Abstract

This study aims to examine the thoughts brought by both western and Islamic figures regarding Abraham Maslow's self-actualization from Al-Ghazali's perspective. This is based on the thoughts of the two figures Abraham Maslow and Al-Ghazali which are often the subject of lengthy discussions among thinkers, scholars, and psychologists, one of which is the statement that self-actualization is synonymous with a person's desire to use all his or her abilities to achieve everything they can achieve and be able to achieve, self-actualization is also the highest need and achievement for a human being, and is the culmination of one's maturity and maturity. The author uses a qualitative research method of literature and interpretive analysis, the author seeks to collect data and then filter and quote various data sources which are then interpreted to obtain a valid conclusion. The author's validation method uses method, time, and theory triangulation. The results of the research show that Abraham Maslow views self-actualization as a desire to be satisfied with himself, to realize all of his potential, to become whatever he can do, and to be creative and free to reach the peak of his potential achievement. And Al-Ghazali also saw that self-actualization is when a person experiences an emptiness in himself which makes the filler of the spiritual spirit uncontrollable in every human being, and at that time a person also experiences various kinds of problems in his life, both those caused by within himself and from outside himself.

Abstract

This article tries to reveal Mukti Ali's thoughts about his new approach in Islamic Studies, namely Scientific-Cum-Doctrinaire in the eyes of Islamic Worldview. This article was written using a qualitative research approach by taking the type of library research, in which the data analysis technique was descriptive-qualitative. The results of the study were also explored through a philosophical approach to examine the thoughts of Mukti Ali who was able to create his own method of understanding Islam, namely the synthesis method and the typological method. The result of this research is that the Scientific-Cum-Doctrinaire approach is the result of a combination of three different approaches. First, Doctrinaire or dogmatic, namely approaching religion based on the statements of the Qur'an and Hadith, but this approach is considered outdated by Mukti Ali because it cannot be applied in society. Second, Scientific, which is approaching religion scientifically. However, Ali rejects this approach if it is only used singly because it is considered unsuitable. Third, synthesis is a combination of Scientific-Doctrinaire. According to him, this approach is appropriate to use in understanding Islam. Meanwhile, in the Islamic worldview, the most perfect method is the monotheistic method. Furthermore, the concept of Scientific-Cum-Doctrinaire in the eyes of the Islamic worldview is value-free. Mukti Ali also admitted that the steps of the Scientific-Cum-Doctrinaire method had not been clearly defined, thus, the Scientific-Cum-Doctrinaire method was different or incompatible with the Islamic worldview concept.

Abstract

The study explores exictence of Muslim Women in Social Media to shows theirselves. The emergence of the TikTok application affects the emergence of narcissistic behavior in everyone, including Muslim women. Narcissistic individuals are always self-conscious about their appearance and uploaded pictures of themselves in various settings in an effort to attract attention and admiration from others.  Accordingly, the goals and research questions are outlined in two focus discussions: how prevalent Muslim narcissism is in the TikTok application today, and how can we determine the message or hidden meaning of Muslim TikTok content using Charles William Morris' triadic theory (triangle) through  observation and documentation of the accounts of three Muslim women who actively use TikTok.  The findings of this study revealed narcissistic traits in three Muslim users of the TikTok app named Nabila, Herlin Kenza, and Mila Alawiyah. The narcissistic inclination results from a persistent desire to stand out, from displaying a high-class lifestyle, from giving significant importance to physical beauty in daily life, and from consistently displaying expensive and branded items. All of that is shown and displayed with an excessive amount of self-confidence, which results in arrogant behavior.
