Abstract

Puskesmas is a health service facility that organizes community and individual health efforts at the first level. The Muara Jawa Health Center in Kutai Kartanegara Regency produces Hazardous and Toxic Waste (B3) which is processed in collaboration with third parties, in the process of delivering B3 waste from producers to processing, B3 waste transportation services are required, where this transportation also requires collaboration with third parties. Throughout 2022, the average volume of medical waste at the Muara Jawa Health Center in Kutai Kartanegara Regency will reach 1 kg/day. The Muara Jawa Health Center, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, as a producer of B3 waste, must know the completeness of the documents and the safety of the vehicle and the driving of the B3 waste transporters who are invited to cooperate, this is to avoid incidents, one of which is the illegal transport of B3 waste. The aim of the study was to find out the results of monitoring the transport of Hazardous and Toxic Waste (B3) from producers at the Muara Jawa Health Center, Kutai Kartanegara Regency. This research was conducted by observing the completeness and safety of transporting B3 waste, interviewing employees of environmental health at the Muara Jawa Community Health Center, Kutai Kartanegara Regency. Based on the results of observations and interviews, the completeness and safety of transporting B3 waste refers to the Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry Number 6 of 2021 concerning Procedures and Requirements for the Management of Hazardous and Toxic Waste , obtaining an assessment result of 94.11% according to conditions lacking in the festronic section for transporting B3 waste which still uses manifest. Abstract

Aviation safety is a very important factor in every flight operation. This study aims to determine the Effectiveness of the Implementation of the Runway Excursion Emergency Response System at PT. Angkasa Pura I (Persero) Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan-Balikpapan International Airport in tackling Incident/Accident at the Airport. The benefit of this research is to add insight and knowledge of researchers about the Effectiveness of the Implementation of the Runway Excursion Emergency Response System and as an evaluation material on the Effectiveness of the Implementation of the Runway Excursion Emergency Response System at the Airport, especially Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan-Balikpapan International Airport. This research method uses descriptive qualitative with collecting techniques from observations and interviews. The location of this research was conducted at PT. Angakasa Pura I Airport Branch Office of Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan-Balikpapan International Airport, especially in the Airport Rescue And Fire Fighting Services unit. The conclusion of this study is based on data collected from 3 predetermined variables, namely: response team, quality and quantity of PKP-PK personnel and PKP-PK Emergency Response Facilities. So, the average result is obtained with the achievement of a percentage value of 81.33% or in the level of effectiveness the result is "Very Effective".

Abstract

Loading and Unloading is one of the activities carried out in the process of forwarding (shipping) goods. What is meant by loading activities is the process of moving goods from the warehouse, raising and then stacking them on the ship, while unloading activities are the process of removing goods from the ship and then arranging them in a warehouse in the port or Stock pile or container yard. In the process of loading and unloading activities, of course, there are many risks and dangers that can occur from every process of loading and unloading work, therefore, a K3 management system is needed to make the work of loading and unloading goods safely done and does not cause potential loss of life, loss, property damage and environmental damage for the company and others. As an effort to prevent work accidents, It is necessary to identify the source of the hazard at work. Without knowing the dangers, accident control and prevention efforts cannot be carried out. Identifying the source of hazards in the work environment will be an essential part of drafting measures to prevent work accidents. One method to identify the source of danger is Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA). This research was conducted with qualitative methods. From the results of the study obtained results in the form of 5 stages of work in loading and unloading goods at PT Prima Arya Pratama. There are 10 potential hazards to the work of loading and unloading goods, and control has been carried out using control hierarchy guidelines.

Abstract

The Coal Handling System is a system to handle everything from unloading coal from barges to stockpiling coal at PLTU Kaltim Teluk. The fire hazard in the coal handling system can be triggered by the large amount of coal fuel, coal dust and the potential for self-ignition to coal dust explosions. Active fire protection systems make a major contribution to the success of fire management. Therefore, it is necessary to have an overview of the application of an active protection system and the level of compliance with NFPA standards which include: NFPA 10, NFPA 13, NFPA14, NFPA20, NFPA72, NFPA850. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative with data collection: observation and interviews. Assessment of the results of the existing suitability will be assessed using a descriptive percentage calculation. The results showed that of the 7 variables with 63 elements discussed, 93% were in accordance with the standard and 4 elements (7%) were not met. Based on the fire audit assessment level of the Research and Development Center of the Ministry of Public Works, the results are in the criteria of Good or have met the requirements.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of the application of a confined space special work permit procedure for welding the main tank of the fuel truck at PT. Mangala Usaha Manunggal. Confined space has a very high potential hazard that can endanger the safety of someone who enters it, so prevention efforts are needed to avoid work accidents, one of which is the application of a special work permit to work in a confined space. This type of research is descriptive research with qualitative methods. Data collection was done through observation and interviews. Informants in this study consisted of: 1 head of the HSE department, 1 HSE executive, 1 head of the PLANT department, and 1 work supervisor. Data analysis based on KEP No. 113/DJPPK/IX/2006, and SOP-00-HSE-008 special work permit for PT. Mangala Usaha Manunggal. The process of working in confined spaces includes the implementation of procedures for the confined spaces system in which every work in a confined space must have a person in charge, working employees, stand-by person and safety officer who gives permission to work in the confined spaces area. The results of this study indicate that the amount of conformity between regulatory standards and existing conditions at the work preparation stage is 86%, at the work implementation stage is 81%, at the closing/completed work stage is 100%, then the overall value obtained is 89% so that these results indicate the level of achievement in the level of effectiveness included in the criteria of "fairly effective". Conclusion from The application of special work permit procedures for confined spaces work at PT Manggala Usaha Manunggal has not been fully in accordance with KEP No. 113/DJPPK/IX/2006, but has been "effectively enough" carried out according to company procedures. This is because the company has not certified personnel/officers in particular (intermediate and primary) for work in confined spaces, the company has not provided SCBA (self contain breathing apparatus), the company's Rescue Plan has never conducted a first aid simulation for victims in a confined space, the company does not yet have certified first aid personnel as required in the guidelines.

Abstract

Occupational Health and Safety (K3) is an activity that ensures the creation of safe working conditions, protected from physical and mental disorders through coaching and training, directing, and controlling the implementation of tasks from employees and providing assistance in accordance with applicable regulations, both from institutions government and the companies they work for. PT. Astra International Tbk-Honda in terms of Occupational Safety and Health has not carried out a risk assessment of service activities in its workshop, therefore it is necessary to identify hazards and risk assessments as well as control the service work of the two-wheeled unit. The research method used by the author is a qualitative descriptive methodology. With data collection techniques, namely interviews, observations and documentation. After the researchers conducted research with observations and interviews, the data obtained, compiled, grouped and then interpreted objectively so that an overview of the problems studied was obtained. Two are activities that have a high risk and from the Two Wheel Unit Service activity there are 19 risks from 3 stages of tube heat exchanger maintenance activities. The risk assessment was carried out on 19 emerging risks, after the assessment, it was found that from 19 emerging risks there were 9 risks with a high risk level, 8 risks with a medium risk level, and 2 risks with a low risk level. Risk control is carried out using a hierarchy of control guidelines (elimination, substitution, technical control, administration, and personal protective equipment), the results of the assessment of 19 risks have decreased to 19 risks with 6 levels of medium risk and 13 levels of low risk.

Abstract

The implementation of SMK3 in PP 50 in 2012, mentioned that K3 communication is part of supporting activities for the prevention of work accidents. One of the prevention efforts in K3 is to implement safety communications programs, including the implementation of safety talk or toolbox meetings at work. Toolbox meetings are defined as informal job training, these talks are designed to convey a safety message to improve safety and prevent work-related incidents (Varley &Boldt, 2002). The implementation of the Toolbox Meeting is part of supporting activities for the prevention of work accidents. This research aims to find out the effectiveness of K3 communication in the Toolbox Meeting at PT Pelabuhan Penajam Banua Taka. This research is Quantitative with the SPSS software banyuan and the Depdagri Effectiveness Test Theory (2009). The population in this study was a Worker of the Oprasional Department of Juru Ikat PT Pelabuhan Penajam Banua Taka which amounted to 76 people, with a sample of 43 people. The sampling technique used is probability sampling, namely by simple random sampling. Using Kuisoner Likert with 35 positive statements in each sub-variable sourced from the theory of Ron Ludlow &Fergus Panton, the K3 Communication Barrier. The result of calculating the effectiveness of the implementation of the meeting toolbox is 66.67% which is Quite Effective. Strengthened by observations and interviews that found a less wide-ranging perspective or called Perceptual Distraction that causes K3 Communication in toolbox meetings to be hampered. Then on the Culture Difference factor that cultural differences in this case K3 culture and discipline culture that has not worked well so as to inhibit effective communication. In the Poor Choise Communicaton Channel factor in this case the selection of toolbox meeting material, they feel saturated with Toolbox Meeting Material that is less attractive so that it relates to the No Feed Back factor, namely workers are less enthusiastic in responding during the implementation of toolbox meetings.

Abstract

Industry and services at this time has used equipment or machines as well as hazardous materials used in daily work activities. One of the equipment or machines used by the aviation industry is X-ray aircraft by utilizing X-rays as a tool to detect passenger luggage. Since the discovery of X-rays in 1895 and then the production of radiographic equipment for the health and industrial fields, it has had a great impact on human life. This study aims to determine the level of occupational safety and health risk on X-ray equipment operational officers in the Security Check Point area. This research is a qualitative research and an assessment of health risks using the Health Risk Assessment (HRA) method. From the results of the study, there were 3 risks that could affect the health of workers, namely, inappropriate Personal Protective Equipment, room temperature and radiation exposure caused by the X-ray equipment. Therefore, it is necessary to have control by the company such as personnel monitoring tools, namely pocket dosimeters, film badges, TLD badges so that the dose received by each worker can be monitored.

Abstract

Food Safety is a condition and effort needed to prevent Food from being contaminated by biological, chemical, and other objects that can interfere, harm, and endanger human health and do not conflict with religion, belief, and community culture so that it is safe for consumption. HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) is a quality assurance system based on the awareness that hazards can arise at various points or certain stages of production, but can be controlled against these hazards. This study aims to determine the application of HACCP principles as food safety quality control at CV Nikmat Catering Balikpapan. The benefit of this research is as an evaluation material to improve the quality of food production. Descriptive qualitative research method with data collection techniques of observation and interviews. The research location is at CV Nikmat Catering Balikpapan, especially the production kitchen area. The results show that the HACCP principles that have been carried out are hazard identification, determination of critical control points, critical limits, monitoring systems, corrective actions, and validation whereas, in principle, documentation and recording have not been carried out because there are no records of hazard identification and monitoring records that have been recorded. done.

Abstract

Abstrak : Along with the increasing volume of work in the lathe workshop will also increase the risk of accidents that will occur as observed in the turning work. This study aims to determine the level of risk of accidents in the lathe workshop while doing the lathe work. This research is a qualitative research and assessment of the risk level of accidents with risk assessment which in this study refers to ISO 31000. The results showed that the percentage incidence of workplace accidents at the lathe workshop found work turning up ranked first with a percentage of 18.5% and ranking the second is occupied by cutting work using a lathe with an accident percentage of 14.3% with risk ranking and hazard level with a value of 5C / 15. Prevention of results of determination of risk ranking and hazard level for risk assessment identification is emphasized through the approach to improving labor qualifications, tool certification, use of assistive devices and transport, building energy-saving programs, applying SOP and JSA, effective use of PPE and dissemination of HSE implementation
