Abstract

Baitul Maal wa Tamwil serves as a representation of Islamic financial institutions established by government entities to foster and develop a banking framework that aligns with the principles of Islamic doctrine. One of its leading products is Islamic financing. Behind the scenes, financing restructuring often occurs due to problems. This study focuses on BMT UGT Kalibaru in handling financing cases. This study aims to 1) analyze the causes of problematic financing, 2) examine the stages of resolution used by BMT UGT Kalibaru in handling problematic financing cases, and 3) determine the impacts caused and their solutions. This type of research is a case study. The data sources used are primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques use documentation, archival recordings, interviews, and observations. Data analysis uses an interactive model. The results of this study state that: 1) the causes of problematic financing in general are two causes, namely internal and external causes, and 2) the stages of resolving problematic financing in general are two paths, namely litigation and non-litigation. The mechanism carried out by BMT UGT Kalibaru starts from the rescheduling stage, re-requirements, collateral deliberation, and collateral confiscation, 3) the impact of problematic financing results in members being unable to withdraw savings and the state of financial circulation in the office.

Abstract

The low level of Islamic financial literacy in Indonesia, including among university students, is a major challenge in increasing Islamic financial inclusion in Indonesia. Although the Islamic finance industry is growing, students' understanding of Sharia-based principles and services, such as Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI), is still limited. This study analyzes the influence of Islamic financial knowledge and literacy on the decision of UIN Raden Fatah Palembang students to utilize BSI services. The method used is mixed with sequential explanatory design, combining multiple linear regression, in-depth interviews, and systematic review. The results showed that Islamic financial knowledge and literacy have a significant effect on student decisions. Factors such as the Fiqh Muamalah and Islamic Economics curricula, as well as the supportive attitude of the lecturers, contribute to improving students' understanding. Active learning, such as flipped classrooms, is also effective in strengthening understanding. Social media and technology play an important role in improving Islamic financial literacy, with the utilization of films, advertisements, and character actors and influencers being very influential in introducing Islamic financial products and improving corporate image and public trust. KKN students can contribute by conducting workshops and training for community education. Supportive policies and an adaptive organizational culture are needed for wider access to digital financial services and more effective teaching.

Abstract

In today's digital era, the quality of mobile banking services is a crucial factor in the banking industry. This study evaluates how mobile banking service quality affects bank customers' brand attachment and electronic word of mouth (eWOM). The study employed an online survey and analyzed the data using a statistical technique called Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results revealed that value-added features, security and privacy, and interactivity positively affect brand attachment. In addition, value-added features also have a positive effect on eWOM. Brand attachment has a positive relationship with eWOM and mediates security/privacy, value-added features, and interactivity with eWOM.

Abstract

The research investigates the impact of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) on stock returns in the mining sector of Indonesia. The study examines data from financial reports and annual reports of 37 Indonesian companies listed on the stock exchange between 2017 and 2021. The research measures stock return using various factors, including corporate social responsibility, firm age, firm size, return on equity (ROE), and return on assets (ROA). The results reveal that there is a significant positive relationship between ROA and stock return. However, firm age shows a significant negative relationship with stock return, whereas firm size, ROE, and CSR do not have a significant effect. The research findings contribute to the existing literature by suggesting that in Indonesia, investors do not consider CSR as a key factor when making investment decisions since they are not particularly interested in the CSR activities undertaken by companies.

Abstract

Export is an activity that provides many benefits. One of Indonesia's leading export products is coffee; however, its exports declined from 2016 to 2021. The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors that have influenced Indonesian coffee exports from 2016 to 2021. The analysis method used in this study uses the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model. The results of the study show that the competitiveness of Indonesian coffee exports is weakening, but the potential for Indonesian coffee exports in 2021 tends to be better than in 2016. The variables that influence Indonesian coffee exports in the short term are the volume of Indonesian coffee exports in the previous month and the previous two months, Indonesian coffee production, world coffee prices, world tea prices, and the RCA index. While in the long term, the variables that influence the volume of Indonesian coffee exports are Indonesian coffee production, world coffee prices, world tea prices, and the RCA index. The results of the analysis also show that competitiveness is the most determining factor in increasing Indonesian coffee exports in the world market. Therefore, the government is advised to increase the competitiveness of Indonesian coffee.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between supervisor humility, abusive supervision, and employee job satisfaction, employee creativity, and turnover intention. This study adds a turnover intention variable, which aims to determine the effect of turnover intention on the level of employees’ job satisfaction, and this research is expected to contribute to increasing the information at the theoretical or scientific level of human resource management, and also has positive managerial implications for increasing employees’ job satisfaction. This study employs a purposive sampling method, drawing on 175 employees from service companies in Jakarta, Indonesia. We used LISREL's factor analysis and structural equation modeling (SEM) methods. The result of this study is that supervisor humility has an indirect positive effect on employees’ creativity. On the other hand, abusive supervision has an indirect negative impact, in which employees’ job satisfaction is mediated by this type of supervision. Meanwhile, employees’ job satisfaction doesn’t have a negative effect on turnover intention, while abusive supervision has a positive effect. In this case, employee job satisfaction does not mediate the relationship between supervisor humility and abusive supervision on turnover intention, because the effect of job satisfaction on turnover intention is also unstable within an organization or company. The Covid-19 pandemic is still ongoing.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate how a company's dividend policy is influenced by the characteristics of its board of directors, business size, profitability, and free cash flow. The data to be analyzed in this study is quantitative secondary data obtained from the publication of financial statements by the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). This study employed a purposive sampling strategy to select 180 manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange between 2018 and 2020 as the research sample. Normality tests, heteroskedasticity tests, autocorrelation tests, multicollinearity tests, coefficient determination tests, linear regression analyses, and t-tests are the analysis methods used.  The t-test revealed that the characteristics of the commissioners had an influence on the company's dividend policy. While gender representation on the board of commissioners has a negative impact on dividend policy, the number of commissioners and free cash flow have a positive impact on dividend policy. Business dividend policy is not affected by the proportion of independent commissioners, company size, or profitability. However, dividend policy is significantly affected by free cash flow. The results showed that the proportion of independent commissioners in a company is usually lower than the number of commissioners owned by the company. Companies tend to allocate retained earnings to develop more profitable projects, thereby maximizing their profits. Companies that generate large inflows of free cash are more likely to make substantial dividend payments, thereby reducing waste on unprofitable projects.
