Abstract

This study aims to analyze the attitude of learning independence against learning physics for students of class XII MIA MAN 1 Batang Hari. This research uses quantitative research methods with descriptive statistical analysis techniques. The research sample uses a sampling technique that is total sampling. Total sampling is a sampling technique where the number of samples is equal to the population. The technique of collecting data is by submitting an instrument consisting of a questionnaire to a predetermined research sample. The results of this study indicate that the assessment of student independence is in the good category but some are not good.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of PhET media guided inquiry learning model toward the problem solving and critical thinking skills of high school students. This type of research was quasi-experimental research design with pretest-posttest control group design. The population was all students of class X IPA of SMAN 1 Jereweh in the 2018/2019 academic year. The samples were taken using purposive sampling technique and obtained class X IPA 1 as an experimental class and class X IPA 2 as a control class. The independent variable of guided inquiry learning model assisted by PhET media that was  imposed on the experimental class, while the ability to solve problems and critical thinking  as the dependent variable. The data were taken using essay tests to measure students' problem solving and critical thinking skills. The research hypothesis was tested using the Manova test with a significant level of 5% aided by IBM SPSS 23 and the results of the hypothesis test showed a significant 0.028 so Ha was accepted because sig. <0.05.Based on these results it can be concluded that there was  an effect of the treatment of guided inquiry model assisted by PhET media on the students'physicsproblem solving  and critical thinking skills at senior high school.

Abstract

This research aimed to investigate problem-solving ability (PSA) and creativity of students through physics learning with causalitic-thinking approach with scaffolding of type 2b. With the scaffolding, in learning, students have to determine all causes and predict all possible effects in a phenomenon, also give arguments how conditions of each cause so that each effect occur. However, the number of the causes and effects is informed and part of the causes, effects, and arguments also be given so the students only need to complete them. This research used method of experiment with control group design. As population were students of class XI MIA SMAN 3 Mataram year 2017/2018 while as sample were the students of class XI MIA 8 and XI MIA 9. Data of the PSA and creativity were taken by using one set of test instrument and respectively analyzed with t-test and U-test at significance level of 5%. The former test showed that tcounted is 12.621 with ttable of 2.004 which meant that the approach affected PSA of students. While, the latter one showed that zcounted is 6.69 with ztable of 1.96 which meant that the approach also affected creativity of students.

Abstract

One effort to improve the quality of learning physics is by developing abilities in problem solving. Problem solving abilities are complex cognitive activities using thought processes. For students, by knowing problem solving abilities, they can do self-reflection and have learning motivation to change for the better. For teachers, knowing students' abilities in problem solving can be used as a guide for designing learning strategies and evaluations that are suitable for improving problem solving skills. For this reason, it is necessary to identify problem solving abilities of high school students. Methods of research data collection using tests and interviews. Tests for measuring problem solving abilities are categorized as ill-structured problems and well-structured problems. The results showed that students were better able to solve well-structured problems than ill-structured problems. The ability of students to solve well-structured problems and ill-structured problems, most of them are included in the category of novice and only a small proportion are categorized as expert. The novice and expert characteristics based on the results of the study is described in detail in the part of discussion.

Abstract

This research is motivated by changes in the science learning process, especially at the tertiary level which trains student teacher candidates to use their thinking potential through social interaction in learning. In addition, the lack of development of the media in Integrated Science lectures is also a particular concern in this study. The purpose of this study is to analyze how the response of lectures and students of Physics Education at the University of Muhammadiyah Makassar to the use of Interactive Multimedia Macromedia Flash in Integrated Science lectures. The research sample consisted of 5 (five) integrated science lectures and 35 (thirty-five) students. This research is qualitative research that describes how the response of lecturers and students to the learning media used. The data in this research are lecturer response questionnaire data and student response questionnaire data. The data is then analyzed descriptively. Based on the results of the validation analysis of learning media by the validator (expert), the Aiken index average 0,76 in the medium category. Based on the results of the study found 87,50 % of lecturers responded positively to the use of interactive multimedia learning media with Macromedia Flash in Integrated Science lecturers. And as much as 83,86 % students gave a positive response to the use of interactive multimedia learning media with Macromedia flash in Integrated Science lectures

Abstract

The integration between interactive media and HOTS question could give a big impact on learning process in class room, especially on learning interest and student concept understanding. Android is a learning media that could save more information and questions like ebook. This study was conducted to determine the feasibility of an Android-based electronic book with High Order Thinking Skills to Help Students Analyze Amounts on Straight Motion Material. This research method was used in the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation). The electronic book was tested for validation by the validator with an average value of 3.94 and the module readability test with respondents of 25 students who obtained an average value of 96%. Based on the data obtained, it can be conclude that the electronic book has decent criteria.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim to find out the description of the attitude of interest in learning towards physics possessed by students in SMA Negegi 6 Muaro Jambi. The design of this research is quantitative research with the instrument used is a questionnaire. The population of this study is 6 Muaro Jambi Public High School and the sample taken is Muaro Jambi 6 Public High School students. Data analysis was performed using the SPSS Application. From this study it can be said that students in Muaro Jambi 6th High School XI and XII have a good interest in learning about Physics, which is as much as 46%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to make and test radial derivatives for identification of single layers. Radial Derivatives are derivatives of gravitational anomaly values with respect to the horizontal distance in the radial direction of a particular point. The center of the derivative is chosen based on consideration as the center of the anomaly of target. Several synthetic single layer models have been made in the form of temple artifacts and water table changes over time. From these models, the gravity anomalies are calculated forward. Radial derivatives of these anomalies are performed to determine the vertical boundary of a single layer. Radial derivatives in a single layer of temple artifacts are useful for determining the boundaries of temple walls, so that the analysis of artifact excavation points can be better determined. Radial derivatives in anomalies in water table changes over time are useful for sorting shallow gravity anomalies which have significant value. The result of this research shows that radial derivative is able to detect boundary of buried temple and also boundary of water table. The advantage of the radial derivative method is that it is not necessary to re-measure if gravity data has been previously measured. In other words, this method is a software to review the further analysis that might have been done before.

Abstract

The integration of ICT in the learning process has a positive effect on students' concepts understanding and learning interests. Android is a learning media tool that can store lots of interesting learning materials, such as electronic modules. This study was conducted to determine the feasibility of an Android-based electronic module with temperature and heat material feedback for high school / MA students. This research method is used in the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation). The electronic module was tested for validation by the validator with an average value of 3.49 and the module readability test with respondents of 85 students who obtained an average value of 79.3%. Based on the data obtained, it can be conclude that the electronic module has decent criteria.

Abstract

Student often found that physics full of difficulty by using many equations to solve some problems and this lead to the decreased of problem solving ability in physics. One of the ways that suggested to increase problem solving in physics is using generative learning combined with PQ4R method and scaffolding. Because of that, this research aim to discover the influence of generative learning with PQ4R method through scaffolding toward ability to solve problem in physics. The type of this study is quasi experimental with non-equivalent control grup design with pretest-postest. Sampling was done by purposive sampling technique with XI MIA 2 as the experimental class and XI MIA 3 as the control class. The experimental class in this study was given generative learning with PQ4R method and scaffolding, while the control class was given conventional learning as the treatment. The results of ability to solve problem was obtained by essay test which consist 7 items and analyzed using t-test polled varians. Data analysis show that Ho was refused and the Ha was accepted. Therefore, there was an effect of generative learning with PQ4R method through scaffolding toward problem solving in physics.
