Abstract

This study aims to develop an instructional materials by discovery model with a cognitive conflict approach that has a positive impact on students' critical thinking skills, especially on temperature and heat material. The development of this instructional materials adapted the 4D (define, design, develop, and disseminate). Instructional materials developed in the form of syllabus, lesson plans, student worksheet, learning materials, as well as instruments of critical thinking skills in the form of a essay questions. This product was validated by three expert validators and obtained very high validity criteria. The practicality test is done by observing the implementation of learning accompanied by the questionnaire responses of teachers and students, and produces very high practicality criteria. The final value of critical thinking skills students also have high criteria. Therefore, the product developed can be declared valid, practical, and has a positive impact on students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Limited trial studies have been carried out on the application of Experimental Worksheets to train High School Student Science Process Skills (SPS). The limited trial subjects of the application of worksheets were students of class XI IPA-1 at SMAN 1 Kediri in the 2017/2018 Academic Year with a total of 21 people. The number of worksheets tested in physics learning material Temperature, Heat, and Heat Transfer are a number of 6 pieces consisting of worksheets for experiments Putting test marks on Thermometers, Substance Expansion, Change in Objects, Black Principle, Heat Transfer, and Heat Equation. Worksheets in this study aimed to trains students to improve the ability to formulate problems, make hypotheses, conduct experiments, and interpret information. In implementing these worksheets, the teacher uses the experimental method in learning activities with 4 meetings. The average SPS score obtained by students for each worksheet is 80 with good criteria. Thus, worksheets can be an alternative for physics teachers in training SPS students in high school

Abstract

This collaborative action research which was aimed to improve the quality of physics teaching through the implementation curriculum of 2004 in teaching scenario which oriented for process skill. This action research was conducted to the second year students of The State Senior High School 2 Mataram, by involving two teachers for giving the treatmen. The data needed such as observation result of teaching inthe class and the student response were collected by observation format of teaching in the class and questionnare. By using quantitative and qualitative analysis, it was found that 1) the implementation of process skill teaching can quality improvement of physic teaching in The State Senior High School 2 Mataram, 2) student's response for implementation of process skill teaching is good, 3) the student's opinion toward implementation of process skill teaching is quantitatively positive. Based on this result, it is recommended that physic teacher implement process skill teaching of teaching continuosly in order to improve student's achievement.

Abstract

Assessment is an essential part of learning. The success of a lesson can be known from the results of the assessment carried out both in aspects of the process and product. Some problems related to conventional assessments have to find the right solution. One of them is through the use of computer technology in assessment, which can be used both online and offline in a model better known as e-assessment. The final goal of this research is to produce an e-assessment model that is oriented to the thinking ability of the physics teacher candidates. This research includes development research, using the DDD-E model, namely: decide, design, develop, and evaluate. This article discusses the responses of students and lecturers to the models that have been developed. Respondents gave a positive response to the development of this model. Student responses are at intervals of 86% to 94%, with excellent categories. This model has the opportunity to continue to be developed for evaluation effectively and efficiently.

Abstract

Time lapse or 4D gravity is the development of gravity methods with the fourth dimension is time. This method is characterized by repetitive measurements over a period of time using a high-precision gravity measuring device (gravimeter) which is supported by high accuracy measurement of position. In the case of a fault that triggers an earthquake, layers that have a different density between layers will have the effect of changing the measured value of the gravitational field on the surface. The difference in the value of measured gravity before and after the occurrence of a fault as a result of an earthquake is what gives the value of time lapse gravity. The model of position displacement of the layers before and after the earthquake, provides a model of density between times whose gravitational anomalies can be calculated by forward response. The response of time-lapse forward model (synthetic data) is then optimized to obtain an inversion model. Inversion programming is made using the Mathlab program which is based on the semi-infinite horizontal slab equation. The model parameters that are optimized are horizontal position, depth, and amplitude factor of faulted layers. The program testing on 3 different synthetic data shows that the fastest optimization was obtained in the 7th iteration step. The smallest RMS error from the 3 models was 1.23. 10-5. This inversion program can be applied to time lapse gravity anomalies results of measurements in the field in active fault zones before and after the occurrence of an earthquake

Abstract

Quasi experimental research with "non-equivalent control group design" aims to determine the effect of conceptual understanding procedures model on the mastery of concepts and ability to solve the physics problems of class X students SMAN 1 Gerung tahun 2017/2018. Population in this research is all students of class X MIPA SMAN 1 Gerung with sampling technique using purposive sampling, so selected class X MIPA 2 as experiment class and class X MIPA 5 as control class. Data collection of the mastery of concepts was performed using multiple choice test with mean score for experimental class of 72,96 and for control class equal to 63,29 and problem solving ability using essay test with mean value for experiment class was 56,30 and for the control class of 44.48. After the teaching, the mastery of the concepts of both classes increased, the second highest grade values occurred in the mechanical energy sub-material with the percentage of 69% in the experimental class and 66% in the control class whereas the second lowest grade occurred on the restoring force sub-material. Problem-solving abilities (PSAs) were 6 indicators, in the control class PSA-1 higher than the experimental class, while the PSA-2 through the PSA-6 experimental class was higher than the control class. The hypothesis of this study was tested by the test-t polled variance with a significant level of 5% and obtained t count of 4.65 for the mastery of concepts and t count of 3.50 for problem-solving abilities while the t table value of 1.99 means t count more great from t table. The results of this study indicate that there is influence conceptual understanding procedures model to the mastery of the concept and ability of solving physics problems of students class X SMAN 1 Gerung academic year 2017/2018.

Abstract

The research have three aimed that include : (1) examine the effect of guided project based learning toward problem solving, (2) examine the effect of guided critical thinking ability toward problem solving, and (3) examine the interaction between  project based leraning and critical thinking ability toward problem solving. This research is quasi experiment with factorial 2×2 design. The population is all of class XI MIPA in SMAN 1 Narmada. The sampling tehnique is cluster random sampling which XI MIPA 3 as experiment group with project based learning model and XI MPA 2 as control group with convensional model. Tehnique of collecting data of problem solving using essay test 7 question and collecting data of critical thinking ability using essay test 5 question. Data of research is normal and homogen that showed by  , χ2quantification≤ χ2tabel  = 9,17<11,07 and 5,17<11,07. Data of reserach is analysed by anava two way with SPSS 18.0.  The result of anava two way test showed  that : (1)  is 0,001  which H0A rejected and H1A accepted, that showed there is the effect of project based learning toward problem solving.  (2)  is 0,001<0,05 which H0B rejected and H1B accepted, that showed there is the effect of critical thinking ability toward problem solving. (3)  is 0,69 >  which  H0AB accepted dan H1AB rejected, that showed there is not interaction between project based  learning and critical thinking ability toward problem solving.

Abstract

The purpose of of this study is to determine the validity of a learning tools of characters-based problem on light and optical concept. This type of research is Research & Development refers to Dick & Carey model which consists of ten stages namely: identify instructional goal, conduct instructional analysis, analyze learner and contexts, write performance objektives, develop assessment, develop intrucsional strategy, develop and select instructional material, design and conduct formative evaluation of instruction, revise instruction, design and conduct summative evaluation. The formative evaluation stage was done by: the validation of the learning tools (syllabus, lesson plan, students worksheets, evaluation instruments) by three experts twice validation. Validation has been carried out by experts using a validity test instrument in the form of a questionnaire. Validity test for syllabus, lesson plan, student worksheet and evaluation instruments get results with very feasible. In conclusion, learning tools of characters-based problem on light and optical concept was feasible to be applied in science learning processes.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the guided inquiry learning model assisted by contextual videos on the mastery of the physics concepts of students. This type of research is a quasi-experimental design with untreated control group design with pretest-posttest. The population in this study were all students of class X MIA SMAN 3 Mataram. Sampling uses a purposive sampling technique, so students selected class X MIA 3 as the control class and class X MIA 2 as the experimental class. The type of test used for concept mastery consists of 30 multiple choice questions. The average value of posttest mastery of concepts in the experimental class and control class is 73.20 and 66.18. The statistical analysis used for hypothesis testing in this study was the t-test with a significance level of 5%. Hypothesis test results show the value of t arithmetic 2.52 is greater than the value of t table that is 2.00 so that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted it can be concluded that there is an effect of the guided inquiry learning model assisted by contextual videos on the mastery of the physics concepts of students.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that teachers in learning have never used instructional media in the form of audio-visual or video in explaining learning materials for home design. This research is a development research (development research) with 4D design (define, design, developed, desimination). The study was conducted in the department of building engineering at SMKN 2 Kuripan especially on home design subjects. Retrieval of research data using project-based classical completeness tests. The results of the study, as many as 82.61% or 19 students thoroughly designed the house without having to do remidial, while the remaining 17.39% or 4 new people declared complete after remidial. In the second stage, students are assigned to practice the material by designing house plans. 100% complete results. Based on classical completeness data, bandicam-based audio visual media is proven to be able to provide effective learning.
