Abstract

In industrial work, it is not always the place where the ongoing work is always in a dirty state, sometimes there are several industrial companies that demand cleanliness in production activities or in work activities both cleaning the surrounding environment and cleaning of the workers themselves. The automatic shoe wrapping machine is here to meet these needs where this machine has a function to cover the surface of the shoe sole to the top by using plastic. Because shoes are a sure source it can cause the environment around the work to become dirty, especially on the floor surface and it can also happen on machines that operate using feet. Keywords: wrapping machine, Microcontroller, Fan, Heating Element, Ultrasonic Sensor

Abstract

The achievement of good breast milk production is a key determinant of the success of exclusive breastfeeding. Nutritional status and adequate protein intake in postpartum mothers have a significant contribution to the process of breast milk formation and secretion. Breast milk nutrition can be influenced by maternal nutrient consumption, among other factors. Protein contributes to infant growth, body tissue formation, vital organ development, and immune defense. This cross-sectional quantitative study evaluated the association between maternal animal-protein intake and the adequacy of lactation. The target population comprised breastfeeding mothers registered at Kalibagor Community Health Center throughout the research period. Purposive sampling based on predefined eligibility criteria resulted in a final sample of 49 respondents. Animal protein intake was measured using the Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) or the 24-hour Food Recall Method. This method records the types, portion sizes, and frequency of consumption of various animal protein sources (meat, eggs, fish, milk).  This study found that good animal protein intake was the most common category among respondents, with 21 respondents (42.9%), and good breast milk production smoothness was found in 26 breastfeeding mothers (53.1%). There was a significant relationship between animal protein intake and smooth breast milk production among breastfeeding mothers at the Kalibagor Community Health Center, indicated by a p-value of 0.008 and an odds ratio of 4.861. Relevant institutions should continue to intensify education on the role of animal protein intake in supporting smoother breast milk production among breastfeeding mothers. Keywords: Animal Protein, Breast Milk, Breastfeeding Mothers

Abstract

The 150 kV substation at PT. PLN (Persero) Central Sumatra Load Control Unit (UP2B SUMBAGTENG), particularly the Dumai Industrial Area (KID) substation, often experiences significant voltage drops, especially during peak load times.. Voltage drops occur due to high consumer loads and network length with an average of 139 kV during WBP at the end of the GI. The voltage recorded at GI KID averages 139 kV during WBP and can drop to 130 kV (-13.3% of its nominal 150 kV voltage), while on holidays or outside WBP the average voltage increases to 148 kV, approaching the nominal 150 kV. This condition has an impact on the quality of electric power and consumer satisfaction, especially for industrial customers and business centers with high power needs. This study aims to analyze the causes of voltage drops and provide solutions to keep the system voltage stable according to SPLN No. 1:1995 (-10% to +5%). The proposed solution is the installation of capacitor banks in parallel on the 150 kV BUSBAR GI KID. The simulation results show that the installation of a 1×25 MVAr capacitor increases the voltage at 10:00 from 143 kV to 151.4 kV (+5.9%), at 16:00 from 140 kV to 148.6 kV (+6.1%), and at 19:00 from 130 kV to 139.3 kV (+7.1%). The installation of a 2×25 MVAr double capacitor increases the voltage even higher: at 10:00 to 160.5 kV (+12.2%), at 16:00 157.8 kV (+12.7%), and at 19:00 to 148.8 kV (+14.5%), demonstrating the effectiveness of reactive power compensation to overcome voltage drops. By implementing a capacitor bank, the voltage can be controlled so that PT. PLN (Persero)'s electrical equipment and consumer equipment remain safe, equipment disruptions can be minimized, and lighting is not dim. This solution is more appropriate for customers with large loads, such as industrial and business centers, because their reactive power requirements are significant, while household customers are generally regulated through distribution networks and distribution transformers. This study proves that the use of capacitor banks is effective in improving voltage quality, preventing undervoltage, and maintaining voltage stability on the 150 kV radial network, especially in the KID Substation. Keywords: voltage drop, capacitor bank, 150 kV GI, SPLN, reactive power compensation

Abstract

Population growth is one of the main factors contributing to the increase in municipal solid waste generation. Padang City, as the capital of West Sumatra Province, has experienced rapid development in residential, commercial, educational, and service sectors, resulting in a growing demand for waste management services. This study aims to analyze population growth projections, estimate municipal solid waste generation, and evaluate the future demand for waste management facilities in Padang City for the period 2026–2029. A quantitative descriptive approach was employed using secondary data on population and municipal solid waste generation from 2022 to 2025. Population projection was estimated using the geometric growth method, while waste generation was projected based on per capita waste generation. The projected waste generation was then compared with the existing waste management facilities to evaluate future infrastructure requirements. The results indicate that the population of Padang City is projected to increase from 965,050 people in 2025 to approximately 1,029,526 people in 2029, with an average annual growth rate of 1.63%. Consequently, municipal solid waste generation is projected to increase from 244,179.26 tons/year in 2025 to approximately 257,407 tons/year in 2029, with an average per capita waste generation of 0.685 kg/person/day. Existing waste management facilities consist of 127 temporary waste collection sites (180 units), 11 dump trucks, 19 arm roll trucks, 175 waste banks, and the Aia Dingin Landfill covering 33 hectares with a capacity of 4–4.8 million tons. Increasing waste generation requires optimization of waste collection systems, expansion of waste management facilities, strengthening of waste bank programs, and development of waste treatment facilities to support sustainable municipal solid waste management. The findings of this study are expected to provide valuable input for future waste management planning in Padang City. Keywords: population projection, municipal solid waste, waste management facilities, waste management, Padang City
