Komposisi: Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa, Sastra, dan Seni is an international journal dedicated for the publication of scientific articles in language education, literature, and arts education. It was firstly published on March 2000 with ISSN 1411-3732 in 2007 by Faculty of Language Literature and Arts Universitas Negeri Padang. This journal had ever been changed into Jurnal Bahasa dan Seni during 2004-2013. In 2014 this journal is renamed as Komposisi: Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa, Sastra, dan Seni applies open journal system (OJS) and peer-reviewed online journal in 2017 with Online ISSN 2548-9097.

Abstract

The goal of this research is to create learning resources for writing skills (maharah kitabah) using the Baamboozle website. Research and development is the research methodology employed. Researchers employed the development of the ADDIE model which is divided into five phases: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. In order to evaluate the viability of the generated items, documentation and questionnaires were employed as data collection methods in this Baamboozle media development research. The quantitative descriptive analysis technique was employed in this study. After that, the information gathered from students and learning media specialists via surveys about the created items was examined. Based on the findings from the analysis stage, researchers carried out a needs analysis of Arabic learning media; they also designed this product into two categories: distinct letters and random words; in the development stage, they created materials, had media experts verify their viability, and made revisions to their products. The product was evaluated on 21 students in grade VII as part of the evaluation process, which looks for evidence that the product was designed in accordance with learning objectives. The average result of the three experts' assessment was 87.78%, placing it in the Very Good category. The generated teaching material products received a percentage of 89.89% in the student assessment questionnaire, placing them in the "Very Good" category. Thus, it can be said that the generated product is appropriate for teaching writing skills (maharah kitabah).

Abstract

The popularity of video games among language learners makes games a potential medium for learning languages. Previous research shows that playing video games, one of which is DOTA 2, can have a positive effect on students' vocabulary acquisition, but it still does not explain what specific vocabulary learning strategies are used. This study explores DOTA 2 players' experiences in acquiring new knowledge and identifies effective strategies for acquiring knowledge in the context of the game. The research method used is a case study research design, as well as semi-structured interviews and observation. The results showed that DOTA 2 players learned new vocabulary through exposure while playing the game, and social interaction was the most emphasized comprehension learning strategy used by the participants. This study provides insight into the effectiveness of DOTA 2 as a language learning tool, especially regarding knowledge acquisition.

Abstract

Syntax is one of the courses taken by students either in the form of online learning using e-learning or face-to-face in the classroom. In online learning using e-learning, syntax is taught using asynchronous and synchronous methods. This study aims to explain which online learning method is more appropriate to use in learning syntax. This research method uses an experimental design. A total of 80 students received syntax learning with the asynchronous method in the first half of the semester and the synchronous method in the second half of the semester. The results of the study showed three things, namely: the average learning outcome with the asynchronous method was 52.79, the average learning outcome with the synchronous method was 63.34, and the results of statistical tests showed that there was a significant difference between learning outcomes using the asynchronous and synchronous methods. The synchronous method is better than the asynchronous method because online learning is carried out directly using the zoom meeting virtual room. Lecturers and students interact directly in the virtual room so that students have the same understanding in understanding and applying the concepts of Syntax learning, both in oral and written communication. Although learning can be carried out, the average student grades still need to be improved. Lecturers need to improve the quality of learning. Meanwhile, students need to improve their motivation, reading interest, and be able to adapt to various forms of learning in various situations

Abstract

This research aims to improve the ability to play musical instruments using contemporary genre as a music playing activity that has never been done at SLB A Karya Murni Medan.  This activity is based on the lack of ability to play musical instruments for each child and the lack of optimal music learning by using contemporary genre as their musical repertoire. Contemporary genre are very interesting because they use elements of tone color, emphasis on mixing instrument sounds, melody as a variation of pitch in rhythm (time), micropolyphonic harmony, new sounds and non-functional vertical harmony, free rhythmic patterns. and complex and rhythmic micropatterns. The research subjects of SLB A students were 13 students. This research uses qualitative methods with a descriptive analysis approach in describing phenomena that occur related to efforts to improve the ability to play musical instruments using contemporary genre or children with special needs at SLB A Karya Murni Medan. It is hoped that the results of the research can make music playing activities more interesting and provide benefits for blind children such as playing instruments, learning rhythmic patterns, singing melodies, making movements while singing collectively using contemporary musical compositions and holding small musical performances for SLB A students Murrni Medan's work.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal and describe the function of Dampeang in the Luambek performance in Sintuk Toboh Gadang. This study is qualitative research, using descriptive methods and conducting an analytical approach to Dampeang in the Luambek performance and the relationship between the two. The main instrument of the study is the researcher himself, assisted by stationery and a mobile phone. Data collection techniques are carried out through literature studies, direct observation, interviews, and documentation. The analysis of research data carried out is reducing data, presenting data, and verifying conclusions. The results of this study include; 1) the origin of Dampeang; 2) the description of the Dampeang text; and 3) the form of presentation of Dampeang in the Luambek performance. Then an analysis of the function of Dampeang in the Luambek performance was carried out until it was found; a) the function of emotional expression; b) the function of entertainment; c) the function of communication; d) the function of physical response; e) the function in carrying out the conformity of social norms, f) the function of ratifying social and religious institutions; and g) the function of contributing to the preservation and stability of culture. And, h) The function of Dampeang in Luambek performances from an educational value perspective.
