Abstract

Higher education is an important pillar of education for the progress of the Indonesian nation. The growth in the number of Private Universities (PTS) in Indonesia is increasing, which has led to the intense competition. Conditions during the Covid pandemic that affected the people's economy were also one of the problems with the decline in new students at PTS, including University X. The marketing strategy is an important factor in attracting prospective students. One of them is the Marketing Mix and consumer behavior with the S-O-R (Stimulus-Organism-Response) model. This study aims to determine the effect of marketing mix variables (products, price, place, promotion, people, process, physical environment) and consumer behavior on student decisions in choosing a university. The results showed that the Marketing Mix variables simultaneously influenced prospective students' decision to study at X University. The product, place, people and process variables were variables that had a significant effect while the physical environment, price and promotion variables had no significant effect on individual students' decision to study at X University.

Abstract

The waste problem is still a significant problem in Indonesia. Therefore, an applicable solution must be implemented and have a considerable impact. Simple efforts to start awareness of an environmentally friendly lifestyle can be formed by reducing everyday plastic waste, such as using refillable drinking bottles or carrying shopping bags when shopping. Various communities, organizations, and startups have emerged, contributing significantly to waste management and supporting a sustainable lifestyle. One example of a startup that has started contributing is PT Siklus Refill Indonesia. PT Siklus Refill Indonesia has contributed to reducing plastic waste by efficiently using plastic for daily household needs in the Jabodetabek area since April 2020. Since the Covid-19 pandemic, product sales have increased due to social restrictions issued by the President, so customers depend on the company to meet daily household needs. But an unexpected event befalls the company and impacts sales and customer awareness. In January 2023, the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) warned the company that the company is prohibited from selling household daily necessities that come in direct contact with the skin, such as shampoo, bath soap, hand washing soap, and so on. The ban was based on Food and Drug Supervisory Agency Regulation No. 12 of 2023 concerning the Supervision of the Manufacture and Distribution of Cosmetics, ratified in March 2023. This incident impacted decreasing customer brand awareness, where the company needs customer awareness to introduce new business strategies that will be issued in the third quarter. Thus, companies need integrated marketing communications to increase customer and brand awareness. The analysis in this study uses internal and external business analysis. Internal analysis used Marketing Mix (7P), VRIO, and STP analysis. Whereas for external use PESTLE, Porter's Five Forces, and stakeholder analysis. Apart from that, to support the data, the analysis was carried out by distributing questionnaires to 103 respondents to obtain the results of a consumer awareness and behavior study with various points of analysis. The results of the questionnaire analysis are processed using SPSS software and descriptive statistics that will be used to design an appropriate and effective integrated marketing communication strategy for the company

Abstract

Indonesia's rapid economic growth has increased energy demands, necessitating a robust energy security strategy. In this context, natural gas is crucial as a transitional energy source for achieving net-zero emissions. Despite the abundance of natural gas reserves in the country, the government foresees a potential imbalance between demand and supply, posing risks of disruptions in the energy sector. To address these challenges, this study focuses on formulating a business strategy for Kangean Energy Indonesia Ltd. (KEI) over the next five years, focusing on ensuring sustainable gas deliverability through applying qualitative scenario planning. Scenario planning is a valuable analytical tool to identify and address the uncertainties that may impact the Indonesian gas industry. This methodological approach builds a strong foundation for developing effective business strategies.  The research draws upon both primary and secondary data sources. Based on a comprehensive stakeholder mapping, primary data is acquired through interviews with eight carefully selected stakeholders. Through these interviews, the study highlights two critical uncertainties that significantly influence the gas industry: supply and infrastructure. The study culminates in creating a comprehensive scenario framework complemented by detailed narratives exploring plausible future developments. Furthermore, the research delves into the implications and options for alternative strategies in light of these scenarios. Additionally, identifying early warning signals becomes instrumental in KEI's agile response to potential changes in the industry landscape. Through this approach, KEI can enhance its preparedness to address future challenges, ensuring sustained success in the dynamic and ever-evolving gas deliverability business. As Indonesia's energy landscape continues to evolve, KEI's commitment to scenario planning will be instrumental in securing the nation's stable and prosperous energy future
