Abstract

Taxes are contributions from individual and corporate taxpayers that are compelling for the state's prosperity. However, companies attempted to minimize their tax expenses, while the government is against actions that potentially reduce state revenue. Companies that commit this action are referred to as tax avoidance. Tax avoidance has been committed by Adaro Energy, part of the Indonesia’s energy sector companies. Therefore, a study is necessary to determine whether leverage, earnings management, and fiscal loss compensation affect tax avoidance in energy companies for 2017-2021. In this study, purposive sampling was utilized to select samples. The final sample consisted of 11 companies or 55 sample data. In E-views 12, panel data regression was used to analyze data. The results showed that earnings management negatively affects tax avoidance. However, leverage and fiscal loss compensation do not affect tax avoidance. This study is anticipated to inform readers and companies to be more cautious in earnings management utilization and income-decreasing pattern.

Abstract

This research is motivated by product placement, which serves as an alternative to traditional advertising usually broadcasted on mass media and frequently used in Korean dramas. Given the popularity of Korean dramas among international audiences, global brands have sought to participate in such product placement activities. However, there are instances where viewers complain about excessive and unreasonable product placements that disrupt their engagement due to their frequent appearances. The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of level of disclosure (LoD) on brand recall (BR) and brand evaluation (BE), while considering the moderating effects of psychological trait reactance (PTA) and program involvement (PI), with program liking (PL) acting as a mediating variable. The study focuses on subway product placement in the Korean drama "Descendants of the Sun" (DoTS). The research utilized a sample of 400 respondents who had watched the DoTS drama and had observed the subway product placement within the show. The results indicate that LoD indeed affects BR and PL. Moreover, PL significantly and positively mediates the relationship between LoD and BE. Based on the findings, this study recommends product owners aiming to advertise their products through dramas to select shows featuring well-known characters and enjoying high ratings. This strategy will likely attract more audience attention to their products.

The second factor is trust in authority which also consists of two levels, namely taxpayers have high trust in authority and taxpayers have low trust in authority. The results of the study show that taxpayers who are aware of tax incentives and have high trust in the tax authorities will produce high voluntary tax compliance. Taxpayers who also have high voluntary tax compliance. The results of the interaction show that taxpayers who are aware of tax incentives and/or have high trust in the tax authorities will show different voluntary tax compliance. Abstract

This research is based on the finding of KPK data, during 2004 - 2020 there were 257 corruption cases involving political elites and party leaders as well as regional heads, as well as 297 corruption cases involving private parties. The involvement of the private sector as perpetrators of corruption is due to their interests related to licensing. From this data, a common thread can be drawn, it turns out that many leaders are transactional among political parties and this needs to be reformed to become transformational leaders. The purpose of this research is to want to see problems and problems theoretically, then describe the problems that arise in a description so that later a qualitative conclusion is drawn. The research that he conducted found that there is a strong impression that political parties in the country are still led by transactional leaders rather than transformational ones. Political parties have not succeeded in carrying out their political functions and roles optimally, both related to political education, political communication, political recruitment, political aggregation and articulation, to party involvement in resolving conflicts in society. digital democracy, social media, conversational media, to face-to-face deliberation, have been replaced by smart phone devices that remove barriers, as well as distance between citizens, this makes moving faster and more efficient, low-cost, and able to reach a wide area. The rise of primordial and primordial issues based on ethnicity, religion, race, and inter-group (SARA), in the context of digital democracy must be anticipated and treated as a natural thing.
