, 2; T1: 1, 4, 3 and T2: 0, 5, 3. The swelling of the vulva at T0, T1, and T2 is 0.350 cm, 0.375 cm, 0.387 cm. The increase in temperature at T0, T1 and T2 is 0.375 oC, 0.40 0oC, 0.56 2oC. Cervical lender abundance score at T0: 5, 2, 1; T1: 3, 3, 2, and T2: 2, 4, 2. The fern score of the cervical lender at T0: 1, 1, 4, 1, 1, 0; T1: 1, 1, 1, 5, 0, 0 and T2: 0, 0, 1, 2, 2, 3. The pituitary extract can improve the appearance of heat among treatments but is not significant (P> 0.05). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that: Giving pituitary extract in women Kaligesing Goat can improve the appearance of heat that is seen from changes in the color of the vulva, swelling of the vulva, increase in temperature of the vulva, the number of cervical mucus and cervical mucus fern, but not yet significant.

Abstract

The study aims to determine the effect of the addition of beet juice concentration according to the treatment of antioxidant activity and organoleptic quality of etawa goat milk yogurt. The process of research and organoleptic testing was carried out at the Integrated Laboratory of Muhammadiyah University Purworejo and the antioxidant activity test at a private laboratory in Yogyakarta. The material used was 5 liters of etawa goat milk, 1/2 liter beet juice and bacteria Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermopilus, samples were taken of 125 plastic containers with a contents of 25 ml/sample for organoleptic tests and 20 bottles with 30 ml contents/sample for antioxidant activity test. The treatments given were S0 (0%), S5 (5%), S10 (10%), S15 (15%) and S20 (20%). The method used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications. Parameters measured were antioxidant activity and organoleptic quality (color, aroma, taste, and texture). The results showed the treatment of the concentration of the addition of beet juice was significantly different (P <0.05) on the antioxidant activity and color of yogurt but not significantly different (P> 0.05) on the aroma, taste, and texture of yogurt. The results of antioxidant activity were 17.00, 27.25, 36.17, 40.34, and 45.01. Yogurt color values ​​of 1.48, 3.16, 3.04, 4.08 and 4.60. The value of yogurt aroma is 2.40, 2.72, 2.64, 2.68 and 3.08. The value of yogurt is 1.96, 1.72, 1.88, 2.40, and 2.48. Yogurt texture values ​​of 2.68, 2.84, 3.36, 3.28 and 3.60. Beet juice can increase the value of the antioxidant activity and organoleptic quality between treatments but not too significantly (P> 0.05) on the results of organoleptic tests on the aroma, taste, and texture parameters. Further beetroot research needs to be done.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the potential of goat pituitary extract on the heat cycle of the Kaligesing Goat. Improve the performance of the initial lustful behavior of the female Kaligesing Goat. The study was conducted in August 2018 until February 2019 at the Integrated Animal Husbandry Laboratory of the University of Muhammadiyah Purworejo. The material used was a pituitary extract of adult female goats and 24 female Kaligesing goats, aged 2-4 years. Medroxy progestagen acetate for sensual synchronization. The treatments used in the study were T0 (control) injection of 5 ml physiological NaCl 0.9%; T1 injection of pituitary extract 0.25 gr in 5 ml physiological NaCl 0.9%; T2 injection of 0.50 gr pituitary extract in 5 ml physiological NaCl 0.9%. The experimental design used in this study was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 8 replications. The parameters observed were riding other livestock, the sound frequency, and the behavior of moving the tail. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively and tested using Chi-square. The results showed that the administration of pituitary extract had no effect (P> 0.05) on all parameters. It was concluded that the administration of pituitary extract was able to show symptoms of heat but was not yet able to improve the performance of heat behavior.

Abstract

The Central Java Agro Innovation Center for Agricultural Technology Research (BPTP) was built as a means of promotion and demonstration of agricultural land yard technology produced by the Agency for Agricultural Research and Development. Agricultural technology includes conventional direct on-land cultivation, hydroponic cultivation, aquaponic cultivation, horticulture, and crop cultivation in a limited media container. The purpose of this paper is to examine visitors' perceptions of technology display in Central Java AIAT Agro Innovation Park. Data obtained through interviews with visitors and analyzed using a Likert scale. The results of the study show that visitors have a very positive perception of agricultural technology found in the Agro Innovation Park because it suits the needs of the community and can increase household income. However, visitors hope that the agricultural technology display can be better and widely introduced to the public.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how much the relationship of knowledge about nutrition to the decision to buy nutritious food and self-perception of the decision to buy nutritious food. The method in this research is descriptive quantitative research method. Respondents in this study were students of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Muhammadiyah Purworejo levels I and II, totaling 90 respondents. The data collection of this study used a questionnaire method. The scale used in this study is a Likert scale. The test is a description, multiple linear, and F test. The results of this study indicate that the majority of samples were female, amounting to 52.2% with the largest number aged 19 years at 41.1%. Most respondents live with their parents, which is 64.4%. Most respondents get a monthly allowance of 255-500 thousand rupiahs, which is 42.2 percent. Costs incurred to buy monthly food amounted to 255-500 thousand rupiahs, amounting to 47.8 percent. A validity test conducted on three variables shows all data is valid. Linear regression test showed a positive relationship with the regression equation model, namely: Y = 9.93 + 0.272X1 + 0.121X2. F test results showed significant results, which means self-perception and knowledge about nutrition proved to have a significant effect on the decision to consume nutritious food. The conclusions in this study are 1) knowledge about nutrition has a significant influence on the decision to buy nutritious food, 2) self-perception of the influence of a significant effect on the decision to buy nutritious food and 3) knowledge about nutrition and self-perception has a significant influence simultaneously on the decision to buy nutritious food.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) Determine the role of farmer groups on durian production in Kaligono village, Kaligesing sub-district, Purworejo district. (2) Determine the relationship of the role of farmer groups to durian production in Kaligono village, Kaligesing sub-district, Purworejo district. The research design used in the study is a survey method. The study population of all durian farmers who are members of farmer groups in the village of Kaligono, Kaligesing district, Purworejo district, amounting to 262 farmers. The sample of respondents studied was 73 durian farmers determined using the Simple Random Sampling method. Data collection instruments using questionnaires, analysis using Likert scale, and Rank Spearman. The results showed that based on the results of the analysis using the Likert scale, the overall role of farmer groups in durian production obtained an average score of 25.58, which means it was included in the medium category, where the role of each farmer group in durian production was the role of farmer groups as learning units and cooperation units fall into the medium category with percentages of 35% and 37%, while the role of farmer groups as production units falls into the low category with a percentage of 28%. The results of the analysis with Rank Spearman, it is known that there is a significant relationship between the role of farmer groups as a unit of cooperation with the close relationship that is quite strong and there is no significant relationship between the role of farmer groups as learning units and production units.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) Determine the perceptions of corn farmers on the competency of agricultural instructors in Kaibon village, Ambal District, Kebumen Regency; (2) Find out what factors are related to the perception of corn farmers on the competency of agricultural instructors in Kaibon village, Ambal district, Kebumen district. The population in this study was all corn farmers in Kaibon village who tested 191 people. The study sample approved 66 people, determined by referring to, Yamane with an error rate of 10%. Sampling using a proportional random sampling technique. Data collection instruments using a questionnaire with a Likert scale. Data analysis uses the Spearman Rank revision. The results of the descriptive analysis in this study show that (1) the perception of corn farmers on the competency of agricultural instructors in program preparation, preparation of materials, media selection and application of methods in good categories, (2) using internal factors that connect corn farmers and external factors towards perception Corn farmers oppose the competency of agricultural instructors in program preparation, material preparation, media selection, and method application.

Abstract

The objectives of the study were to 1) determine the characteristics of rice seed breeder farmers in Purworejo Regency, 2) determine the relationship between internal and external factors with farmers 'decisions in conducting rice seed breeder farming, 3) determine the internal and external factors that influence farmers' decisions in conducting seed breeding farming rice. The sampling of the study area was determined based on purposive sampling. The chosen location is Purworejo Regency. Samples taken in the village of Awu Awu were 13 people, in Sukomanah village were 10 people, in Seborokrapyak village were 6 people, in Lugu village were 3 people, in Tunjungrejo village were 6 people. Determination of the number of samples based on a Likert scale. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire. The results showed that 1) formal education, availability of facilities and infrastructure, partnership support had a strong relationship with farmers 'decisions, while suitability with land aspects and ease of effort had a very strong relationship to farmers' decisions inbreeding seed farming, 2) partnership support had a significant influence on farmers' decisions.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of elephant ginger (Zingiber officinale Rosc.) Juice on the percentage of carcasses, quail organs. The study was conducted at the Field Laboratory of Animal Husbandry Study Program, Muhammadiyah University Purworejo. The research material used was 120 quail (Coturnix-coturnix Japonica) aged 3 weeks, ginger juice, and commercial feed. The tools used include cages to keep quails the size of each box is 39 cm, length 50 cm, and width 40 cm, feed and beverage containers, digital scales. The treatment provided in this study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 6 treatments and 4 replications. The care given is the level of ginger juice which is 0; 5; 10; 15; 20; 25% of the total commercial feed provided. The parameters observed were internal organs (giblets). The results of ginger juice supplement mixed with drinking water showed that the percentage of the liver did not have a significant effect (P> 0.05) with an amount of 2.72; 2,81; 2.91; 2.97; 2.76; and 2.91%. The percentage of heart has no significant effect (P> 0.05) of 0.75; 0.66; 0.79; 0.75; 0.79; and 0.75%. The percentage of gizzard has no significant effect (P> 0.05) with a total of 1.27; 1.19; 1,11; 1,11; 1.17; and 1.08%. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the administration of elephant ginger extract (Zingiber Officinale Rosc.) In drinking water up to the level of 25% has no significant effect on quail and internal organs (giblets).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the potential ratio of lysine and methionine in the ration to the productivity of super native chickens. The research was conducted at the Field Laboratory of Animal Husbandry Study Program at the University of Muhammadiyah Purworejo. The material used was 100 super native chickens, lysine, methionine, commercial feed, rice bran, milled yellow corn. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 5 replications. The treatment given is the ratio of lysine: methionine which is 0: 0; 0.5: 0.5; 0.6: 0.4; 0.7: 0.3; 0.8: 0.2 of the amount of ration given. The parameters observed were feed consumption, PBBH, conversion, and feed efficiency. The data obtained were analyzed using Analysis of Variance, if there were differences continued with Duncan Test with a significance level of 5%. The results showed that the ratio of lysine and methionine in the ration had no significant effect (P> 0.05) on the consumption of BK as much as 50.074 g; 58,142 g; 56,144 g; 57,638 g; and 56,110 g. PK consumption had no significant effect (P> 0.05) of 6.422 g; 6,432 g; 6,210 g; 6,376 g; and 6,206 g. PBBH had no significant effect (P> 0.05) of 15.520 g; 15,490 g; 15,542 g; 15,530 g; and 15,544 g. The conversion value of BK has no significant effect (P> 0.05) with a value of 0.268; 0.266; 0.278; 0.268; and 0.276. PK conversion value has no significant effect (P> 0.05) with a value of 2.420; 2,410; 2,508; 2,434; and 2,508. The efficiency of BK has no significant effect (P> 0.05) with a percentage of 26.766%; 26,660%; 27,730%; 26,950% and 27,724%. PK efficiency had no significant effect (P> 0.05) with a percentage of 242.012%; 241,044%; 250.726%; 243,692% and 250,674%. The ratio of lysine and methionine in the ration has the potential to increase the productivity of native chicken. Research on the ratio of lysine and methionine needs to be done in the ration to increase the productivity of super native chickens.
