Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has led to increased public awareness to change their lifestyle to be healthier. As a result, people are becoming more selective in consuming vegetables, so they choose to consume organic vegetables, which are considered safer. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of variables such as age, income, education level, the number of family members who have been infected with Covid-19, and close people who have been infected with Covid-19, which affect the purchase of organic vegetables, consumer preferences for the attributes of organic vegetables and the most important attributes for consumers. In deciding to buy organic vegetables in Surakarta City during the Covid-19 pandemic. The basic method is descriptive. The sample was determined by accidental sampling, and the city of Surakarta was deliberately chosen as the research location. The sampling technique used is accidental sampling. The data analysis method used is the method of multiple linear regression analysis, Chi-Square, and fishbein multi-attribute analysis methods. The results showed that the independent variables significantly affected the dependent variable together. Income variables, the number of family members infected with Covid-19, and the closest people infected with Covid-19 have a significant effect on purchasing organic vegetables in Surakarta City during the Covid-19 pandemic. Attributes of organic vegetables that have become consumer preferences during the covid-19 pandemic are good physical perfection where broad leaves do not have holes; freshness level is very fresh (<1 day), bright light green color, plastic packaging with the organic label, low price (<Rp. 10,000,-/package 200 grams), and medium-size (200-500 grams). The most important attribute in consumer considerations when deciding to buy organic vegetables, especially in Surakarta City during the Covid-19 pandemic, is the level of freshness. The order of attributes of organic vegetables from the most important to the least important is the level of freshness, physical perfection, packaging, color, price, and size.

Abstract

This article aims to determine the effect of the dose of soil dressing enriched with Phosphate solubilizing bacteria on the difference in harvest time on the yield of potato seeds. The environmental design used was a Randomized Group Design (RGD), there were nine treatments and each treatment was repeated 3 times. The combination of treatments tested as follows: A= control harvested at the age of 90 DAP, B= control harvested at the age of 100 DAP, C= control harvested at the age of 110 DAP, D= soil reformer 10 tons ha-1  in harvest 90 DAP, E= soil reformer 10 tons ha-1  harvested 100 DAP, F= soil reformer 10 tons ha-1 harvested 110 DAP, G= soil reformer 20 ha-1  harvested 90 DAP,  H= soil reformer 20 tons ha-1  harvested 100 DAP and I= soil reformer 20 ha-1  harvested 110 DAP. The results showed that the administration of various doses of soil reformers that had been enriched with PSB was able to increase plant height, number of leaves, number of planting tubers and weight of planting tubers when compared to controls. The best response was shown from a dose of soil dressing treatment of 10 tons of ha-1 at harvest time of 100 DAP.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the elasticity price transmission of papaya fruit at the farmer level (producer) and at the consumer level (retailer) in Indramayu Regency. Papaya is one of the fruits favored by the public because of its vitamin content, fresh taste, and low price. The price transmission elasticity (Et) analysis uses a simple regression between two prices, namely prices at the farm level and at the retailer level. The research data uses time series data on monthly papaya prices at the farmer level and at the consumer level in Indramayu Regency during the 2014-2020 period. The results of the analysis show that the price elasticity of papaya fruit in Indramayu Regency is inelastic (Et < 1). This shows that price changes at the farmer level are smaller than the price changes at the retail level. This means that farmers have not received good prices from traders.

Abstract

Javanese ginseng (Talinum paniculatum Gaertn) is one of the medicinal plants which its roots (tubers) and leaves can be used as a medicine. The productivity of javanese ginseng is influenced by the availability of water. The purpose of this study was to determine the growth of javanese ginseng under the differences of watering volume. Watering volume treatment consisted of 7 treatments with 4 replications using a Randomized Block Design (RBD). Watering volume treatment consisted of 80% of field capacity (control), 50% of field capacity, 60% of field capacity, 70% of field capacity, 90 of field capacity, 100% of field capacity and 110% of field capacity. Watering volume treatment on javanese ginseng gave significantly different effect on plant height, number of leaves, root length, wet weight, and chlorophyll content, while the insignificant difference was shown in the number of stomata and relative moisture content. The best growth for plant height, number of leaves, root length, wet weight and chlorophyll content of javanese ginseng was shown in the treatment of watering volume of 50% of field capacity.

Abstract

Leri water is rice washing wastewater which has been only thrown away by the community, is easily produced or obtained every day, and can be used as organic fertilizer in plant cultivation. This study aims to determine the potential of leri water as organic fertilizer for pakcoy plants with table model DFT hydroponics. This research method was carried out using three nutrient solution treatments, namely leri water (N1), leri water + AB mix with a ratio of 1:1 (N2), and AB mix (N3). The results of the measurement of the number of leaves (strands), plant height (cm), and plant weight (g) in the three nutrient solution treatments were compared to determine whether there was a difference using one-way ANOVA with a level of 5%. If the results are significantly different, then proceed with the Tukey's HSD test at the 5% level. The results showed that leri water has the potential as a liquid organic fertilizer when added to AB mix fertilizer, with a ratio of 1:1 (N2) can increase the weight of pakcoy plants by four times the yield of N1.
