Abstract

Establishment Jetis sub terminal agribusiness in the region of Bandungan as a vegetable center market is the solution to increase availability of food in sufficient quantity and quality at affordable prices and distribution by society. On the other hand it opens new jobs that workers carrying. Workers carrying also referred to as porters and manol. This study aims to identify and describe the role of social capital on the workers carrying with sellers and buyers in the sub terminal agribusiness Jetis, Bandungan Semarang regency. This type of research is qualitative with a constructivist approach, which began November 2016-February 2017 on the workers carrying / manol in Jetis sub terminal agribusiness, Bandungan. Data collected through observation and interviews. The results of this study indicate social capital as a means of supporting the success of the progress of the sub terminal agribusiness Jetis. The existence of strong social capital role in the sustainability of economic enterprises and also in employment any market participants. Research shows that their trust in the form of mutual trust, honesty, openness and helpfulness. Then forms the norm that happens is to be professional and responsible job. Furthermore, the network manifest in the form of kinship and were both looking for life.

Abstract

Manam'mi tradition contains a set of informal values ​​or norms, such as mutual trust, mutual understanding, equality in values ​​and behavior, mutual assistance, and mutual help that forms the structure of society and becomes a bond among the community members which is effective for coordination and cooperation in achieving the common goals. Manam'mi is one of coastal community local wisdom which contains marine resource management components. The Eha concept in a series of Manam'mi ritual embodies the natural resources sustainability as well as the marine ecosystem balance and provides opportunities for other living creatures to breed, so that the continuity of natural resources supplies on land and at sea are ensured. Sammi is the ecological intelligence of Miangas indigenous people in managing the marine resources by using environmentally friendly (eco-friendly) fishing gear. The focus of this study is to describe how the implementation of Manam'mi ritual in community life in Miangas Island is viewed from the sustainable development, social capital and culture capital perspective. This study used descriptive-qualitative approach. The approach was done by doing interview, observation, documentation study, and inductive model data analysis. Manam'mi tradition can be regarded as social capital of Miangas society because it involves belief, norms, and relationships/networks between the stakeholders. The study shows that Manam'mi contains three sustainable development approaches, namely environmental, economic, and socio-cultural approaches.

Abstract

This research is meant to explore how local employees who work in International hotels in Dili, the capital city of Timor Leste adapt to the working environment. Without enough knowledge about hospitality, they acquire the skills through the knowledge transfer from the senior workers and through learning by doing. This research uses qualitative approach. In order to obtain data, in-depth interviews were done with 16 employees of the two hotels under research, i.e., Novo Turismo Hotel and Timor Plaza hotel. The research finds that kinship value in their working environment helps to accelerate transfer knowledge for the employees in Novo Turismo Hotel dan Timor Plaza. The process brings positive effects to training fund, potentials of internal conflicts and the cost of damages caused by the negligence of local employees.

Abstract

Sebagai layaknya buku ber-genre ilmiah, buku ini terbahas dengan sistematika yang apik dan basis teori yang kokoh. Diawali dari bagian Pengantar yang membahas situsi krisis kehidupan (lingkungan) yang disebabkan oleh kesalahan paradigmatik, yaitu dominasi paradigma Cartesian dan Newtonian. Tetapi juga menegaskan prasyarat mengatasi masalah yaitu perubahan paradigm (paradigm shift) dengan mengacu kerangka pikir Thomas Kuhn.

Abstract

The purposes of this study are: (1) To estimate the real number of people who live- in Kelurahan Karang Indah; (2) To analyze the pattern of domestic water consumption of Kelurahan Karang Indah community; (3) To analyze the ethnic characteristics of the domestic water consumption patterns; (4) To analyze the adaptation and mitigation community of the clean water. The results showed that the real number of people who live in Kelurahan Karang Indah was two times higher than the statistic data. The water consumed for domestic activities was 51.6 liters/day/capita which is higher than Indonesian National Standar (46 liters/day/capita). There are no significant differences in the patterns of domestic consumption between dry season and rainy season. Awyu people were known for using more water than other tribes especially for bathing, drinking and washing, while for cooking Marind people use more water than other tribes. There is no specific adaptation- in clean water consumptions. The people adaptation for water consumption are indicated by their habit of drinking less water than required, queuing up at night to get clean water and using poor water quality for bathing or washing.

Abstract

This article describes the corruption case of aircraft procurement in Jayawijaya Regency, Papua, in the 2002 and 2003 Fiscal Year, under the leadership of Regent Jayawijaya, David A. Hubi. This article is the result of field research using a qualitative method with an analytical descriptive approach. The results of this study indicate that, the direct involvement of Regent Jayawijaya with a view to enriching oneself or others is, in fact, not too great. Corruption is mostly done by subordinates and entrepreneurs who become partners. However, as a leader, like it or not, and ready or not, David A. Hubi still has to take responsibility. David A. Hubi was found guilty by the Court on charges: (1) unable to control budget use properly which results in markups; and (2) abuse power to issue to policy of his own volition.

Abstract

The village Bokonusan is the location on the Semau Island and the district of Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara. Norma and refers to the contructual obligations between members of society in accordance with the rules of the costums, trust that refer to expectation and goals together in building in accordance with the values of mutual cooperation of solidarity of the community. As for the porpouse of research to, give me a description of application of the local Dale Esa in the life together in the village Bokonusan, as well as explain the elements of what is contained in the wisdom of Dale Esa as social capital in communities Bokonusan village. The method used is a qualitatve and approach to the contructivism oh the research descriptive aksplanative. Interwoven ily tradition, a marriege, birth, death, a new garden work (teh management of the land) and conflic resolution. The application of valeu to keep in daily life as from of social interaction. In the wisdom of Dale Esa the cooperation between the community refers to social relationships between societies so that, the social network, the obligation, prohibition, the rigth have, between members of the community to help each other as a from social norm, the emergance of the hope and goals together to build together as result the trust.

Abstract

This paper discusses the contribution of religion and political power in social conflicts and mass riots that have occurred in Indonesia over the past three decades. This article was built based on data from field research conducted by the author in Pekalogan City and in Surakarta City after the May 1998 riots; and the results of a literature study on the struggle of people of Chinese descent in Indonesia. Based on the results of these studies it can be noted that religion and political power have a very large contributions of the occurrence of social conflicts and mass riots in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research is motivated by factors that affect the growth and development of toddlers in final disposal sites (TPA), namely those related to nutritional status, chronic disease or infection, health care, environmental sanitation. The research objective was to determine the factors that influence the growth and development of children under five who live around TPA Blondo, Bawen, Semarang Regency. This research used quantitative descriptive method with univariate analysis data processing. The study population was probably 30 toddlers 1 - 5 years old with a total sampling technique of 30 toddlers. Results of the study: 22 toddlers (73.33%) with good nutritional status and 8 under-fives (26.67%) of malnutrition. There were 21 children under five (70%) who had suffered chronic disease and 9 children under five (30%) never had chronic disease. There were 27 toddlers in an environment that had adequate sanitation status (90%) and 3 under-fives (10%) who were in an environment with insufficient sanitation status. Health care with sufficient criteria as many as 26 toddlers (86.67%) and less criteria as many as 4 children under five (13.33%). Factors affecting growth and development; lack of nutrition, food intake for toddlers is not balanced.
