Abstract

This research started from the low mathematical ability of students, namely the ability to understand mathematical concepts. This can be seen in the daily scores of the fifth grade students of MIS Nurul Ijitihad, Lubuk Gaung Village, Merangin Regency which is under the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM), so that mathematics learning has not been running as expected. This study aims to describe the process of improving students' mathematical concept understanding skills through the Realistic Mathematical Education approach to fifth grade students of Madrasah Nurul Ijtihad Swasta, Lubuk Gaung Village, Kab. Merangin. The research subjects were students of Madrasah Nurul Ijtihad Private, Lubuk Gaung Village, Kab. Merangin which amounted to 19 people. The type of research used is classroom action research. This research uses a qualitative approach which is supported by a quantitative approach. Qualitative data obtained through observation of student activities.Quantitative data was obtained through a test of the ability to understand mathematical concepts which was carried out at the end of each lesson in cycle I and cycle II. Quantitative data analysis technique with percentage formula. The data obtained are presented in tabular form. The results show that the Realistic Mathematical Education approach can improve the ability to understand mathematical concepts of fifth grade students of Madrasah Nurul Ijtihad Swasta, Lubuk Gaung Village, Kab. Merangin. This increase can be seen from the average test results of students' mathematical concept understanding ability in cycle I and cycle II. In the first cycle, the average value of the students' mathematical concept understanding ability test was 69.16 in the sufficient category. In the second cycle the average test score of 82.63 students was categorized as very good. The percentage increase in the average score of students from the first cycle is 13.47%

Abstract

The goal of this research is to develop LKPD on based problem-based learning on the subject of social arithmetic for class VII SMP Negeri Satu Atap 20 Merangin which are valid, practical, and effective. This form of research is known as Research and Development (R&D) and it follows a 4-D model has four stages, namely define, design, development, and disseminate. The validation sheet completed by five validators demonstrates validity. Practicality can be viewed from the practicality questionnaire and interviews with students. While learning activities and student learning outcomes are used to determine the effectiveness. The results viewed that the average score of the material expert validation results was 4.55, linguist validation was 4.50, and media expert validation was 5.00. The overall validation score was 4.68 has a very valid category. Student response questionnaires gained a percentage of 80.46% has a practical category. Students' learning activities get an average of 75.11% has a active category and the percentage of classical learning outcomes is 82.35% has a effective category. Based on the research results, LKPD on based problem-based learning are valid, practical, and effective

Abstract

Understanding of students' mathematical concepts is still relatively low, this is known from the results of the initial test which showed that none of the students had completed. This can be seen from the motivation of students in participating in mathematics learning, students are less motivated to learn mathematics, cheat friends, and do not work on problems seriously. This research uses a quantitative approach with correlation methods. Data collection techniques in this study were questionnaires and tests. The analytical technique used to test the hypothesis is Pearson product moment correlation. To test the significance using t-test. Based on the results of data analysis, it shows that Fcount > Ftable or 53.3452 > 2.796, then H0 is rejected, meaning that there is a significant influence between learning motivation on understanding mathematical concepts of eighth grade students of SMP N 21 Merangin in the 2021/2022 academic year. Learning motivation contributes to the understanding of mathematical concepts by 69.72% while the remaining 30.28% is influenced by other factors

Abstract

One of the problems that occur in the world of education is the lack of teaching materials that can help students understand subject matter focusing on concepts. The method that can be used is mind mapping. Mind mapping can make students develop mathematical creative thinking skills. This study aims to produce mind mapping based LKPD teaching materials for mathematical creative thinking skills. Using the Research and Development development method with the 4-D model. This mind mapping based LKPD was validated by 5 validators with a validity score of 4.47 which was categorized as very valid. practicality is obtained from the results of a questionnaire with a score of 92.25%. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the LKPD based on mind mapping on the ability to think creative mathematically on the material of equations and linear inequalities of one variable developed was very valid and very practical

Abstract

Learning style is one of the factors that influence learning outcomes. In this case it can be seen from the learning styles of students who take part in mathematics learning, when the teacher explains the lesson, many students' behavior shows different learning styles, there are students who pay attention, there are students who are busy taking notes, and there are students who like to chat with friends. seat without paying attention to the teacher's explanation. The purpose of this study was to determine and describe the significant influence between learning styles on mathematics learning outcomes. This study uses a quantitative approach with the method used is correlation. The population and sample in this study were all seventgrade students of SMP N 14 Sarolangun in the 2020/2021 academic year with a total of 50 students. The sampling technique in this research is total sampling. Data for learning style variables were obtained by distributing student learning style questionnaires. While the learning outcomes obtained from mathematics subject teachers. The data analysis technique used to test the hypothesis is the person product moment correlation, to test the significance using the Z-test, followed by the coefficient of determination formula to state the size of the contribution of the X variable to the Y variable. Then, a simple linear regression test and a regression significance test were carried out. Based on data analysis shows that ≥ or 74.273 > 0.279 then is rejected and is accepted, meaning that there is a significant influence between learning styles on mathematics learning outcomes for class VII SMP N 14 Sarolangun in the academic year 2020/2021, with a contribution of 60,684% and the remaining 39,316 % influenced by other factors

Abstract

This study aims to describe mathematical problem solving skills using the Discovery Learning method which is better than conventional learning on algebraic material for class VIII SMP N 43 Merangin Academic Year 2020/2021. Sampling using simple random sampling. The data analysis technique used to test the hypothesis is the t-test. From the analysis of the final test data in the experimental class obtained an average of 50.25 while the control class obtained an average of 34.248. The results of hypothesis testing are obtained, t count = 7,260 and t table = 1,685. Because t hitung > t tabel then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. The conclusion of this study is that the mathematical problem solving ability of class VIII SMP N 43 Merangin students using the Discovery Learning Method is better than the mathematical problem solving abilities of students taught by conventional learning in the 2020/2021 school year

Abstract

Target of this research is to yield worksheets based on invention guided at items Parallelogram and is Trilateral which practical and valid. This Research type is development and research. This research use model 4-D which consist of 4 phase that is: define, design, develop, and disseminate. Worksheets based on invention guided by validity by five expert people that is mathematician, media and Indonesian language, and also learn class mathematics study. Practical seen from result of enquette sheet of practicalities and interview with student. Result of analysis at phase of validity indicate that worksheets based on invention guided which is yielded very valid. Result of enquette analysis of practicalities, and result interview with student indicate that worksheets based on invention guided which is yielded is practical. Pursuant to result of research obtained that worksheets based on invention guided by at parallelogram items and trilateral the developed have very valid and is practical.

Abstract

The background of this research was the lack of understanding of students in the learning process for general biology courses. Meanwhile, general biology learning requires the ability to think critically and understand the material concepts and problems given to students. The learning model used in the learning process for general biology courses has not previously used a learning model that can improve students' understanding. The research method used in this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). This study aims to improve students' understanding of the material concepts in general biology courses. The results of this study indicate that after the application of the PBL learning model there is an increase in students' understanding of the general biology course, namely in the Organism and Environment material or cycle I, an increase of 55%, and the homeostatic regulation system material in the second cycle, an increase of 90% of students have understood concept of the given material. So it can be concluded that the application of the PBL model can improve students' understanding of biology concepts in general biology courses

Abstract

This research model uses a 4-D model which consists of four stages, namely: the definition stage (Devine), the design stage (Design), the development stage (Develop) and the dissemination stage (Disseminate). LKPD which has been validated by five experts. Validity is seen from the results of the validation sheet, while practicality is seen from the practicality questionnaire sheet of student responses, while the effectiveness of learning outcomes and student learning activities. The results of the analysis at the validation stage showed that the average score of the validation results from the material experts was 4.33, the validation from the linguists was 4.60 and the validation from the media experts was 4.94, so the results of all validations obtained an averageof 4.62 with very valid criteria. The results of the practicality questionnaire analysis show that the practicality of scientific-based worksheets produced is practical with a percentage of 96.70% and the percentage of completeness of classical learning outcomes of 78.6%. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the LKPD developed was valid, practical, and effective

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the learning outcomes of mathematics using the active peer lessons learning model, which is better than the team quiz learning model. This study uses a quantitative approach with experimental research methods. The population of all students of class VIII SMP Negeri 51 Merangin, totaling 2 classes. Sampling using probability sampling type simple random sampling, selected class VIIIA as experimentalclass 1, and class VIIIB as experimental class 2. The technique of collecting data on mathematics learning outcomes used was a test. The instrument is in the form of essay questions, totaling 10 questions. The data analysis technique used the t-test formula, because the data were normally distributed and the variance was homogeneous. From the analysis of the test results, it is known that the average value of the experimental class 1 is 66.47, and the average value of the experimental class 2 is 63. Hypothesis test analysis using the t-test shows that the p value is 0.096 > 0.05, so H0 rejected. Ha is accepted. It can be concluded that the results of learning mathematics using the peer lessons learning model are better than the team quiz model for class VIII students of SMP N 51 Merangin.
