Abstract

Location selection is crucial in the franchise fast-food industry. A thorough location selection model paired with a proper analytical technique can considerably improve the performance of placement decisions, attract more customers, and boost market share and profitability. Franchise location data sets have an imbalanced class nature. The franchise location prospect prediction performance decreased as a result of the dataset's noisy characteristics. We developed a hybrid approach to improve franchise location prospect prediction performance in this study. It combines Bootstrapping to address class imbalance problems and a Genetic Algorithm (GA) to select relevant features in the franchise location prospect prediction. We experimented with five different classification methods (Naive Bayes, C4.5, Random Forest, ID3, Gradient Boosted Trees). The results show that almost all classifiers that use Bootstrapping and GA outperform the original technique. We employ the Confusion Matrix and Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE) to examine the proposed method's performance. The test results demonstrate that the proposed method considerably enhances the franchise location prospect's classification performance.

Abstract

COVID-19 was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) in early 2020. The Indonesian government has taken steps to stop COVID-19 from spreading, one of which is vaccination. However, not everyone thinks vaccination is a good idea. Like in other countries, Indonesian people responded in different ways to COVID-19 vaccination posts on social media, be it from government officials or news portals. Public responses can be used to help the government make a better vaccination strategy to end the pandemic in Indonesia. Using the lexicon method in determining the sentiment in COVID-19 vaccination posts on Facebook, this research found that unlike news portals that tended to post a more balanced content (36% positive, 20% negative, and 44% neutral out of 23,623 posts, min score = -19, max score = 24, mean = 0.25, SD = 1.43), government accounts posted much more positive content, both in quality (min score = -15, max score = 40, mean score = 4.16, SD = 6.76 ) and quantity (69% positive) than they did the neutral (15%) and the negative content (16%) out of 723 posts. Subsequent analysis with Two-Way ANOVA tests discovered that COVID-19 vaccination posts by the news portals elicited more varied reactions from the public than government accounts that tended to elicit mostly positive reactions. Also, both the content sentiment of COVID-19 vaccination posts in Indonesia and the account types making those posts, as well as their interaction terms do have an impact on how the public responds to them.

Abstract

Currently, companies, organizations and institutions are in dire need of the development of technology and information systems, especially information technology through the internet. The American Indonesian Education Institute, the Cijantung Branch, which until now has not yet been computerized. Currently, the registration process to become a student at the American Indonesian Education Institute Cijantung Branch is still manual, both from filling out forms provided by the American Indonesian Education Institute Cijantung Branch to becoming a student. Usually the data collection process is a bit hampered because the number of applicants is more than customer service and it is too difficult for customer service to read prospective student forms. This causes the service from the customer service of the American Indonesian Education Institute Cijantung Branch is not optimal. This study uses the waterfall model as a software development model. From the research conducted, it is expected to produce a new student acceptance control system that can assist customer service in collecting data on prospective students and managing prospective student forms. The design of the new student admission system is expected to be more effective and efficient. So it's good when registration can be completed in a short time. This system is also expected to minimize data collection errors made by customer service.

Abstract

The School Literacy Movement (GLS) aims to foster youth character through a culture of literacy (reading and writing). However, in the presence of the Covid-19 outbreak, Indonesian education needs to use online media to keep learning going. Many types of platforms are used for online learning media, but all of these media do not support school literacy activities, so school literacy activities do not run as usual. Based on these problems, a solution was created, namely an application that makes it easy for literacy activities to take place online. Students can access this application to do online literacy via a laptop or smartphone. This application makes it easier for teachers to monitor the course of online literacy programs. The results of this study are indicated by functional testing on all features obtaining a 100% valid percentage. Tests on users get an average percentage of more than 80%. The test results prove that this application can be accepted by students, teachers and admins at State High School 1 Geger Madiun to make literacy activities more effective and efficient.

Abstract

Water is an important need for all living things, especially humans. Humans need water with quality that meets the physical, microbiological, chemical, and radiological requirements contained in the mandatory and additional parameters. The selection of these parameters is very important to meet the requirements of good water, namely tasteless, odorless, and colorless. Meanwhile, there are three parameters used for water identification, namely pH parameters, turbidity levels, and temperature parameters. From these problems, the authors examine the detection of water quality, especially water turbidity. The author tries to make a tool that can detect the level of turbidity of water with a turbidity sensor as a detector of the level of turbidity in the water, Arduino Uno as a processor for the data results that have been detected, and a 16x2 LCD as a display of turbidity level measurement results in the form of turbidity values and descriptions of the water being tested. The measurement range that can be detected by this tool is from 0 – 3000 NTU. The research method used is direct observation of the selected object, namely the author's home environment, and conducting library research related to the Arduino microcontroller. The purpose of this study was to determine and detect the level of water quality in the community. As one of the tools or alternatives for the community to find out or detect the level of water quality early.

Abstract

Work equipment inventory management at the service division of PT. Arista Sukses Mandiri Jakarta is still done manually using printed forms (for daily checks) and handwritten books (which record every piece of equipment that enters and/or leaves the warehouse), therefore personnel needs more time to carry out these activities. Equipment inventory management must be correct and precise between existing data and the reality in the field, but if it is carried out manually the risk of data error is higher than if it is carried out using a computerized system. Also, using a computerized system in an equipment inventory environment can make the process faster, thus achieving time efficiency. The web-based inventory system was developed by the author (as well as the developer) to solve or at least reduce the problem. The model used in the development of this web-based application system is a waterfall development model with whirlpools for beginners as suggested by Powel et al. This model consists of problem definition, needs analysis, prototype design, implementation, integration/testing, release/maintenance. The final product of research and development written in this paper is a web-based application for work equipment inventory that can make the process faster, precise, and efficient.

Abstract

Covid-19 is widespread, resulting in a global pandemic. Distance Learning System (DLS) is considered as a solution but, the reality of the implementation of DLS is not in accordance with the expectations of the community. Many twitter users wrote their opinions on DLS. The tendency of public sentiment can be used as a way to improve the existing education system in Indonesia and can be an input for the government in improving the DLS method that is being implemented. Thus, this study produced a system that can analyze tweet sentiment towards DLS. The tweet was obtained using the Twitter API. The method used is Naïve Bayes for the process of classification of positive, negative and neutral sentiments using 600 data. Then, data sharing is done 80% data training and 20% data testing that will be in the text preprocessing first. The accuracy of sentiment analysis of DLS using Naïve Bayes method using 3-fold Cross Validation produces an average of 93%.
