Abstract

One of the mainstay products of plantations, cocoa has a significant economic impact on the country, especially in terms of employment, income, and foreign exchange. This research aims to identify the relationships between cocoa exports and global cocoa prices between 1985 and 2020. Granger Causality was the quantitative methodology used in this research. Cocoa export volume and global cocoa prices are the study's factors. The study's findings showed that there was a one-way causal relationship between the variables, with the international cocoa price variable successfully affecting the cocoa export variable but no evidence of a causal relationship between the cacao export variable and the international cocoa price variable. This describes how coffee exports will be impacted by the price of coffee globally.

Abstract

In order to gain a general understanding of the dominant industries in each district or city and assess the degree of inequality in the area, this paper will analyze the economic structure in the Gerbangkertosusila National Strategic Area using a quantitative research methodology. The three techniques used to analyze the data—Location Quotient, Klassen Typology, and Williamson Index—are all taken from the Central Bureau of Statistics. The results of data processing from the three methods show that the level of inequality between regions is still high and the gap has increased every year. Bangkalan Regency is the only district that is lagging behind in terms of regions that are still in quadrant IV, and there are 10 and 17 business fields that are categorized as underdeveloped. This indicates that the existence of the Suramadu bridge has not been able to have a positive impact on the economy in Bangkalan, which is the gateway to Madura.

Abstract

Based on constant prices, the agricultural sector's GRDP growth rate trends to decline between 2018 and 2020. Given the various commodities that have been developed in Gorontalo Regency's agricultural sector, particularly in the food sub-sector, it is hoped that there will soon be superior commodities that are well developed and can positively affect the region's economic growth, particularly in the agricultural sector, particularly in the food sub-sector. The goal of this study was to use LQ (Location Quotient) and SSA (Shift Share Analysis)  analysis tools to identify basic and non-basic commodities in the food sub-sector of Gorontalo Regency, identify commodities belonging to progressive growth, and identify the leading commodities in the food sub-sector of Gorontalo Regency. According to the analysis's findings, rice, corn, and soybeans were the three most important fundamental commodities in the Gorontalo Regency's food sub-sector. Corn, rice, and soybeans were among the agricultural products in the Gorontalo Regency that were categorized as having advanced or progressive development. According to the findings of the LQ and SSA analysis summarized, corn, rice, and soybeans are the top three commodities in the Gorontalo Regency

Abstract

This research aims to conduct an analysis focusing on measuring the level of regional competitiveness by utilizing the regional development index as a measure of regional development performance in Luwu Raya. This measurement examines several indicators considered influential, namely economic, social, infrastructure, and environmental aspects. The sample in this research includes all regions in Luwu Raya, comprising Palopo City, Luwu Regency, North Luwu Regency, and East Luwu Regency. The method employed in this research is quantitative analysis using the composite performance index as the analytical technique. The primary steps in constructing a composite index involve weighting, literature studies, trend determination, alternative index determination, and composite index determination. The results reveal that the regional competitiveness in Luwu Raya is unevenly distributed. Palopo City is the region with the highest level of competitiveness, while two regencies, North Luwu and Luwu, have the lowest levels of competitiveness. The most influential aspect of regional competitiveness is infrastructure, as measured by data on the condition of paved roads and clean water distribution. The problem that needs to be addressed in almost all regions of Luwu Raya is poverty. Infrastructure is a pioneering indicator that can have a significant positive or negative impact on development in Luwu Raya. Therefore, it is expected that the government can focus its development policies on infrastructure to provide multiplier effects on economic and social aspects through inclusive economic growth and job creation.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of inflation and Rural Banks' (BPR) performance—that is, their assets, credit, and third-party funding—on Indonesia's economy. For the years 2014–2020, panel data regression using a fixed effect model approach is the technique employed. Secondary data from the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Central Statistics Agency (BPS), and other relevant organizations were used in this investigation. The findings indicated, in part, that the credit variable had a significant coefficient value of 0.119, the inflation variable had a significant coefficient value of -0.033, the asset variable had a significant coefficient value of -0.006, and the third party fund variable had an insignificant coefficient value of 0.064. At the same time demonstrating how the variables of assets, third-party funding credit, and inflation all influence Indonesia's economic variables at the same time. A coefficient of determination of 0.99 is attained. Then, these findings demonstrate that the variables of inflation, assets, credit, and third-party funds account for 99 percent of the variation in economic variables' growth and fall, with other factors outside the model influencing the remaining 1%.
