Abstract

Stress impacts the physical well-being of final-year students health, particularly in terms of sleep patterns that affect sleep quality. This study aims to determine the relationship between stress levels and sleep quality among final-year students health at Sari Mulia University, Banjarmasin. Sampel in this study was 162 final year students health dengan simple random sampling technique. The study employed a descriptive correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. Data analysis was using Spearman Rho. The study findings revealed that 67 respondents (41.4%) experienced moderate stress, 50 respondents (30.9%) experienced mild stress, and 45 respondents (27.8%) experienced severe stress. Poor sleep quality was 104 respondents (64.2%), while good sleep quality was reported by 58 respondents (35.8%). The Spearman's Rho analysis showed a significant relationship between stress levels and sleep quality, with a strong correlation (p-value 0.000 <0.05, correlation coefficient 0.646). Abstract

Mistakes made when administering intravenous drugs to patients can jeopardize their safety. According to the PMKP report, there were three cases of medication administration errors in one private hospital in Banjarmasin City in 2018, four cases in 2019, two cases in 2020, and one in 2021. This study aimed to see how nurses' characteristics and career paths affect the application of the six correct principles of intravenous drug administration. This study was conducted using a cross-sectional research model. Thirty-five samples were taken through simple and cluster random sampling techniques. Observation sheets were used to collect data. For multivariate data analysis, frequency distribution and multiple linear regression were used. The results showed that nurses applied the six correct principles of intravenous drug administration in the excellent category as many as 23 respondents (65.7%), and the results of multiple linear regression tests obtained the results of a significant influence between career level variables on the application of the six correct principles of intravenous drug administration with a p-value of 0.033 (>0.05). This p-value indicates that the relationship between career level and applying the six correct principles of intravenous drug administration is statistically significant. At the same time, there was no significant influence between nurse characteristics, including age variables, gender, and education level, where the p-value successively on the age variable was 9.437, 0.605, 0.742, where the value was >0.05. The modeling results on each variable, namely career level and nurse characteristics, were simultaneously influenced by 0.481 (48%) in applying the six correct principles of intravenous drug administration. This means that career level and nurse characteristics explain 48% of the variation in applying these principles. Nurses have a graded career path from PK I to PK V, with higher levels of experience and knowledge that contribute to the application of nursing care. Nurses are also expected to have various characteristics that enable them to carry out and cooperate in the implementation of the six correct principles of intravenous drug administration, especially double-checking, asking for allergies to drugs, patient complaints before and after drug administration, checking drug expiration dates, patient identity, recording patient complaints, and patient reasons for refusing drugs. Keywords: career path, nurse characteristics, application of the six correct principles of intravenous drug administration

Abstract

Hypertension is a non-communicable disease known as the silent killer and is the leading cause of death worldwide. The aim is to determine the effect of a specific type of peer group support, such as educational sessions or emotional support, on self-care management in hypertension sufferers. The research method uses a pre-experiment with one group pretest-posttest design. The sample uses purposive sampling, where samples that meet the inclusion criteria will be measured for their level of self-care management before and after the intervention. The research data were tested for normality, and then a paired sample t-test was conducted to determine the difference in the level of self-care management before and after the peer group support intervention was given. The results of the study explained that before the peer group support intervention, the level of self-care management of respondents was sufficient 18 (60%), lacking 6 (20%) and good 6 (20%) with the lowest value of self-care management of respondents 58 and the highest value of respondents 153. After the peer group support intervention, respondents' self-care management level increased to good 16 (53.3%) and sufficient 14 (46.7%), with the lowest value of self-care management of respondents 83 and the highest value of respondents 156. Peer group support, in the form of a specific type of support, affects the self-care management of hypertension sufferers. Research instruments Diabetes Self-management questionnaire and Self-wound care questionnaire. The results of this study indicate that most respondents (73.7%) have good Diabetes Self-management and most respondents (73.7%) have good Self-wound care. The results of Spearman's rho statistical test obtained a p-value: of 0.000 <0.05 which means that there is a relationship between Diabetes Self-management and Self-wound care ability in patients with gangrene wounds. Correlation value 0.729, the direction of the relationship is positive, meaning that the strength of the relationship is close to perfect. The ability to improve dietary control and compliance to routinely check blood sugar levels can improve diabetes self-management and improve self-wound care skills. Abstract

Acute Respiratory Tract Infection (ARI) is the leading cause of morbidity among children under five in developing countries, including Indonesia. The high incidence of ARI in children under five is influenced by factors such as knowledge, age, occupation, and maternal behavior related to ARI. Maternal knowledge is expected to influence ARI prevention behavior in toddlers. This descriptive quantitative study involves 88 respondents, with a total sampling. The results showed that the majority of mothers in Dorume Village had poor knowledge (62%) and poor behavior (66%) related to ARI prevention in children under five. Only about 38% of mothers had good knowledge, while good behavior was seen in 34% of respondents. In conclusion, mothers in Dorume Village tend to have inadequate knowledge and behavior in preventing ARI in children under five. There is a need for counseling and education efforts to improve mothers' knowledge and behavior related to children's health, especially in preventing ARI. Keywords: Knowledge, Behavior, ARI

Abstract

One of the factors that affect a person's mental health is the presence of stigma or adverse judgment. People who may often face stigma are those with HIV/AIDS (PLHIVA), COVID-19 survivors, and health workers caring for COVID-19 patients. Stigma is divided into enacted stigma and internalized stigma related to beliefs, behaviors, and actions. Overcoming stigma may be done by increasing knowledge using technology in this digital era. The researcher developed an application named "Feel It, Share Your Feeling" for the community, especially for people living with HIV/AIDS, COVID-19 survivors, and health workers caring for COVID-19 patients who are experiencing stigma. The study used a quasi-experimental method with randomized pretest-posttest designs, involving 60 respondents divided into intervention and control groups. The pre and post-intervention data were measured in both groups using The Multidimensional Measure of Internalized HIV Stigma. The data was analyzed using Wilcoxon Signed-Ranks and Mann-Whitney tests. Over a month, the intervention group showed a reduction in internal stigma, with 73.33% reporting lower stigma levels after using the Feel It, Share Your Feeling application. The Wilcoxon test results showed a computed p-value of 0.005, and the Mann-Whitney test results also indicated a p-value of 0.005. The use of the Feel It, Share Your Feeling application was found to lower internal stigma and provide accessible therapies for people living with HIV/AIDS, COVID-19 survivors, and health workers caring for COVID-19 patients.
