Abstract

Purpose Research. This study critically examine the effectiveness of social media promotion strategies implemented by libraries in using AIDA model (Attention, Interest, Desire, Action) as a conceptual framework. Research Methods. This study employs a literature review method using secondary data from journal articles, theses, and institutional reports published between 2019 and 2025. Analysis Data. The data were systematically analyzed using six thematic dimensions: platform selection, content strategy, engagement quality, success metrics, structural barriers, and strategic alignment, with a qualitative-descriptive and critical approach. Results. Instagram dominates as the primary promotional platform. However, most library only achive the Attantion stage, with minimal progression to Interest, Desire, and Action. Engagement metrics remain surface-level, disconnected from measurable behavioral outcomes such as library visits or service utilization. Social media has not been strategically as a promotion tool in Indonesia libraries. This study contributes a critical AIDA-based evaluative framework that bridges the gap between engagement metrics and real impact, offering practical implications for integrated content planning and impact-based evaluation in library management. Abstract

Purpose Research. This study evaluates collection utilization at the UNISRI Library using ISO 11620:2014 and describes factors related to collection availability and library services in the use of printed and electronic collections. The study is important for supporting evidence-based collection evaluation and service improvement in higher education libraries. Research Method. This study employed a descriptive quantitative pilot design by combining library automation system (SLiMS) data on visits and circulation with a questionnaire administered to 30 student users of the UNISRI Library. Analysis Data. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and interpreted based on selected ISO 11620:2014 indicators covering collection utilization, collection availability, and library service performance. Results. The findings show a utilization gap: library visits were relatively high, but borrowing and the use of electronic collections remained low to moderate. Printed collections were generally perceived as relevant and sufficiently current, and library services were rated positively. However, collection utilization was constrained by item unavailability, difficulties using the OPAC, ineffective search and retrieval, and metadata-related problems in accessing electronic resources. Conclusions. Collection utilization at the UNISRI Library remains limited despite positive perceptions of collection relevance and service quality, indicating that availability management and discovery and access systems remain key constraints. Improving utilization therefore requires better access tools, stronger metadata quality, and more targeted user guidance. Further research should involve a larger sample and a longer observation period. Keywords: Collection Utilization; Academic Library; ISO 11620:2014; Library Performance;  Electronic Collections

Abstract

Purpose Research: This study analyzes the collection development process at the Al Azhar 30 Islamic School Library, Bandung, using the Evans & Saponaro (2005) model. It specifically examines how Islamic values are integrated into selection criteria and how collaboration occurs between the sole librarian and teaching staff. Research Method: A qualitative single-case study was employed. Data were gathered through in-depth interviews with librarian, participant observation, and documentation. Analysis Data: Data were analyzed using the interactive model by Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña (2014). Results: The findings reveal that the selection process follows a systematic flow from needs analysis to evaluation. Islamic values act as a "primary filter" to exclude content containing violence, sensuality, or doctrinal deviations. However, this process relies heavily on informal collaboration and "tacit knowledge" due to the absence of a formal written collection development policy. Conclusions: It is concluded that the internalization of religious values as tacit knowledge compensates for the absence of a written policy. The study recommends formalizing selection policies and establishing specific criteria for digital collections to meet modern educational needs. Abstract

Purpose Research. The uneven distribution of demographic characteristics and regional competitiveness across Indonesian provinces creates structurally differentiated information needs that existing public library services have yet to address systematically. Although the Regional Competitiveness Index (RCI/IDSD) developed by BRIN provides a comprehensive twelve-pillar framework for assessing regional development performance, no prior study has integrated this instrument with demographic analysis to map strategic information needs comparatively across high-performing provinces, leaving a critical gap in both theoretical and policy literature on information services within decentralized governance contexts. Research Method. This study employed a qualitative descriptive design combining document analysis and comparative analysis. Secondary data is drawn from demographic data of each province from the Central Statistics Agency, IDSD data from BRIN in 2025, and supporting peer-reviewed literature. Data collection was followed by content analysis, the construction of a structured comparative matrix, typological clustering, and interpretive synthesis. Analysis Data. Data were analyzed in three sequential stages: content analysis, comparative and typological analysis, and strategic synthesis, validated through source triangulation and standardized conceptual categories. Results. Four distinctive typologies emerged: Metropolitan Formal, Tourism-Cultural, Urban Buffer, and Agrarian-Inclusive, each corresponding directly to measurable SDG attainment gaps across SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 17. At the same time, SDG 6, 7, 13, 14, and 15 remained unreachable due to IDSD's inherent environmental blind spots. Conclusion. Strategic information needs are systemically differentiated, requiring asymmetric library interventions. Future research should develop a library-readiness index that integrates all 12 IDSD pillars and incorporates environmental indices to achieve holistic coverage of the SDGs.
