Abstract

Gemala Sari village, located on the outermost island adjacent to Malaysia and the Indonesian island of Batam, holds a natural and exotic beauty. The challenging condition of access roads to the villages will add to the challenges of the natural tourist adventurers who are currently being loved now. This becomes interesting if the village community independently wants to manage the ecotourism potential while at the same time introducing other potential potentials in the village. The red lake is caused by the red water due to the swampy ground. The red lake is still somewhat closed and has not been touched by the ignorant hands of the community so that the red lake is still maintained its naturalness. Independent community service activities in collaboration with students of the University of Riau develop the natural potential into their thematic programs. The implementation method is in the form of assistance in realizing ecotourism, and the results of the output in the form of promotional videos of Tasik Merah ecotourism are expected to begin to open people's eyes to develop this potential. From the results of the evaluation of assistance, it is very necessary for the participation of extension participants, especially the local government, to be able to manage this potential on their own. The team hopes that this activity can foster their motivation to be selective and active in media. Smart and critical attitude in media that is grown makes them village youths become a virus for their friends who have not participated in tourism promotion. They also hope that the activity can be carried out sustainably, bearing in mind that this is not just education but also entertainment and foster motivation in developing the country by utilizing the potential around them.

Abstract

Plastic has become a thing that we often encounter in everyday life. Various household appliances, cutlery, school equipment, and others still make plastic as the primary material. Plastic waste is the most challenging rubbish to be decomposed by soil naturally. Even in the span of years, the land will not succeed in breaking down plastic waste into organic compounds that can be reused by nature. Contrary to this, the consumption of plastic goods continues to increase every year, not least in the village of Kampung Jawa, Solok City. People who still choose to use plastic materials are the leading cause of the large amount of plastic waste produced by this village office. Through the Community Student Service Andalas University 2018, the "plastic waste diet" method has been carried out in the community. This movement aims to increase public awareness about the dangers of plastic waste to the environment and the importance of good habits to minimize plastic waste production. This method is socialized through counseling conducted to provide education to the community. The advice was chosen as an effective and efficient activity method to create good habits to minimize plastic waste. The counseling activities carried out successfully increased public awareness in reducing plastic waste. The community is interested in independently managing plastic waste produced in the surrounding environment, from collection to processing plastic waste into useful items. Community education and intelligence in managing plastic waste are very much needed; even minimizing plastic waste needs to be instilled early on to achieve a clean, healthy, and comfortable environment.

Abstract

Corruption is an extraordinary crime (extraordinary crime), so the handling must be done with extraordinary efforts. In this reform era, corruption is increasingly rampant involving various actors, from the central government to the lowest. From Transparency International (TI) data, Indonesia's 2017 Corruption Perception Index (CPI) is 37 and is ranked 96 out of 180 countries surveyed globally. Responding to the increasingly prevalent phenomenon of corruption, the world of education has begun to improve to answer the challenges of the swift currents of corruption. One of the efforts made is curriculum change. Curriculum changes that have been intensively discussed lately are the inclusion of anti-corruption character education at the pre-school to tertiary education levels. The purpose of this activity is to provide OSIS administrators with an understanding of anti-corruption character education, including understanding, rules, and implementation of anti-corruption character education in junior high schools. In contrast, the methods used are lectures, question and answer methods, and simulations with film screenings about anti-corruption characters in schools. The results of this activity showed that of the 30 (thirty) OSIS administrators who attended this event, almost 99% of them knew that corruption was a violation of the law. They could also explain corrupt practices that occurred in the school environment and their family environment, and sometimes they also become the perpetrator of the action.
