Abstract

Athirah movie is a film that lifts the reality of polygamous life, polygamy is an issue that is still a debate in the community. This is quite interesting because polygamy is still something that causes pros and cons in Indonesian society. Different from previous polygamy-themed films, this film is a true story of a wife's struggle as well as the mother of Vice President Indonesia, Jusuf Kalla. In theory, many women have expressed disagreement on polygamous marriages, but in practice women are always in a cornered position, have no choice and are difficult to bid or even have no ability to reject men's desire for polygamy. Starting from this, some Indonesian filmmakers view the interesting polygamy phenomenon to be lifted into a film masterpiece. This study aims to determine the impact of polygamy for wives and children represented in Athirah films viewed from the level of reality, level of representation and ideology level.This study used qualitative methods analyzed by semiotic analysis of John Fiske. Subjects and objects in this study is the observation of the audio and visual display in the scenes of the film Athirah with data collection techniques used are observation, documentation, and literature study.The results of this study show there is a polygamy representation in the Athirah film. The polygamy representation contained in the film is seen from the three levels stated by Jhon Fiske: at the level of reality, the impact of polygamy on the wife and child is seen in aspects of appearance, manner of speech, behavior, gestures, expression and environment. At the representational level, the technical and conventional codes present in the Athirah film depicting the impact of polygamy on wives and children are reflected through aspects of camera, lighting, music and sound. The level of ideology that can be inferred, the depiction of the polygamy values and the polygamous wife's struggle so that the ideology concluded is the ideology of patriarchy and feminism.Keywords: Representation, Film, Polygamy, Semiotics, Impact

Abstract

Romanticism is an overflow of feelings that reflects emotions, the language of love, affection, intimacy of one's feelings to a partner. Romanticism is not only about affection and love, in other words, romanticism is not only beautiful or sweet, but hatred, anger, annoyance, jealousy, selfishness are also included in the category of romanticism. . Romanticism is also very much related to the times and lifestyle of teenagers and students today. Especially for those who live in big cities, this romantic activity is very possible. In fact, because it has often happened, people in big cities consider it normal. Dilan Dia adalah Dilanku Tahun 1990, there are parts of the story that contain romance, but it is packaged in a language that is typical of young people in the 1990s. For this reason, researchers are interested in conducting research to see the romantic representation in novel. Thid writing method is qualitative using naratif analysis Tzvetan Todorov. The subjek of this research is the Dilan Dia adalah Dilanku Tahun 1990 novel by Pidi Baiq. This research focuses on problems related to romantic aspects. The way of data collection is done by documentation and literature study techniques. After collecting data, an analysis of the method of this research was conducted to obtain results. The results of this study indicate that most of the beginning, middle and end of the story in this novel show that romance in this novel is mostly done by Dilan. In this Dilan 1990 novel, the representation of the aspect of romance is more dominant. The aspect of love shown by Dilan to Milea contains more love. Representation of aspects of romance that often arise include love, liking and various expressions of feelings that are often shown by the main characters, Dilan and Milea. However, different from the aspect of expression, only a few parts of the chapter are in the story in the novel Dilan 1990. Representation of aspects of expressions that often appear in the storyline, such as emotions, joys and sorrows, and uncontrollable desires. Keywords: Romanticism, Representation, Naratif Analysis

Abstract

At present there are many television shows that are less educational and unbalanced information for the audience. This of course makes the audience who watch television become affected. Even the programs presented sometimes contain elements of violation of broadcasting behavior guidelines and broadcast program standards (PPP-SPS). Based on the problems caused by the impact of television media, the need for education is related to understanding television mass media for the community by providing an understanding of television media literacy. The Riau Regional Indonesian Broadcasting Commission implemented a television media literacy socialization program. The socialization activity aims to understand the right media, respond to the media correctly and take sides with the right media content. The purpose of this study was to find out the effects generated from media literacy dissemination activities by looking at the extent to which individual competency levels in television media were members of the Tarak Karang Siak Regency.This study uses quantitative research methods. The sample in this study amounted to 70 respondents who participated in television media literacy socialization activities. Data collection techniques carried out were spread questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis techniques use the percentage statistical formula.The results showed that the level of individual competence in television media at the Tarak Regency organization in Siak Regency was in the advanced level category with a score of 51.4%. This shows that the level of individual competency in television media for members of the Tarak Karang Siak Regency has been very good.Keywords: Television, Media Literacy, Media Literacy Socialization, Individual Competency Level

Abstract

Metrosexual men get different attention in the eyes of society. Society still regards metrosexual men as gay or homosexual because they often use women's care products. But this stereotype was broken in the Axelerate The Series: Kostan AX / 3 web series. This web series highlights how men should look, be considered, and be cared for. This study discusses the representation of metrosexual women discussed in Axelerate The Series: Kostan AX / 3 Web Series.               This study uses qualitative research methods with John Fiske's semiotic analysis. Determination of informants using purposive techniques. The subject of this research is the Axelerate The Series: Kostan AX / 3 web series on the axeindonesia Youtube channel. Data obtained by the method of observation and documentation. The data analysis unit was chosen based on scenes which had 12 scenes of metrosexual men. The technique of checking the validity of the data uses triangulation of sources.        The results showed that (1) the level of reality, metrosexual men were seen in aspects of appearance, manner of speech, behavior, gestures, expressions and environment. (2) Level of representation, metrosexual men are depicted through aspects of the camera, lighting, music and sound. (3) The level of ideology, the depiction of metrosexual male values can be concluded to contain consumerism and persuasive values. Consumerism describes men who like to consume care products to support their appearance and foster self-confidence. While persuasive illustrates the web series that tries to foster a man's interest to pay more attention to his appearance by showing the expression and results of men after using care products.

Abstract

                The city of Pekanbaru is a strategic area where the population is increasing and becoming a metropolitan city. Of course there have been many mushrooming restaurants in Pekanbaru such as: Pondok Patin H.M. Yunus, Sushi Tei, Savory Pondok, Buana City, Delicious, Kian Wee Fish, Ta Wan Restaurant, and so on. The presence of other restaurants as Competitors who sell a variety of Indonesian specialties make Restoran D'penyet Pekanbaru must strive to increase the number of consumers in addressing the problem of decreasing consumers. Therefore researchers are interested in conducting research with the aim of finding out the marketing communication strategy of D'penyet Pekanbaru Restaurant in attracting consumer interest through sales promotion activities, which are carried out by loading new menus, publicity and public relations, direct marketing, internet marketing. The research conducted qualitative methods, namely data collection obtained based on the reality of field data through observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects of this study were 1 manager and 2 consumers of the Pekanbaru d'penyetz restaurant who were selected using the pursosiv sampling technique. To analyze the results of this study using interactive data analysis techniques, while the technique of checking the validity of the data through an extension of participation and triangulation.He results of this study indicate that the marketing communication strategy of restaurant d'penyetz Pekanbaru in attracting consumer interest through sales promotion activities is a menu promo and discounts on the big day. Personal selling activities make direct presentations. Through community relations activities, namely by making press releases, and socializing directly with consumers, and potential consumers of restaurants d'penyetz pekanbaru. And with Internet marketing media activities use media using social Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp

Abstract

Silk sarong fabric (lipa sabbe) is a typical Bugis Makassar woven fabric woven by Bugis Makassar women. Silk sarong woven fabric (lipa sabbe) is a Bugis tribal cultural heritage that has various motifs, both traditional, semi traditional, and modern. As in the Athirah film which describes the silk sarong woven fabric that has value and meaning as part of the wearer's self and the identity of the Bugis woman, a very sacred object that becomes a heritage for Bugis women. The purpose of this research is to find out the meaning of denotation, connotation and myth as well as the message to be conveyed in the Athirah film by Riri Riza This study uses descriptive qualitative reasearch methods. Data collection techniques used in this study are documentation, observation and literature study. The subject was determined based on purposive technique consisting of the selection of scenes that depicted woven silk sarong (lipa sabbe). Data analysis techniques were performed using Roland Barthes semiotics analysis with data validity checking techniques, namely source triangulation.The result of this research is first, the denotation meaning contained in this film is lipa sabbe is proff of Bugis women’s loyalty. The connotation meaning contained in this film is lipa sabbe is a symbol of the strength of love and pride towards the husband. As well as the meaning of the myth depicted in this film is lipa sabbe is the cultural heritage of the Bugis tribe marriage from the husband’s mother to women as a blessing and an mandate to remain patient an loyal to the husband. Second, the message of the film are lipa sabbe is an inheritance of inherent in the soul of female bugis so that as a female bugis must be stronger figure, keep fighting and be loyal to her husband.Keyword : Films, Semiotics, Lipa Sabbe

Abstract

The research was distributed by the author's interest against Ex Gafatar that occur in Indonesia. Their existence as illegal organization until their expulsion from Earth borneo makes compelling colors for covered by the various media. Each media pack with news of construction in accordance with the ideology they have. So, researchers specializing in the preaching of the Riau Post as local media in spreading the repatriation of Ex Gafatar to Riau. This study used a qualitative approach to discourse analysis models Teun A Van Dijk. Data was collected by interview and documentation. The object of ten research news, consists of nine news from Riau. Informants consisted from chief editor Riau Pos?s newspaper. To achieve the validity of the data in this research, researchers used  triangulation. The results showed: first, Analysis of the discourse, news coverage in newspapers the Riau Post puts a theme raised about the handling of the journey undertaken by the Government of Riau in escorting the repatriation of ex gafatar to Riau. The emphasis on the performance of the apparatus of Government through the promised construction of the Riau Post attempted to grow back the trust of the community to be able to accept back those in neighborhoods with a guarantee from the Government. Second, Representation of the media conducted by the Riau post which uses a constructionist approach is judged in favour to the Government as a form of fostering kepercayaaan Government in dealing with such cases. Without these events, hide impressed the Riau Post tried to suppress the conflict by giving the role of social control to the public.

Abstract

Sebagai agen demokrasi, partai politik mempunyai tugas yang tidak ringan. Partai politik bertugas sebagai penyalur aspirasi dari konstituen dan merubahnya menjadi kebijakan publik. Selain itu, ada tugas yang tidak kalah penting yang harus diemban oleh partai politik, yaitu melaksanakan kegiatan kaderisasi setelah melalui proses rekrutmen politik. Kaderisasi merupakan urat nadi bagi semua organisasi termaksud partai politik, karena sistem kaderisasi adalah sebuah proses yang sangat penting yang dilakukan demi menjaga kesinambungan kepemimpinan dari satu generasi ke generasi berikutnya. Untuk memperoleh kader yang berkualitas, maka dibutuhkan sebuah sistem kaderisasi yang sistematis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses rekrutmen politik Partai Nasional Demokrat Wilayah Riau dalam menentukan kadernya sehingga siap menghadapi pemilu legislatif 2019. Penelitian ini mefokuskan pada rekrutmen yang dilakukan oleh NASDEM dengan menggunakan tagline “Politik Tanpa Mahar”. Hal ini menepis bahwa tidak selamanya menjadi politisi itu harus dengan mahar. Abstract

The Post is a historical-drama movie that tells story about journalism in USA in 1971. This movie got many positive response from the critics on big medias and succesfully depicted the confrontation between media and government which is based on true story. The Post are made as the critic for Donald Trump’s administration and showing the point of view of the press which is oppressed, that is why the journalists on this movie is depicted as professionals. The purpose of this research is to analyze how is journalist’s professionalism from elements of journalism represented in The Post. This research used qualitative descriptive methods using Teun A. Van Dijk discourse analysis which is known as Social Cognition Theory, with element of analysis on text level which include micro strucutre, macro structure, and supertructure. Van Dijk’s discourse analysis mainly focused on the text, which is suitable with The Post that represented the journalist professionalism by the dialogue in it. The subject on this research are 11 scenes from The Post movie, object on this research are dialogues in The Post movie. Data gathering technique used on this research are observation and documentation. Data checking are done by triangulation and using references to support this research. This research shows that The Post represented the journalist who have high professionalism. It is delivered through the characters that hold the value of professionalism, which in this research are viewed based on the perspective of elements of journalism. There are 8 elements out of 10 elements of journalism that is represented on The Post; journalism first obligation is to the truth, its first loyalty is to citizens, it essence is a discipline of verification, its practitioners must maintain an independence from those they cover, it must serve as an independent monitor of power, it must strive to make the significant insteresting and relevant, it must keep the news comprehensive and in proportion, its practitioners have an obligation to exercise their personal conscience. Aside from that, there are also 2 elements of journalism that are not represented on the movie; journalism must provide a forum for public criticism and compromise, and citizens, too, have rights and responsibilities when it comes to the news.  Key Word : Movie, The Post, Discourse Analysis, Journalism, Teun A. Abstract

A true news is a construction carried out by the media, and according to Gregg Barak in the theory of newsmaking criminology the construction of a violent news is often exploited because psychologically humans are interested in begging for others. Therefore the news of violence that is presented by moving emotions is very popular in the community. The more emotional and dramatic a news of violence, the more it will inspire people to click on the news. However, there is no indication of the exploitation of reporting in the theory of newsmaking criminology, so that to measure the quality of reporting, technical rules related to reporting include one of the Guidelines for Media News Coverage.This research uses Newsmaking Criminology by Gregg Barak by using quantitative content analysis methods with a descriptive approach. The research subjects, namely the news narrative contained by GoRiau.com.com, from 1 April to 31 July 2019 totaled 21 news. This research is intended to describe the Implementation of Guidelines for Media News Coverage conducted by Goriau.com regarding sexual violence. Data obtained by coding performed by 3 coder.Based on the results of the study it can be seen that the implementation of the Guidelines for Media News Coverage associated with reporting sexual violence by GoRiau.com is generally quite good. From the Four Indicators examined, it is seen that as a whole 75% of the total coverage was implemented.
