Abstract

Schizophrenia is an acute and chronic psychiatrist with many environmental and genetic determinants. Some reports suggest that it plays an important role in the regulation of the immune system in the cause of schizophrenia. The evidence collected shows a link between schizophrenia and psychopathology and decreased cytokine production. Interferon gamma +874 A/T gene polymorphism located at base tide to +874. Purpose: This literature review aims to identify polymorphism of the Interferon Gamma +874 A/T gene in Schizophrenia patients. Method: Design research is literature review. Literature searches are conducted by conducting international and national journal searches. The search results of the articles on the database were found as many as 32 articles. The number of articles that fit the inclusion criteria is as many as 28 articles. The results of the literature review obtained 5 journals that discuss polymorphism gene Interferon Gamma +874 A/T in pasein schizophrenia. The 5 journals are case study research. Result: From the articles that have been discussed, it can be concluded that the first 874+ polymorphisms of the interferon gamma gene are associated with the production of this compound. The presence of the AA genotype is associated with a decrease in cytokine production, and the AT genotype is associated with moderate cellulose production and high TT as well as cell production.

Abstract

Coffee is one of the beverages favored by the public. Coffee contains caffeine which is able to increase concentration and this ability takes place depending on the dose received by the body. The purpose of this study is to characterize caffeine nanoparticles polymerized PLGA and Pva.In the manufacture of caffeine nanoparticles using ingredients in the form of robusta coffee beans that have been dried and roasted which is then done the extraction process with digesti method, so that caffeine obtained. Then the caffeine that has been obtained is made into a formulation of polylytic nanoparticles PLGA and PVA. In the process of making nanoparticle formulations are used emulsion solvent evaporation method. The formulation of caffeine nanoparticles is characterized using PSA and the particle morphology is performed using TEM. The result of characterization using PSA obtained an average diameter of 173.8 nm, zeta potential -16.2 mV and PDI of 0.148.For morphology see spheric surface shape. So that caffeine from orbusta coffee beans can be prepared using PLGA and PVA polymers using emulsion solvent evaporation method.

Abstract

Daun randu (Ceiba pentandra L.) secara tradisional di manfaatkan sebagai obat luka bakar dengan kandungan metabolit sekunder saponin yang memiliki efek penyembuhan luka bakar. Tujuan penelitian mengetahui efek krim ekstrak Daun Randu berkhasiat pada penyembuhan luka bakar.Penelitian merupakan penelitian eksperimental dengan menggunakan 5 kelompok hewan uji. Kontrol (-) F0, kontrol (+) Bioplacenton, F1 ekstrakdaun randu 10%, F2 ekstrak daun randu 15% dan F3 ekstrak 20%. Uji efektifitas krim ekstrak daun randu terhadap penyembuhan luka bakar dilakukan dengan induksi luka bakar menggunakan solder yang di modifikasi dengan suhu mencapai 1000 C pada punggung mencit yang telah di cukur bulunya dengan menggunakan Veet dengan diameter 1cm. Proses penyembuhan luka bakar dilakukan selama 14 hari, dihitung diameter luka bakar setiap pagi. Hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan SPSS 16 dengan uji one way anova. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya perbedaan yang bermaknaatau berbedanyata dengan nilai signifikansi (< 0,05) antara kontrol (-), kontrol (+), F1,F2,dan F3.Krimekstraketanoldaunrandumemberikanefekterbaikyaitu F3.

Abstract

Citronella (Cymbopogon citrates (DC.) Stapf) is one type of plant that has the potential to produce essential oils. In general, the content of citronella scented lemongrass can inhibit the growth of Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria. The research process was carried out using the disc diffusion method to obtain results from the comparison of the activity of antibacterial solid soap of citronella essential oil (Cymbopogon citrates (DC.) Stapf) against Stapylococcus aureus and Escherycia coli bacteria, with different soap concentrations, namely F0 transparent solid soap without substances. active citronella essential oil, F1 transparent solid soap with 1% citronella oil, F2 transparent solid soap with 1.5% citronella essential oil, F3 transparent solid soap with 2% citronella essential oil. The test method used is by diffusion discs tested for antibacterial activity of staphylococcus aureus and escherycia coli on citronella transparent solid soap. The results that can be tested for antibacterial activity are Staphylococcus aureus which has a very strong average zone of inhibition, while Escherycia coli has a strong average zone of inhibition as an anti-bacterial.

Abstract

Background: Solitary fibrous tumor / hemangiopericytoma (SFT / HPC) and fibroblastic types of meningioma have similarities that is difficult to distinguish based on histology. Immunohistochemistry of STAT6 and SSTR2A are definitive biomarkers in both tumors. Inversion-mediated fusions between two genes, NAB2 and STAT6, were detected in SFT / HPC that inducES proliferation in cells. The somatostatin receptor (SSTR) 2 is located on chromosome 17q25.1 which is expressed diffusely in meningiomas. Objective: This study aimed to determine the expression of STAT6 and SSTR2A in SFT/HPC and meningiomas. Methods: An analytical observational study with consecutive sampling on 64 samples diagnosed with SFT/HPC and meningioma. Samples divided into 3 groups, group 1 consisted of grade I meningoma, group 2 consisted of grade II and III meningioma and group 3 consisted of solitary fibrous tumor/Hemangiopericytoma (SFT/HPC). Results: Based on the Mann Withney comparative test, STAT6 expressions showed significant differences in group 1 and 3, as well as group 2 and 3 (P < 0.05). SSTR2A expressions in group 1 and 3, as well as group 2 and 3 also showed significant differences (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Immunohistochemistry of STAT6 and SSTR2A is strongly expressed in SFT/HPC and meningioma. Abstract

Background Ovarian serous carcinoma is a common ovarian epithelial malignancy, divided into low grade serous carcinoma (LGSC) and high grade serous carcinoma (HGSC). HGSC accounts for 60-80% of ovarian carcinomas and is the most aggressive type and has a poor prognosis. The literature has described various genetic mutations involved in the occurrence of HGSC, one of which is p53 and p16 mutations. Diagnostic and prognostic value of LGSC and HGSC related to its targeted therapy.Objective This study aimed to analyze the differences in the expression of p53 and p16 in LGSC and HGSC at anatomical pathology of laboratory dr. Kariadi Hospital.Methods : This study was an observational analytic study with a cross sectional design involving 65 patients with ovarian serous carcinoma diagnosed between January 2017 and December 2021. The data collected were age, LGSC and HGSC subtypes as well as p53 and p16 expressions were obseved by a pathologists and a resident. Compatibility between observers were tested using Kappa test. Data analysis used Chi square test and Fisher's exact test. Results This study included 65 patients aged between 30-68 years, consist of 50 patients with HGSC and 15 patients with LGSC (P <0,001). Kappa test results between two observers showed a score of k = 0,88. Conclusion There is a significant difference between the expression of p53 and p16 in HGSC, as the expression of p53 and p16 is much stronger and diffuse in high grade serous carcinoma compared to LGSC.

Abstract

Background: Hematology examination is one of the activities in the clinical laboratory. Hematological examination is hematocrit examination. At hematocrit inspection one of the important things in the pre-analytical stage is the homogenization of samples. The delay in the examination that occurs causes the blood to settle therefore it is necessary to do secondary homogenization before the blood is examined using the tool. This study aims to see a difference in the results of hematocrit levels in samples that are not homogenized secondary and homogenized secondary 8 times. Method: This type of research is a pre-experiment using Static Group Comparation. The subject of this study was students of the Faculty of Health Sciences of Musi Charitas Catholic University who were selected in acidental sampling. The hematocrit level check in the sample uses the Sysmex XP-100 tool by using the Apature Impedance Counters method. . Samples were treated without secondary homogenization and homogenized 8 times. The sample measurement data was then tested using the Wilcoxon Sign Rank test with a 95% confidence level.Result: The sample examined as many as 30 samples had an average hematocrit level test result in samples given unhomogenized treatment was 65% and the average result of secondary homogenized sample examination was 8 times 39.9%. The results were statistically tested and showed a meaningful difference of p=0.000<0.05.Conclusion: There were differences in the results of hematocrit levels of samples that were not homogenized secondary and homogenized secondary 8 times.

Abstract

Flavonoid compounds can act as antioxidants that can play o role in skin ejuvenation as contained in Daun sirih merah (Piper crocatum Ruiz & Pav) which is formulated in the form of body scrub cream. A good cream can be seen from the stability of the physical properties of the emulsion. Good emulsifier properties are able to form a stable oil-in-water (O/W) emulsion composition. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine which concentration of the formulation was the most stable of the variations in the concentration of the Span-Tween 80 emulsifier in the body scrub cream formulation of the ethanol extract of Daun sirih merah (Piper crocatum Ruiz & Pav). Extraction method uses the maceration method with 96% ethanol as solvent. Body scrub cream preparations from the daun sirih merah (Piper crocatum Ruiz & Pav) extract were made in three variations of the concentration of emulsifier span-tween 80, namely: 1%, 3%, 5% and then evaluated physically and chemically including organoleptic tests, homogeneity tests, pH tests, viscosity tests, power tests. stickiness test, daun sirih merah (Piper crocatum Ruiz & Pav) spreadability test, cream type test, hedonic test and irritation test. The results showed that from the evaluation results of the three variations in the concentration of emulsifier span-tween 80 1%, 3%, 5%, the best red betel leaf ethanol extract body scrub cream was formula 3 with a span-tween concentration of 80 5% which met all the requirements. to the stability verygood of the body scrub cream.

Abstract

Elevated levels of Low-Density Lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol can cause plaque on artery walls and be a contributing factor to myocardial infarction. The purpose of this study was to find out the effect of giving water decoction combination of golden berry leaves (Physalis angulate L.) and bay leaves (Syzygium polyanthum) against LDL levels of white rats (Rattus norvegicus) that have induced High-Fat Diet (HFD) and propylthiouracil (PTU). This experimental research study used the pretest-posttest method with a control group design. Use a simple random sampling method with 30 rats. Rats were divided into six treatment groups. Group A was the normal control group, group B was the negative control group, group C combination was 1:1, group D combination was 1:2, group E was 2:1, and group F was the positive control group, treated with simvastatin. LDL cholesterol levels were measured using a spectrophotometer at λ 546 nm. The data will be processed using the One-way ANOVA test followed by Duncan's Post hoc test. There is a significant difference between groups B, C, D, E, and F given HFD and PTU to normal group A. There was a significant reduction in LDL levels in groups C, D, E, and F. The optimal dose of a combination of golden berry leaves and bay leaves that can be given is by a ratio of 1:1 (160mg/200gBB: 720mg/200gBB). The group was given boiled water a combination of golden berry leaves and bay leaves had the effect of lowering LDL levels better than simvastatin. The provision of boiled water a combination of golden berry leaves and bay leaves can lower the LDL levels of male white rats given HFD and PTU. Abstract

Diabetes adalah gangguan metabolisme yang heterogen dan kompleks yang ditandai dengan peningkatan kadar glukosa darah karena resistensi terhadap aksi insulin, sekresi insulin yang tidak memadai, atau keduanya. Resistensi insulin merupakan salah satu penyebab utama pada DMT2. Resistensi insulin dapat disebabkan oleh faktor prereseptor, reseptor, dan postreseptor. Masalah pada kerja reseptor dan pascareseptor insulin biasanya disebabkan oleh obesitas atau kelainan yang menyebabkan sekresi berlebihan dari hormon diabetogenik atau hormon antagonis insulin (yaitu, glukagon, epinefrin, kortisol, hormon pertumbuhan, progesteron, atau hormon tiroid). Tujuan literatur review ini adalah untuk mereview literatur terkait mekanisme aksi kuersetin dan  sensitizer insulin dalam meningkatkan sesnsitivitas insulin. Dalam literatur review ini, penulis menggunakan artikel yang bersumber dari electronic data base seperti google scholar dan pubmed dengan kata kunci kuersetin, pioglitazon, metformin dan sensitivitas insulin, dalam kurun waktu 2013 – 2022. Data yang telah didapatkan, ditelaah, dibandingkan, disusun secara sistematis dan dibahas. Dari beberapa sumber yang telah didapatkan menyebutkan bahwa kuersetin mempunyai mekanisme aksi yang sama dengan sensitizer insulin dalam memperbaiki sensitivitas insulin
