Abstract

This research entitled “Bentuk Dan Gaya Penuturan Film Dokumenter berbasis Budaya Daerah; PBXII: Berjuang Untuk Sebuah Eksistensi, Karya IGP. Wiranegara” (The Form And Style of Speech in Documentary Film Based On The Local Culture; PBXII: Fighting For An Existence, by IGP. Wiranegara). The research aims to describe the form and style of speech as well as the dramatic plot of the film. IGP Wiranegara, through the documentary film, tries to present the outstanding form and style in conveying the theme of the film. The film is told dramatically by giving the point of view of strong character through the description of Paku Buwana XII. In the film, Paku Buwana XII is described to try hard in order that Surakarta Palace continuously exists as part of the Central Java cultures, especially Surakarta (Solo).Keywords: form, style, documentary film, local culture.

Abstract

Banjaran Sengkuni is a play that tells the story of the life of a wayang character named Sengkuni, from his birth to tragic death. Through the play the puppeteer believes that the real character of a figure is formed not only from birth but also since the process of fetal occurrence through sexual intercourseof the parents. Besides the process in the womb, the character is also formed by the environment that surrounds its life: the environment of the family, the surrounding community, and the universe.The character of Sengkuni in Banjaran Sengkuni was largely determined by the process of development of the baby or fetus in the womb, namely through the results of adultery or adultery which is culturally considered negative, even sin. He inherited his father’s character, Gandarwa named Setibar. The characters which could be observed include: baby Sengkuni was born with a handsome face but fanged, just like his father having fangs. Abstract

A leader in this regard is the head of the village is very instrumental in developing the potential existed in his village. This research studies about the role of village head in promoting traditional arts, especially in the village of Banyusidi, Pokis, Magelang. Central Java. The research method is qualitative with multidiscipline approach. The result of this study is that the village head has u role in advancing the potency of traditional arts in the village. Thefirst is the role of village head as a motivator, that is by giving his people motivation to be able to develop the arts‘ The second is village head as a facilitator providing the opportunity for people to run the arts. The third is to become a patron and decision maker for his people. With those three things, then, head of the village is believed to promote traditional arts in his village.Key words: role, leader, traditional art.

Abstract

The aim of research entitled Enrichment Dance Gandrungan Gagah Surakarta style is to describe the dance gandrungan gagah Surakarta style. The target achieved of the research is an improvement of textbooks in 2014. The method used is librarian study that studies the books that have been published in advance. Some flaws in the book and then enhanced by adding dance gandrungan different characters. Model analysis using interpretive narrative. The results were obtained additional repertoire of dance descriptions gandrungan Garuda Yaksa and Niwatakawaca gandrung. Previous research has been completed Gathutkaca dance, Kelana, Menakjingga gandrung. Overall a description gandrungan gagah dance Surakarta styles include Gathutkaca Kelana, Menakjingga, GarudaYaksa and Niwatakawaca gandrung.Keywords: gandrungan, gagah, dance, Surakarta.

Abstract

Public toilets for persons with disabilities were important tool used as a support for the smooth functioning of disabled persons in the public sphere. Portable public toilets were usually used to supportcertain activities that were considered incapable of being facilitated by permanent toilets. This studyaims to determine the level of anthrophometry and accessibility of people with disabilities in portabletoilets in Surakarta. To find out if the disabled people had difficulty or even felt the ease and comfortwhen using the facility. Anthrophometric measurements were essential to see if they fitted their dimensions with the needs of the users, especially those with disabilities.The research object was a portable public toilet located on Jl. Slamet Riyadi Surakarta. The methodused is descriptive with qualitative approach supported by quantitative data, or could also be calleddouble research strategy that was the use of various methods in solving a research problem. Quantitative here using numerical data from field observation measurements, then compared with referencesand in the analysis based on interpretation of researchers taken from field data and interviewees.The results of the research were expected to be input to the Surakarta City Government and otherstakeholders, in order to provide a good public facility in accordance with the rules of anthrophometryof portable public toilets that could be made to function optimally. Abstract

This article will strive a kind of exploration studies arround multiculturalism and its impact to the dance and performance appearance in Yogyakarta dance tradition. Multiculturalism and its shaping have several elements which support the new kind of creative process. In the case of Yogyakarta dance tradition, it regards to the extra-tolerance sense of the aesthetic authority. Based on these evidences, this article will explore a study of traditional sources from the dance naration texts collected by the palace of Yogyakarta. In fact, it has been strongly emphased on the archi val studies and explanation process through the heuristic explanation. On the other hand, this article would like to examine a relationship between a sense of extra-tolerance inside the dance tradition itself and the creative requirement belong to the new kind ofprocess itself With an arts histori cal approach, this article presents an explorative study of the multiculturalism as ingredients which improve the development of new mainstream of creative process in the field of dance tradition fluently. Keywords: multiculturalism, extra-tolerance, and creative process.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the characteristics of ceramic products produced by the craftsmen in thecity of Klaten, especially in Bayat and the surrounding districts. Background of this research is theimportance of the existence of Bayat districts that are located between the city of Solo and Yogyakarta.They are supposed to be a major tourist destination but until now they are still not as crowded asKasongan in the city of Jogjakarta. In addition, another consideration in producing ceramic Bayat isfamous for using a tilted position round or often called perbot skewed.There are some intriguing questions founded in this research including: whether the ceramic productsproduced in Bayat under the influence of ceramic crafts center from the nearby towns; what are thevarious products produced by using oblique rotation tools; what kind of finishing techniques areused by the craftsmen in executing the final results of ceramic products; is there any natural finishingdevelopment in the area of ceramic craft center in Bayat and its surroundings and also other issuesconcerning the marketing of products. This study uses a qualitative research method that is supportedby data from several sampling craftsmen selected from representatives of the southern region of themain road and the north Pagerjurang main road. Interviews are also used in the data searching andsupported by the image data using a digital camera.The research is targeted to publish original ceramic products of Bayat and variations so that the datawill be useful for a promotional tour of the area in order to make it more widely known in thecommunity. Identification of ceramic products in Bayat and the surrounding districts in the study ofaesthetics, form and function are expected to provide a clear explanation whether the ceramic productsof Bayat is compiled in a book as a learning tool. Detailed product identification can be usedalso as a good reference for the craftsmen, community, artists and students to be able to developceramic products in particular way in order to become more attractive and innovative.Keywords: Bayat, Ceramic, Aesthetic form and function

Abstract

AbstractAbstract art through its abstraction mode is an attempt to explore the essence and existence of humanityin the dimension of spirituality. Abstraction is able to present a deeper meaningful space because of theopen dialogue between artists - works - spiritual observers. This research was conducted to explore andexplore the transcendental and spirituality dimensions especially in contemporary Indonesian abstractpainting as part of the expression and reflection of the search for the essence of the artist. In addition,historical aspects and discourse dynamics will also be analyzed in order to obtain a comprehensiveunderstanding in understanding the development of abstract art in Indonesia. This study uses qualitativemethods by optimizing studies on written sources and literature relating to the study of contemporaryIndonesian abstract painting by further analyzing the historical aspects and dynamics of discourse. Datawere analyzed using content analysis method. Abstract

Abstract This study discusses John Berger's book entitled: The Way of Seeing which was first printed in 1972. The purpose of this study is to urge photographers to study harder and implement critical theories about concepts and philosophies that support photography. This language urgency helps foster the critical spirit and instinct of students who are studying photography.This research departs from a literature review. Because of its basic research, with qualitative descriptive forms, it is in the search for data sources on primary and secondary data. Primary data is Berger's original work entitled How to Look, while the secondary one is a review and commentary on Berger's main work by other authors.The results of this study show the concept of thought of John Berger: Seeing the building of our existence in the world that surrounds us, therefore we can explain in words, whatever is around us. Seeing not only the affairs of the mechanical reaction of the eye organs (lens, retina, etc.) but there is the activity of choosing from so many things outside us that are visible to the eye. Keywords: John Berger, How to Look, Critical Theory, Photographer

Abstract

Pendok is one part of kris furniture elements that are always attached to warangka or sarong kris. The main function of pendok is to wrap the gandar in order to protect the kris blade. Pendok keris also has other functions, namely symbolic and social functions. Pendok of Surakarta style kris mostly have a form with a variety of ornamental applications. Along with the dynamics of development, there has been an innovation in the application of Panji-Sekartaji motif which represents the development of wayang beber motif. This is in accordance to the basic concept of ornamental variety, with the function of adding beauty so that the pendok, when it is applied to the warangka, will make the kris interesting and beautiful. This writing uses interactive analysis method where data analysis that is used to analize problems related to the application of Panji-sekartaji motif on the pendok of Surakarta-style kris. Keywords: pendok, kris, ornament, motives and Surakarta.
