Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan membahas pemikiran Aristoteles sebagai filosof pasca helenistik. Pemikirannya yang bersifat antroposentris sangat mempengaruhi pemikir muslim yang akan datang. Virtue ethics sebagai etika yang mengatur manusia untuk berbuat bijaksana baik yang bersifat praktis ataupun politis dijadikan landasan dasar seseorang dalam mengambil setiap keputusan. Penelitian ini bersifat kepustakaan dengan menggunakan sumber primer sebagai rujukan utama dan sumber sekunder sebagai data penunjang. Dengan menguaraikan data-data tersebut kita akan mengetahui bagaimana pemikiran Aristoteles berimplikasi begitu sangat luas dalam diri seseorang terutama ketika berkaitan dengan kebijaksanaan. kebijaksanaan ini tidak bisa dijalankan oleh seorang diri, dengan sifat manusia sebagai zoon politicon secara otomatis gagasan virtue ethics yang dicanangkan oleh Aristoteles dapat berjalan dengan baik. Kebijaksanaan ini tidak hanya terjadi di belahan dunia Barat tetapi juga meluas dalam diri manusia orang-orang Timur. Maka secara otomatis virtue ethics sangat mempengaruhi kebijakan-kebijakan yang diambil oleh pemimpin muslim baik kebijakan yang bersifat praktis ataupun bersifat politis.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the thoughts brought by Harun Nasution regarding power, God's absolute will and human freedom in an analysis of thought. This is based on Harun Nasution's thoughts which are often the subject of long discussions among thinkers and scholars, one of which is the statement that abandoning rational thought has an impact on the backwardness of Muslims and reason symbolizes human power. His thoughts received various responses from thinkers and scholars, so researchers were interested in examining his thoughts. The author uses qualitative research methods of literature and interpretive analysis, the author tries to collect data then filter and cite various data sources which are then interpreted in order to obtain a valid conclusion. The author's validation method uses method, time and theory triangulation. The results show that Harun Nasution views that God's power and will are limited by rational thinking. God has given freedom to humans according to His Sunnah. God gives freedom to humans to determine what they want so that this human freedom seems to limit the power and will of God. Every moment humans have to choose from several life choices which are essentially still within the scope of God's will.

Abstract

This paper aims, firstly, to present a complete translation of the Risa>lah al-H}i>lah li Daf‘ al-Ah}za>n into Indonesian, and secondly, to suggest that al-Kindi has paved the way for the harmonization between religion with philosophy. Conducting research on al-Kindi’s philosophy is important because some Islamic Philosophy scholars almost ignored him and jumped into Ibnu Rusyd's book Fas}l al-Maqa>l as the major resource in this discourse. This paper uses a library research methodology. The translation of Risalah al-H}ilah li Daf‘ al-Ah}zan in this paper referred to the publication of this treatise edited by ‘Abd al-Rahman Badawi. This paper concludes that there are indicators of the influence of Stoicism, Socrates, and Aristotle in al-Kindi’s Risalah al-H}ilah li Daf‘ al-Ah}zan and has many relevancies with principles of Rational, Emotional, Behavioral Therapy (REBT). But, al-Kindi’s rational method of dealing with grief is also in line with the guidance of the Qur’an.

Abstract

This paper examines the divine philosophy of Muhammad Iqbal's thought. Iqbal tries to understand God by using ego. The ego is a representation of God. In the ego, religious experience is more important as an effort to get closer to God. This research method uses a descriptive-analytical approach. The study found that Muhammad Iqbal's understanding of God put more emphasis on an esoteric approach, not an exoteric approach. The conception of divine philosophy according to Muhammad Iqbal is actually how to function human potential, by always implementing Islamic teachings and the concept of monotheism. Thus, Muslims can practice monotheism in carrying out their worship.

Abstract

This study aims to discuss the moral values ​​contained in the film "The Dreamer" by using semiotic analysis. Semiotic analysis was chosen because it is a field of study that is very relevant to analyzing the structure of a film. This research is library research with a qualitative approach. Sources of data in this study consisted of primary data and secondary data. Primary data were obtained from film footage and dialogues containing elements of moral values ​​in the film "The Dreamer". While secondary data was obtained from books, journals, and articles that support the research material. Data collection uses observation and documentation techniques. Data analysis used the semiotic analysis of Roland Barthes. The results showed that in the film "The Dreamer" there are moral values ​​that can be known, including the relationship between humans and God (be kind to God), the relationship between humans and oneself which includes studying, working hard, and being responsible and human relationships with others. other human beings, namely the value of tolerance, helping others, and caring.

Abstract

Sociology is a science that studies human-human relations. Sociology emerged later than other disciplines. Max Weber, a western sociologist who studies the eastern world as the object of his study, is considered to have a lot of ethnocentric content, namely Eurocentric. This has implications for the creation of a reflection of Europe, namely the east, which Weber describes eloquently. Although at first Weber tried to explain the process of change in Western Europe, but oddly enough, he studied the east as the other or the other of Europe. As a methodological tool, the author uses library research. In this study, the author uses Hassan Hanafi's Occidentalism approach to challenge the Eurocentrism narrative offered by Max Weber. The results of this study indicate that Eurocentrism is attributed to Europe which in the course of history will lead to major humanitarian problems that Weber did not calculate such as colonialism and imperialism and requires a full lawsuit against the discourse through Occidentalism.

Abstract

Science and religion are inseparable sciences on the grounds that they are closely related, with the proposition that all knowledge cannot be separated from the sources of Islamic law, especially the Qur'an and Hadith. However, some scientists argue that science and religion are two different things. This study aims to provide an overview of Ian G Barbour's views on science and religion. This research has an object of study related to the relationship between religion and science, especially those related to various forms of the relationship between the two, both obtained from scientific studies. This research is library research that uses content analysis to examine various information about the things being studied. The results of the study show that science is considered something clear where the truth can be proven by reason, while religion is considered something theoretical. One of the researchers who emphasize the relationship between science and religion is Ian G. Barbour. In this conversation, Barbour observes that the relationship between science and religion is separated into four methodologies: struggle, autonomy, discourse, and combination. science and religion are types of knowledge that people have: common sense, myths, belief systems, and works. From one point of view, the unequivocal value of truth turns out to be definite and immediate, and eternal in view of the fact that it comes from something that is certain and never dies, namely the creator or god.

Abstract

This research explores the views of Taqi Misbah Yazdi in criticizing the theory of human freedom according to Jean Paul Sarte. The discourse of human freedom has indeed been widely discussed, especially in modern times, especially in philosophy. Even in the West, this freedom is central to the discussion. The emergence of existentialism proves that the question of freedom has become a polemic among existentialist philosophers such as Soren Kierkegaard, Martin Haidegger, Karl Jasper and others. Researchers will focus on discussing Sartre's existentialism about human freedom. The method for this research is qualitative because this research is descriptive in nature and tends to use analysis. Process and meaning (subject perspective) are emphasized in qualitative research. The theoretical base is used as a guide so that the research focus is in line with the facts in the field. In this research, in terms of the existence of values, all the freedom that Sartre does certainly has weaknesses, namely it leads to anxiety, whereas in essence Sartre's freedom begins with human awareness of "being" and then acts in a conscious "nothingness". In Yazdi's study, awareness in noting this will make man detached from divine will in value and spiritually, meaning that the understanding of an absolute being that is conscious with a temporary form like man cannot be understood and studied, because the feeling of not noting it blackens and empties oneself into something that in the end, man will never find his own essence.Keywords: Responsibility, Circle of Freedom, Fear, Facticity.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship of holistic social science to the field of Al-Qur'an interpretation. Holistic social science in question is social science based on three aspects in the philosophy of science or the collaboration of various scholars related to the subject of interpretation. The research method used is ontological analysis from the (social) philosophy of science and related to the epistemological character of the thematic interpretation. Compiling and understanding interpretations related to certain scientific fields, including the social field, without the help of a philosophy of science is something that is not sufficient to dialogue reality with the context of the Qur’an verses. Therefore, it is not enough for the interpreters of the Qur'an to rely only on scientific data from the research of the Kantian paradigm without verifying them in a more contextual and actual study based on the intended holistic paradigm. Philosophy and related social sciences at the same time or the cooperation of various social sciences is a holistic paradigm that is needed in exploring an interpretation related to the subject of interpretation or the problem to be dialogued with verses, especially in the field of thematic interpretation. For this holistic paradigm can have functions: First, the position of philosophy of science can offer a proportional dialogue between text and context. Second, the collaboration of science, philosophy, and art can make the social sciences in particular not forget their basic goals and interests, namely: to create a better human life and to make it liberating or emancipatory interpretations.

Abstract

Different types of marriage have been found, one of which is contract marriage / mut'ah. In every country, the status of contract marriage is still in the zone of debate such as Iran, Arabia and Indonesia. The focus of this research is to try to analyze contract marriage by incorporating a theory from a famous figure, namely Jacques Derrida's deconstruction theory. The data collection technique used is qualitative which tends to use analysis. The result of the discussion in this study is that the use of Derrida's deconstruction is able to influence a person's thinking style when understanding a meaning then from the results of the meaning will not find a final context but will continue to be sustainable. Then another result with deconstruction is that the problem is not from who is right and wrong regarding the determination of the legal status of contract marriage, but rather looks at the community side, what is needed by the community. The conclusion of this study is that contract marriage according to Derrida's deconstruction is that understanding the contradictions of contract marriage is not seen from the law of marriage but from the needs of marriage.
