Abstract

This study is aimed todetermine the effect of  guided-inqury learning model combined with the experimental method on physics learning outcomes grade XI IPA in  SMAN 2 Mataram of academic year 2016/2017. This is quasi-experimental research with pretest and posttest control group design. The population is all students grade XI IPA in SMAN 2 Mataram and the sample is student class XI IPA-7 as the experimental group and class XI IPA-9 as the control one which is selected by purposive sampling. The data of physics outcomes learning is collected by using multiple-choice test. Average value obtained in experimental class is 77.00, while in control is 65.65. The highest N-gain value is in sub material elasticity properties of material, it is 51% in control  and 88% in experimental. Statistical used is t-test polled variance at significant level of 5% and the result obtained tcountis 6,27. This value is greater than ttable (ttable=1.993). It means that there is an influence of guided-inquiry learning model combined with the experimental method on physics learning outcomes grade XI IPA in SMAN 2 Mataram.

Abstract

Physics Education Student is a FKIP student who is printed to become a professional Physics teacher candidate. The competencies that must be possessed by professional teachers are pedagogic competence (ability to manage learning). As a prospective teacher who takes microteaching courses must master and have pedagogic competence. Pedagogic competence training can be done by trained eight basic teaching skills. In order for students to master the eight basic skills of teaching it is necessary to develop microteaching teaching materials. This research is a multi-year research with the type of research is development research following 4D model. The purpose of this research is to develop microteaching teaching materials that have been tested the level of feasibility. Data analysis uses expert validation sheets and user responses. The result of the research shows that the teaching material of micro teaching that has been developed is in good category.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of guided inquiry learning model toward critical thinking skills of students. This type of research is quasi experiment with non-equivalent group design. Sampling using purposive sampling technique, so that obtained class XI MIA 1 as experiment class and class XI MIA 2 as control class. The research instrument is a essay test of 5 questions that have been tested for validity, reliability, level of difficulty, and different power of problems. The learning data of the two classes is normally distributed. Based on the homogenity data obtained both homogeneous. Data were analyzed by MANOVA test. Result of data analysis show significance  0,021 if  determined the level of significance 0,05 then 0,021<0,05. Based on these facts it can be concluded that there is influence of guided inquiry learning model toward critical thinking skills of students.

Abstract

The research on coastal sand in Mataram-Lombok city, located at several beaches, namely, Gading, Loang Baloq, Penghulu Agung, and Ampenan, is to determine the percentage of magnetic mineral content, metal content, and oxide mineral composition contained on those sand. Iron is a sediment containing magnetite (Fe3O4), maghemit (γ-Fe2O3) and hematite (α-Fe2O3) as the main mineral and several other minerals as a supporting mineral. Magnetic separation of natural sand by using a permanent magnet successfully separates the magnetic parts (iron sand) and non-magnetic. The separation results were then analyzed for Fe metal content, the quantity of metal content, and the quantity of oxide minerals using AAS, XRD, and XRF. The result of AAS analysis showed that Fe content in natural sand in Gading , Loang Baloq , Penghulu Agung  and Ampenan Beach were 10,573 mg / gr, 12,816 mg / gr, 15,019 mg / gr, and 16,277 mg / gr, respectively. XRF analysis results in four locations have iron content respectively of 73.4%, 62.1%, 76.8%, and 69.8% in Hematite compound phase. As for the results of XRD analysis at these four locations the phases are magnetite and hematite phases.

Abstract

A research measurement of spin-lattice relaxation time (T1) with a pulse NMR spectrometer as well as a test of strength (tensile test and compression test) polymer material PVC (Poly Vinyl Chloride) with tools united-1 test system SFM SFM-30. The study aims to investigate the influence of the neutron fluence on the spin-lattice relaxation time (T1) and to determine the PVC polymer material strength test. On the measurement of the spin-lattice relaxation time (T1) is used method pulse 180o-t-90o and pulse method 90o-t-90o, by means of NMR minispec P.20. Measurement of PVC polymer material strength testing using tools united-1 test system SFM SFM-30. The results showed that the spin-lattice relaxation time (T1) PVC polymer influenced by variations in relaxation times (fluence) neutrons. From the graph of the spin-lattice relaxation time (T1) vs. neutron fluence with the method 90o-t-90o obtained increases and decreases in the value of T1. The value of the spin-lattice relaxation time at the minimum fluence 34.56x1016n/cm2, and the average value of the minimum T1 is (271.1±5.4) for the milli second pulse method 180o-t-90o and the average value The minimum T1 is (263.5±5.3) for the milli second pulse method 90o-t-90o. The value of the spin-lattice relaxation time at the maximum fluence 60.98 x 1016 n/cm2, the average value of the minimum T1 was (481.9±10.1) milli second to the method also 180o-t-90o and the average value of T1 The minimum was (482.5±9.7) for the milli second pulse method 90o-t-90o. Test the strength of the PVC polymer is affected by the neutron fluence. Graph PVC polymer material strength test vs. neutron fluence obtained increases and decreases in the value of the strength of the PVC polymer. Value of the minimum strength of the PVC polymer materials at fluence 34.56 x 1016 n/cm2, the average value of the minimum σ is (9.5± 0.1) MPa for tensile test, and the average value is the minimum σ (38.4±0.1) MPa for compression test. Value of the maximum power of the PVC polymer materials at fluence 60.98x1016n/cm2, the average value of the maximum σ is (43.2±0.9) MPa for tensile test and the average value of the maximum σ is (55.4±1.1) MPa for compression test.

Abstract

Based on previous research, the student had many misconceptions occurred in dynamic electrical material so the researcher developed interactive ebook of dynamic electrical material which was integrated with PhET simulation software to reduce misconception on that material. The purposes of this study are: (1) Describe the validity of an interactive ebook based on expert assessment in terms of material, media, and language and three physics teachers; (2) Describe the effectiveness of interactive ebook based on the decrease of student misconception after learning with developed ebook; and (3) Describe the practicality of the ebook based on the student response questionnaire. The method used in ebook development refers to the Instructional Design Strategy developed by Moore & Kearsley with the sequence: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluations. The results of this study are: (1) Development of an interactive ebook is in a very decent category in terms of validity from expert assessment on material, media, and language ebook and three physics teachers; (2) The effectiveness of interactive ebook is in the effective category, it could reduce student misconceptions on dynamic electrical materials effectively; and (3) The developed ebook are very practical to use, responses of students were positively

Abstract

This study aims at developing teaching module in crystal structure that is suitable to be used at Introduction to Solid State Physics course at the Department of Physics Education, Faculty of Education, University of Mataram. This module was developed by using 4D (define, design, development and disseminate) and its writing technique used a combined compilation and information re-packing technique. Research instruments were crystal structure teaching module, reviewer evaluation sheets on the contents, displays and the language use, as well as students evaluation questionnaire. The teaching module consists of crystal lattice, crystallographic directions and planes, and simple crystal structure. Reviewers respond that the teaching module was of very good category in its contents, display and the use of language. Accordingly, a limited test of the use of this teaching module revealed that this teaching module was of very good category, which denotes that this teaching module was easily understood by students and appropriate to be used. It can be concluded that the teaching module was suitable to be used as supporting material in the Introduction to Solid State Physics course, and it is expected that the use of this teaching module may support students understanding and mastery in crystal structure among pre-service Physics teachers

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the use of interactive multimedia as a learning medium in improving physics learning achievement. This type of research is an experimental design one group pre-test post-test with a quantitative approach. The population in the study were all students of class X semester 2 of SMK Negeri 2 Ende which consisted of 13 classes in 5 skill programs totaling 421 people and the sample of the research was 26 students of TKJ class XC as many as 26 people. The sampling technique was purposive sampling. Data collection techniques in this study are achievement test techniques. Data were analyzed by t test. The results showed that the use of interactive multimedia (MMI) as a learning medium can improve physics learning achievement. This is evidenced by the value of t count ˃ t table or 3.491> 1.708 with the degree of freedom to list the distribution t is dk = N-1 = 26-1 = 25, and the significance level is 0.05.

Abstract

In the modern era, physics lessons are still one of the subjects that some students find difficult.When students feel difficult to learn, the result is a decrease in the value of physics lessons. Based on these problems, researchers try to provide solutions to overcome the difficulties students in learning physics. This research was conducted at the PGRI First Middle School in Sengon Village, Purwosari District.Improving student learning achievement can be influenced by several factors, one of which is the activity of students in the learning process of physics. On increasing learning activity students can use several methods, one of which is the POE method (Prediction, Observation, and Explanation). In this method learning is centered on students, the prediction step is predicting and thinking examples of experiments conducted by the teacher. Observation step, students conduct experiments directly and explanation step students are required to communicate in the form in sentences from the step of prediction and observation. Measuring activity with observations made by peers in the learning process, while achievements with questions given in cycles I and II. Based on the results of the research cycle I and cycle II in terms of activity and student learning achievement said to increase well. On results of these research, it can be said that physics learning using the POE method is a solution to overcome a decline in student learning achievement.

Abstract

This study aims to determine level of critical thinking ability when learning process kinetic theory of gas with conceptual change model outcome review from high school student learning style. This type of research is pre experiment with factorial design  (level 3). The research population is all grade XI IPA in SMA Negeri 7 Mataram with sampling technique using purposive sampling. Three samples were taken as experimental class which is class XI MIPA 1 taught with CCM visual style, XI IPA 2 taught by CCM auditory style, and XI IPA 3 taught with CCM kinesthetic style. The student learning style data on was taken using by questionnaire with 4 alternative options. The critical thinking ability’s data collected by using sheets of critical thinking skill based on student's answer to LKS. The result data was analyzed with descriptive statistical test and classified based on categorization level of critical thinking ability. Based on the analysis result, it can be concluded level of critical thinking ability when learning process kinetic theory of gas with conceptual change model outcome review from high school student learning style including into medium category with value of 70,87.
