Abstract

This paper examines the interactions among science, religion, and power across historical and social contexts. Science is defined as a systematic effort to build knowledge through testable explanations and predictions, while religion is a system that connects humans with supernatural and transcendental elements. Power, in this context, is understood as a social production that shapes actors' capacities, actions, and beliefs. The paper outlines a crisis of thinking and literacy among scientists, religious scholars, and politicians, who often fail to understand or disregard the relevance of other fields. Various types of relationships between power and both science and religion are described, including power that protects, suppresses, restricts, utilizes, or mediates between the two domains. Additionally, the paper discusses how religion and science can influence or even conflict with each other. Historical examples of the complex interactions between science, religion, and power are provided, showing that harmony among them can lead to progress, while imbalance can result in regression. In conclusion, Muslims need to understand and appropriately position science, religion, and power to avoid secular extremism and ensure balanced development in society.

Abstract

Indonesia has demonstrated significant potential for zakat collection. Consequently, various organizations have been established to manage zakat, including Zakat Management Organizations. The National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS), as an entity responsible for managing and distributing zakat to those in need, must implement accounting practices in its daily records. This ensures the production of transparent, balanced, and equitable information for stakeholders. Zakat accounting is a reporting standard that provides financial information on the management of zakat by zakat institutions, specifically through the implementation of PSAK 109 on Zakat, Infaq, and Sadaqah Accounting. This study aims to examine the conditions of receipt, distribution, and accounting reporting at BAZNAS Subang Regency as reflected in the financial statements. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method to explore activities and uncover new knowledge previously unknown objectively. This is based on primary and secondary data obtained through observation and interviews. The analysis results indicate that BAZNAS Subang Regency has overall adhered to PSAK 109 on Zakat, Infaq, and Sadaqah Accounting in its financial statements and has implemented the SIMBA (BAZNAS Information Management System) application.

Abstract

This research explores the dynamics of transnational solidarity among Indonesian Muslims in their support of the Palestine cause, grounded in Fatwa MUI 83/2023, through the lens of Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA). This study investigates how religious and moral directives shape individual and collective actions. Data from questionnaires show that respondents' motivations to support Palestine stem from both humanitarian and religious convictions, amplified by the fatwa's ideological framework. The study finds that religious discourse transforms solidarity into concrete actions such as donations, boycotts, and digital activism. Furthermore, the fatwa facilitates the globalization of local actions, linking grassroots efforts to a broader international campaign for Palestinian rights. This research underscores the power of religious authority in shaping transnational solidarity movements and highlights how digital platforms enable local actions to resonate globally.

Abstract

By 2022, the ranking of Indonesian students' science literacy skills will improve from 70th to 64th, but the latest score is lower than before. In this research, the researchers use a mixed-methods embedded design. This study aims to describe the implementation and improvement of science and creative thinking skills in students following the introduction of a solar cell project in STEM learning using copper tape solar cells. The research sample consists of 40 junior high school students from a single experimental group. The data collection instruments include a pretest and a posttest to measure science literacy and creative thinking skills, as well as assessment rubrics to evaluate students' creativity. Implementing STEM copper tape-solar cell learning can improve students' science literacy skills, with an average n-gain of 0.4 in the medium category. Implementing STEM copper tape-solar cell learning can improve students' creative thinking skills, with an average n-gain of 0.5 in the medium category. Based on the MANOVA test, the provision of the STEM copper tape solar cell learning model as a whole can have a significant effect on science literacy, increased science literacy, creative thinking, and improved thinking.

Abstract

Julid Fi Sabilillah emerged as a response to the massive genocide by Israel that began on October 7, 2023. This research aims to unveil the phenomenon of Julid Fi Sabilillah on Instagram using a critical discourse analysis approach and to explain its role and influence regarding the genocide committed by Israel against Palestine. The methodology employed in this study is qualitative, utilizing Norman Fairclough's critical discourse analysis model. The findings indicate that the phenomenon of Julid Fi Sabilillah on Instagram represents an effort by pro-Palestinian Indonesian citizens to resist Israel, triggered by the genocide that started on October 7, 2023. This is manifested through comments and posts laden with protests against Israel and calls for public participation. Julid Fi Sabilillah plays a role in undermining the morale of IDF (Israel Defense Forces) soldiers and countering their propaganda on social media, causing stress and disruption that leads them to lock and limit their Instagram accounts.

Abstract

A mangrove forest is an ecosystem found along tropical coastlines. Indonesia has the largest mangrove land cover in the world, so it is essential to manage them, as they can provide ecological benefits to the environment and support the welfare of coastal communities through economic and social benefits. This review aimed to explore practical and Islamic perspectives on the sustainable management of mangrove forests. Sustainable management of mangrove forests, incorporating both practical strategies and Islamic principles, can enhance their role in climate change mitigation and adaptation. The sustainable management of mangrove forests in Indonesia requires a holistic approach that integrates practical measures with ethical and religious principles. By combining scientific knowledge, community engagement, and Islamic values, it is possible to create a framework for the sustainable use and preservation of these vital ecosystems. Practically, it highlights the importance of conservation, reforestation, integrated coastal zone management, and community involvement. Islam, as a religion, provides guiding principles and systems that enable problem-solving, including the management of natural resources like mangrove forests. According to Islamic law, forests are part of public property. The state or authority must responsibly manage this public property. The wealth and benefits must be shared for the welfare of the people. On the other hand, it is unlawful to damage and exploit forest resources without careful consideration of the impacts on nature and humans. These strategies not only enhance mangrove protection for carbon storage but also bolster community resilience against climate impacts. This approach not only protects the environment but also enhances the well-being of the communities that depend on mangrove forests for their livelihoods.

Abstract

Bone fractures are rising worldwide due to aging populations and increased trauma, creating demand for implants that overcome infection, delayed healing, and poor osteointegration. Multifunctional biomaterials, especially PLA–HA Bioxcrew systems, offer integrated mechanical support with antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and osteogenic functions while remaining biocompatible. Implant-associated infections driven by Staphylococcus aureus and Gram-negative bacteria persist because of biofilm formation and chronic inflammation. Bioxcrew advancements address these barriers through metal-ion doping, nanoscale surface engineering, and incorporation of antimicrobial agents into biodegradable polymer matrices, enabling controlled ion release, immune modulation, stem-cell recruitment, and improved bone regeneration. Stainless steel provides strength, hydroxyapatite enhances biological integration, and PLA enables safe degradation and localized drug delivery, making their hybridization ideal for next-generation implants. Using a narrative–integrative review of peer-reviewed literature from 2018 to 2025, this study synthesizes trends in antibacterial strategies and regenerative performance. Findings show that hybrid Bioxcrew platforms significantly reduce infection risk and enhance functional bone healing.
