Abstract

Colostrum is the first milk that comes out, often yellow or can also be clear, which contains living cells that resemble white blood cells that can kill germs so that they can protect the baby's body from various infectious diseases. The theory argues that things that stimulate colostrum release, one of which is by doing lactation massage. Lactation massage is a massage along both sides of the spine. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of lactation massage on colostrum release in postpartum mothers in the Working Area of the Bandul Health Center, Meranti Islands Regency. The type of research used in this study is quantitative research with a Pre-Experimental research design with a post-only design approach with a control group. The research time was from June to December 2025. The population in this study were 32 postpartum mothers with a sample of 32 respondents divided into 2 groups, namely 16 intervention groups and 16 control groups with a Purposive random sampling technique. The instruments used were SOPs and observation sheets. The results of the univariate study showed that the average colostrum output in postpartum mothers before being given to the intervention group was 2.25 and after the intervention was 15.88, while the average colostrum output in postpartum mothers before the control group was 1.94 and after the control group was 6.88. The results of the analysis using the paired t-test statistical test obtained a p-value = 0.000. The research output is a journal. The conclusion is that there is an effect of lactation massage on colostrum output in postpartum mothers in the working area of the Bandul Health Center, Meranti Islands Regency. Suggestions for mothers who are breastfeeding are to do lactation massage so that breast milk production increases. Keywords: Lactation Massage, colostrum production, and Post Partum mothers

Abstract

Platelet count examination is one of the important examinations in hematology to help diagnose bleeding disorders. Delaying the examination after blood sampling can affect the results of platelet examination because platelets have the ability to aggregate and adhere. This study aimed to compare platelet count results from immidiate versus 60-minute delays in D-III Health Analyst. The study used a completely randomized experimental design on 15 venous blood samples with EDTA anticoagulant. The examination was carried out using a Dirui BCC 3600 hematology analyzer. The results showed that the average platelet count in the immediate examination was 276,800 cells/mm³ of blood, while in the examination that was delayed for 60 minutes the average was 272,333 cells/mm³ of blood. The results of statistical analysis using the t-dependent test showed a significant difference with a value of p = 0.003 (p 0.05), which indicates that delaying the examination for 60 minutes causes a significant decrease in platelet count results. Based on the results of this study, it is recommended that platelet examination be carried out immediately after sampling to obtain accurate results. Keywords: Platelets, Delayed Examination, EDTA

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is a major infectious disease in Indonesia, with the incidence in Bukittinggi City increasing to 335 per 100,000 population by 2023. This study aims to analyze the multidimensional environmental determinants (physical, socio-cultural, economic, and access to control programs) of TB incidence using a spatial approach. This study is an observational analytical quantitative study with a case-control design. The sample consisted of 110 respondents (55 cases of pulmonary TB patients and 55 healthy controls), selected through purposive sampling for cases and random sampling for controls, with matching based on age, gender, and neighborhood unit (RT). Data collected through interviews, observations, and secondary data from the 2024 SITB period were analyzed using univariate, bivariate (chi-square, OR, 95% CI), and multivariate (backward Wald logistic regression) methods using SPSS. The results showed that the dominant determinants were inadequate home ventilation (p=0.002; Exp β=3.49) and poverty status (p=0.041; Exp β=2.58). Other factors such as poor air quality, limited access to sunlight, and stigma also contributed significantly to the bivariate analysis. TB control requires cross-sectoral interventions focused on improving home ventilation and poverty alleviation to support TB elimination at the local level by 2030.Keywords: Tuberculosis; environmental determinants; home ventilation; poverty; case-control; Bukittinggi

Abstract

This study examines the crisis and transformation of legal culture within banking credit practices in Indonesia through a juridical and sociological analysis of the Supreme Court Decision No. 1102 PK/Pid.Sus/2024. Drawing on Lawrence M. Friedman’s theory of legal culture, Satjipto Rahardjo’s progressive law, and Mochtar Kusumaatmadja’s concept of law as a tool of social engineering, the study reveals a paradigm shift in the banking sector from moral-ethical legal orientation and substantive justice toward formal legality and economic pragmatism. The improper issuance of a Rp39.5 billion credit facility—later classified as a mere “business risk”—illustrates weakened compliance culture, diminished integrity, and the erosion of fiduciary responsibility within banking institutions. Findings highlight a widening gap between law in the books and law in action, inadequate internal and external supervision, and a cultural lag between rapid socio-economic changes and the development of legal values. Consequently, the law loses its moral, preventive, and corrective functions in guiding corporate behavior. This research emphasizes the urgency of reconstructing legal culture in banking through strengthening substantive justice, integrity, Good Corporate Governance, and corporate social responsibility to restore ethical, just, and sustainable legal governance in Indonesia’s banking system. Keywords: legal culture, banking law, prudential principle, law enforcement, non-performing loans

Abstract

Stroke is the third leading cause of death after coronary heart disease and cancer, with the number of stroke cases in West Sumatra reaching 2,345 per 100,000 population (Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, 2025). Many hypertension sufferers neglect stroke prevention efforts due to inadequate knowledge and unhealthy lifestyles. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between knowledge and lifestyle and stroke prevention efforts among adult hypertensive patients in the Ambacang Community Health Center (Puskesmas) working area in 2025.This study was quantitative with a cross-sectional study design. Questionnaires were distributed from March 3 to 8, 2025, to a sample of 73 hypertensive adults. The sampling technique used was the proportion estimation formula. Data analysis is presented in the form of a frequency table using the Chi-square test using SPSS.The study revealed that 50.7% of respondents had good knowledge, 63.0% had a good lifestyle, and 47.9% of respondents had poor stroke prevention efforts. Bivariate analysis showed a correlation between knowledge and stroke prevention efforts in hypertensive adults (p-value = 0.023), and a significant correlation between lifestyle and stroke prevention efforts in hypertensive adults (p-value = 0.000).It is hoped that healthcare workers can use this information as a reference in providing health services, such as providing more comprehensive and accurate information about hypertension and stroke, which will ultimately improve the efforts of hypertensive patients to prevent stroke. Keywords: Stroke, Knowledge, Lifestyle

Abstract

Anredera Cordifolia is a plant that has recently attracted the attention of herbalists and the public as a herbal remedy. Binahong (Anredera Cordifolia) is commonly used for its leaves, tubers, and flowers as medicine. Binahong leaves (Anredera Cordifolia) contain active compounds such as alkaloids, flavonoids, terpenoids, and saponins. Binahong leaves are also a herb that contains vitamin C. Vitamin C is a substance needed by the body that acts as an antioxidant. Vitamin C has two active molecules: a reduced molecule (Ascorbic Acid) and an oxidized molecule (Dehydro Ascorbic Acid). Vitamin C functions in collagen formation in tissues, tooth bonding, tyrosine metabolism, and neurotransmitter synthesis. Furthermore, vitamin C plays a major role in the formation of intercellular collagen. Collagen is a protein compound found primarily in cartilage, the inner layer of bones, dentin, and vascular endothelium. The purpose of this study is to make new innovations on processed binahong leaves (Anredera Cordifolia) in the form of binahong leaf grass jelly, analyze and determine the levels of vitamin C contained in binahong leaves (Anredera Cordifolia) and observe the public's acceptance of binahong leaf grass jelly. The research method used is experimental analytic with quantitative and qualitative analysis using the Uv-Vis spectrophotometry method and acceptance. This study used two experiments with the addition of 140 grams and 180 grams of binahong leaves and the results of the analysis of levels From the quantitative test on the uv-vis spectrophotometry method, the vitamin C content in binahong leaves (Anredera Cordifolia) did not experience a significant decrease and the optimum condition point of the vitamin C content in the test treatment at 120 hours in a sample of 180 grams of binahong leaves (Anredera Cordifolia) with a vitamin C content of 0.393942519. and For the acceptance test using a hedonic test for color, aroma and preferred taste and texture. It can be concluded that binahong leaves have high levels of vitamin C. From the results of the hedonic test, it can be concluded that there are differences in the two samples in terms of aroma and taste, while in terms of color there are insignificant differences, while in terms of texture there is no difference between the two samples. Keywords: Binahong Leaves, Acceptability, UV-Vis Spectrophotometry, Vitamin C

Abstract

The increasing complexity of global work systems has made work-life balance (WLB) a strategic concern in human resource management, particularly within multinational companies. This study aims to examine the influence of WLB on employee performance and job satisfaction through a comprehensive literature review approach. By synthesizing research published between 2021 and 2025, the study identifies key patterns and mediating relationships that link WLB with organizational outcomes. The analysis reveals that WLB positively affects job satisfaction by improving psychological well-being, reducing stress, and enhancing employee motivation. Furthermore, job satisfaction functions as a mediating variable that strengthens the relationship between WLB and performance, indicating that employees who achieve a balanced life tend to perform better and show greater commitment to their organizations. However, the effectiveness of WLB varies across organizations, depending on managerial support, cultural adaptability, and policy flexibility. This study contributes theoretically by consolidating recent empirical evidence on WLB within multinational contexts, and practically by emphasizing the need for HR policies that integrate flexible work arrangements, mental health support, and wellness-oriented reward systems. Keywords: work-life balance, job satisfaction, employee performance, multinational companies, human resource management.

Abstract

Public swimming pools have the potential to become a medium for disease transmission if the water quality does not meet health standards. This study was motivated by the high risk of Escherichia coli (E. coli) contamination in public swimming pools in Padang City. The objectives of this study were to assess the physical parameters of the pool water (temperature, turbidity, odor, and swimmer density), detect the presence of E. coli, and analyze the relationship between the two. This study was a quantitative cross-sectional study using total sampling. The study sample consisted of 10 public swimming pools in Padang City that met the inclusion criteria. Data were obtained through field observations and laboratory tests, then analyzed using Spearman's correlation test with a significance level of 95%. The results showed that temperature and swimmer density mostly met the requirements, while turbidity (80%) and odor (100%) did not meet the requirements. A total of 70% of swimming pools tested positive for E. coli. Statistical tests showed that only turbidity was significantly associated with the presence of E. coli (p 0.05). In conclusion, the physical quality of public swimming pool water in Padang City does not fully meet standards, especially in terms of turbidity and odor. It is recommended that managers strengthen filtration and disinfection systems, conduct routine laboratory tests, and control the number of swimmers to prevent public health risks. Keywords: Public Swimming Pools, Physical Parameters, Escherichia Coli, Water Quality
