Abstract

Life of the community adapt to the environment of the mountains Sewu in Pacitan was an extraordinary experience as a shared learning. Environmental influences and untapped natural potential as a knowledge of the history of the earth is not yet considered the potential. Along with the spirit andincredible work ethic encourage villagers in Pacitan build a tourist village efforts as new destinations in Pacitan. Tourist village into a model development of creative economic development as a basis of economic growth in the region and regionally in East Java. The field research uses an ethnographic approach as an attempt to read the dynamics of society and read the regulation on tourism inPacitan. An ethnographic approach “being” or ontology of this research project wants a “mapping” or the travel patterns of rural tourism so as to contribute to government policy. Government policies in the three (3) provinces, namely, East Java, Central Java and Yogyakarta associated with the receipt of the plan penggunungan Sewu region into areas of “geo karst” in the UN world body UNESCO. Travel patterns tourist village Sooka as micro area managed by the society has tremendous potential mobilize community-based economy. Objects managed by communities and re-enjoyed by the public is an important pillar of the new economy as an alternative income increase Sooka Village community.The pattern has been found Sooka Tourism Village Travel, Travel Pattern 1, Pattern 2 and Pattern Journey Journey 3. Abstract

Night watch guardhouse (gardu pos ronda) is one of Indonesian cultural uniqueness forms compared with other states remaining to exist up to now. In such the condition, guardhouse is also a witness of historical course from several eras accompanying. The uniqueness of guardhouse lies, among otherthings, at its form and the system accompanying it. The structure of guardhouse is as same as other architecture construction consisting of floor, wall and roof. Several guardhouses, by its floor structure, consist of kolong (space underneath main construction) floor and guardhouse exactly on the land. Amid the architectural culture abandoning kolong structure particularly in Java, the structure of guardhouse kolong is an interesting topic to study. It is because the kolong structure is the reflection of Javanese floor construction structure in the past. The objective of research is to find out: (a) what the structure of guardhouse construction is as the interior element; (b) in the present context, how the change of the development of guardhouse function is and what activities it serves in addition to guard security. In order to achieve the objective, the research method employed was a qualitative research.The research was taken place in Surakarta city. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling one taking all of guardhouses with kolong structure existing in RW 19, Kelurahan Mojosongo, Jebres Subdistrict, Surakarta City. Techniques of collecting data used include interview, recording, librarystudy, measurement, and documentation. The data validation is conducted using data triangulation, while the data analysis is done by using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model of analysis.Keywords: guardhouse, kolong structure, function.

Abstract

This article is a part of research result about Architecture Profile of Prince’s fashion: “The Artistic Value of Interior of Dalem Wuryaningratan of Kasunanan Palace Surakarta”. The research objective is to reveal the artistic value of interior of Dalem Wuryaningratan. The research result shows that in the matter of the artistic of its interior design, dalem pangeran always oriented toward symbolic classification based on two, four, and eight. The view of classification two always manifested with kiwa-tengen, atas-bawah, or loroning-atunggal is always combined with something bigger and absolute. The view is not contrast; it is a relationship between two different things but it is harmonious. The balance controller is a point in the middle (the third point) which is absolute or God. Symmetric conception in interior element design shows the meaning of harmony. The conception is a manifestation from the meaning of balance with a purpose to reach the harmony of live, which means living harmoniously each other, living harmoniously with nature, and living harmoniously with God. The dualism conception is reflected in the room structure, door, window and colonnade/saka arrangement, and even in the structuring of furniture.

Abstract

Research on the creation of works of art entitled The Creation Studies of Fine Art on Wayang Beber Using Collage Techniques by Utilizing Newspapers, in 2011 by Much. Sofwan Zarkasi aims to open up wide and open opportunities related to creativity in traditional art and in an increasingly globalized environment. It also creates works of art on Beber puppets using collage techniques and newsprint as an alternative form in viewing works of art on Beber puppet that has used paint manufacturer with natural dyes and painting techniques. The creation of art works on beber puppets with collages technique using newspapers is an engineering development that is undertaken in the work of art of collage using feathers (hair painting) and collage using banana tree bark. The novelty of the study on the creation of arts works in this research is on visual form and technique that has been there in the beber puppet that is using decoration techniques, natural dyes and the manufacturer. The research is the creation of works of art on beber puppet made by collage technique using glue and old newspapers and not using any dyes. The method applied in the creation of the work on this research is a method of experimentation that is the process of conducting experiments put forward from designing plan, preparation and realization of the work in the media. Abstract

Creativity is the ability to create something, which always develops in a person, including of crafts works and puppet. The study purposes were reviewed and data analyzed on: the creativity in the craft work, the diversity of puppet craft creations, design the creative puppet development and explain various examples of leather craft works on Purwa puppet development. The study method was adopted qualitative research character. The data analysis was used qualitative reasoning and iconography comparison. From the research results can be formulated the notion of creativity and creative craft creation. In practice of leather craft creation was required of art workmanship foundation, the datasource for exploration, and work practices methods. The diversity of the puppet art in Indonesia it can be noted that there are 55 types of puppets, which are mostly found in Java, and the most popular, widespread, and most of characters forms is the Purwa puppet. In the puppets creation was throughthe process of drawing, pattern or mbabon, inlaid, painting, and finishing. Subsequently reported the form of various creations of leather craft-themed puppet with an explanation, which including of the creation of puppets development for performances, works of leather craft was developed from Purwapuppet element, some new creations puppets, puppet crafts for wall hangings, decorativelighting and puppets patterned shutter, and leather puppets craft for souvenirs.Keywords: puppets, creative, crafts, diversity.

Abstract

The good education tools and infrastructure becomes one of the important components in supporting the improvement of national education system. Furniture is one of the supporting tools. Furniture is designed to support the user’s activities in this case, they are children. It means that if their physicsgrow in accordance to their ages, consequently, the table and the chair must be suitable to their size. When it is ignored, it will influence their physical growing and decreases relieve their concentration in the learning process because of the uncomfortablefurniture and it even can influence their health. This research aims to get a description of furniture design in the early children’s study room in PAUD/ TK AL KHOIR Surakarta based on the erghonomy and anthropometry. The children table, chair, and shelf become the research focus because the furniture directly in touch with the children when they have learning process in class.The research uses the method of descriptive with qualitative and quantitative approach or namely the multiple strategy of research. It means that it uses various methods in solving the research problems.Quantitative approach is meant to use numeric data resulted from the field measurement observation, then it is compared with the referred reference and analyzed based onresearcher’s interpretation sourced from field analysis. The result of this research shows that during this time, anthropometry size used in furniture making has commonly been suitable with the children size of 6 to 7 years. Otherwise, there is still a note that is the table width needs to be increased, the hip seat and the backrest need to be adapted to the form of children hip bone and backbone or it can be given foam in order to make comfortable when the children sit for a long time. Abstract

Mulat Sarira(Bali language) literally means self instropection. This term is often used in dialogue or monologue in lakon for dance drama, wayang, or other performing arts. Mulat Sarira is also used as a title of Karawitan Composition. It started from the idea of the writer’s anxiety towards social phenomena which tends to be unnatural. This work tries to reflect human attitude which do not obey the rule, which is not afraid, ashamed, and sinful when they do unrespectable deed. Instropection becomes a realizing expression through oral tradition approach (it is dominant in Hindu spiritual practices) and that is a purpose of this work. Vocal becomes an important and dominant element in this work for it is placed as a medium for religious advice giving which is hoped to affect the spiritual and physical harmony in social life.Keyword : social phenomena, realizing, treatment(garap), vocal vocabulary.

Abstract

This research reveals the theatrical dramaturgy of realism and its staging strategies. As a dramaturgy study, history, theory, and theatrical conventions of realism are also revealed, from the beginning and development in the West to Indonesia. Furthermore, how a realism theater is created What are the dramatic and artistic tactics carried out by the director to bring the illusion of reality on the stage. This research is a literature review that makes books or other sources of literature the object of research.The results of the study explain that the history of the emergence of the theater of realism in the West is a rejection of the classical theater style that presents gods, fairies, and other mythological creatures. Theatrical realism conventions are themes around social life and psychology; the characters have sociological, psychological, and physiological dimensions; linear plot; settings are made static; absence of symbols; the fourth wall; and catharsis. The dramatic and artistic tactics carried out by the director are based on chaos, a personal experience experienced by the director.Key words: dramatic tactics, artistic tactics, realism, and the illusion of reality

Abstract

The choice of clown (painting) puppet as the object of research is because of its simple and funny shape. This simple shape of puppet is very appropriate for a reference in making the pattern, inlaying and painting of the leather puppet for the beginner. Clown leather puppet /panakawanis a typical thing in Indonesia and it cannot be found in Indian where the original story comes from. The objectives of research are: to classify and to elaborate the inlay pattern/shape, size and motive applied to the clown puppet group; to explain the process and result of painting applied to Surakarta and Yogyakarta styles of clown puppet; as well as to express the clown puppet development creation. The research method used in this current study is a qualitative research method so that the research process is conducted in cycle, with repeatedly, ongoing or sustainable data collection activity. The result of research shows that the clown puppet group could be divided into 5 types consisting of 13 puppet characters in which each character of clown puppet is given puppet pattern example, inlay motiveshapes, and painting manifestation, in both Surakarta and Yogyakarta styles. The pattern and in lay of clown leather puppet group is much different from that of other leather puppet group. The difference is that the pattern and inlay of clown leather puppet group are simpler than that of jangkahan or bokongan puppet group. The unity of inlay and painting has been seen clearly in the painting inlay shape that becomes an overlapping decoration.Inlay is the border of painting motive and painting is the filler/color of inlay motive.Keywords: clown, leather puppet, creation.
