Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe mathematical communication skills using a cooperative learning model type two stay two stray better than conventional learning. The study used a quantitative approach with the experimental method. The study population was all students of class VII of SMP N 8 Sarolangun totaling three classes with samples of the VIIA class as the experimental class and VIIB class as the control class. The instruments used are test questions for essay mathematical communication skills. The results of the data analysis requirements show that the data of the two sample classes are normally distributed and have a non-homogeneous variance. Hypothesis testing uses the t-test formula. Based on the results of the analysis of research data shows that tcount is greater than t table or 6.576> 1.729 in the one-party test. Because tcount> t table then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, so it can be concluded that mathematical communication skills using cooperative learning models of type two stay two stray are better than conventional learning of class VII students of SMP N 8 Sarolangun.

Abstract

This study purfose to see how efforts to improve the ability of learning activities through academic supervision of six teachers of Public Elementary School No. 14 / II Rantau Embacang Market, Tanah Sepenggal District. This research is a field research that applies a qualitative descriptive approach. The procedures in this study are carried out in the form of four stages: planning, action, observation and reflection. The results showed that there was an increase in teacher behavior from cycle 1 to cycle 2. Furthermore, the results of the study showed an increase in evaluation through the APKG cycle 1 instrument with a value of 3, 33 (three point thirty three) to 3.56 (three point fifty six) in cycle 2.

Abstract

Science lessons require high creativity and motivation from students, so that motivation exists so that teachers need to assess the homework of students. This study aims to determine the Motivation of Students in Working on Homework at Science Subjects. This research is an experimental research. The study was conducted in two sample classes, each class numbering 24 students SDN 194/II Sungai Pinang and given different treatments. The research data was obtained from the final questionnaire. The results of the final questionnaire were analyzed using normal tests, homogeneity tests and Independent Sample T-tests. The results of the study showed the Sig (2-tailed) value of 0,000 < 0,05, so Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. Based on the results of the study it was concluded that there were differences in motivation between group A learning motivation and group B learning motivation.

Abstract

This study aims to describe mathematical communication skills in terms of emotional intelligence using Ligtening The Learning Climate learning strategies better than conventional learning. The research method used is the experimental method with a quantitative approach using a 2 x 3 factorial design with a population of class VIII students totaling 4 classes. The sampling technique uses Simple Random Sampling, selected class VIII C as the experimental class and class VIII B as the control class, and both classes are grouped based on their emotional intelligence. Data collection uses test techniques for mathematical communication ability variables and questionnaires for emotional intelligence. The results of data analysis showed that hypotheses 1, 3 and 4 obtained tcount > ttable, hypothesis 2 obtained tcount <ttable and hypothesis 5 obtained Fcount > Ftable, it can be concluded: overall student mathematical communication skills with moderate and low emotional intelligence using the Learning The Learning Climate learning strategy is better than conventional learning. Mathematical communication skills of students who have high emotional intelligence use Ligtening The Learning Climate learning strategy is not better or equal to conventional learning. There is an interaction between emotional intelligence and learning strategies in influencing mathematical communication skills.

Abstract

This study aims to find out and describe the significant effect of interest in learning on understanding mathematical concepts in the number theory course of STKIP YPM Bangko mathematics education college students. This type of research is a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The population of the study was the first semester college students of the 2018/2019 academic year mathematics education totaling 18 people. Sampling uses a saturated sampling technique. The data collection technique is a test of understanding mathematical concepts in number theory courses in the form of essay questions and learning interest questionnaires using a Likert scale. The data analysis technique uses the normality test and linearity test, while thehypothesis test uses the Pearson product moment correlation formula and the significance test using the t-test formula. The results of the analysis of sample class data obtained a correlation coefficient with a sig value = 0.952. While the contribution of the relationship between the variables of interest in learning and understanding of mathematical concepts are grouped very high at 90.630% and hypothesis testing obtained tcount = 12.404 at the significance level α = 0.05 with tcount > ttabel or 12.404 > 1.746 then Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. This means that there is a significant influence between interestin learning towards understanding mathematical concepts in the number theory course of STKIP YPM Bangko mathematics education college students.Keywords: Interest in Learning and Understanding of Mathematical Concepts.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the ability of mathematical representation using the learning model of the connected mathematic project better than conventional learning. The research method used is the experimental method with a quantitative approach using a posttest-only control design design with a population of class IX students totaling 3 classes. The sampling technique uses simple random sampling, selected class IX A as the experimental class and class IX B as the control class. Data collection uses test techniques with instruments in the form of problem descriptions. The results of data analysis show that the value of tcount > ttable means that the ability of mathematical representation using the connected mathematic project learning model is better than conventional learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan komunikasi matematis yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Co-o-Co-op ditinjau dari minat belajar tinggi, sedang, dan rendah lebih baik daripada pembelajaran konvensional. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan metode eksperimen dengan desain faktorial 2×3. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes uraian kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan angket minat belajar siswa. Analisis data menggunakan uji-t.  berdasarkan hasil analisis diperoleh bahawa kemampuan komunikasi matematis yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran  kooperatif tipe Co-o-Co-op lebih baik daripada pembelajaran konvensional. Jika ditnjau dari minat belajar siswa, kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dengan minat belajar sedang di kelas eksperimen lebih baik dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Sedangkan untuk minat belajr tinggi dan rendah baik di kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol kemampuan komunikasi matematis tidak sebih baik atau sama   untuk analisis data interaksi, diperoleh bahwa terdapat interaksi antara minat belajar siswa dan model pembelajaran dalam mempengaruhi kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the learning outcomes of SPSS Computer Application courses using blended learning models better than conventional learning. The study used a quantitative approach with the experimental method. The study population was all biology education study program students which numbered two classes with sample B as the experimental class and class A as the control class. The instruments used are the learning outcomes test questions in the form of descriptions. The results of data analysis requirements indicate that the data of the two sample classes are not normally distributed and have a homogeneous variance. Hypothesis testing uses two-independent formula samples with U-test (Mann Whitney). Based on the results of the analysis of research data shows that Sig. smaller than α or 0.007 <0.05 in the one-party test. Because Sig. <α then Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted, so it can be concluded that the learning outcomes of SPSS Computer Application courses using the blended learning model are better than conventional learning of biology education study program students.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan hasil belajar matematika pada materi bangun  ruang sisi datar dengan menggunakan Model Pembelajaran Missouri Mathematic Project pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 14 Merangin Tahun Pelajaran 2018/2019. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang pelaksanaannya terdiri dari empat tahapan, yaitu perencanaan, tindakan, observasi dan refleksi yang dilaksanakan di SMP N 14 Merangin dengan subyek penelitian adalah semua siswa kelas VIII D  SMP N 14 Merangin Tahun Pelajaran 2018/2019 yang berjumlah 28 orang. Penelitian dilakukan II siklus, Setiap siklus terdiri dari III pertemuan. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan observasi dan evaluasi, observasi berupa lembar aktifitas siswa, untuk evaluasi tes hasil belajar berupa soal tes bentuk essay. Teknik analisis data menggunakan statistik sederhana. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Model Pembelajaran Missouri Mathematic Project dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dan nilai rata-rata siswa 68,83 pada siklus I menjadi 88,36 pada siklus II. Peningkatan ketuntasan belajar siswa pada siklus I yaitu 14 orang siswa atau 50% meningkat pada siklus II menjadi 26 orang siswa atau 88,7%. Dengan demikian ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa telah mencapai lebih dari  ≥ 70,00. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat digunakan guru untuk menambah model-model dalam pembelajaran sehingga dapat meningkatkan kemampuan peserta didik dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

This study aims to describe mathematical communication skills taught with the Somatic Auditori Visual and Intellectual (SAVI) learning model better than conventional learning as a whole and based on auditory, visual, and intellectual learning styles. This study uses a quantitative approach and an experimental method with a 2 × 3 factorial design. Determination of samples using simple random sampling technique. Data collection techniques were carried out with test instruments in the form of description questions and mathematics learning style questionnaires. Data analysis techniques used are different tests (t-test) and two-way ANOVA. The results showed that: (1) mathematical communication skills taught with SAVI learning models were better than conventional learning, (2) students' mathematical communication skills with auditory, visual, and intellectually learning styles taught with SAVI learning models were better than conventional learning , and (3) there is an interaction between the SAVI learning model and conventional learning in terms of learning styles in influencing mathematical communication skills.
