Abstract

This study aims to describe mathematical communication skills taught with the Somatic Auditori Visual and Intellectual (SAVI) learning model better than conventional learning as a whole and based on auditory, visual, and intellectual learning styles. This study uses a quantitative approach and an experimental method with a 2 × 3 factorial design. Determination of samples using simple random sampling technique. Data collection techniques were carried out with test instruments in the form of description questions and mathematics learning style questionnaires. Data analysis techniques used are different tests (t-test) and two-way ANOVA. The results showed that: (1) mathematical communication skills taught with SAVI learning models were better than conventional learning, (2) students' mathematical communication skills with auditory, visual, and intellectually learning styles taught with SAVI learning models were better than conventional learning , and (3) there is an interaction between the SAVI learning model and conventional learning in terms of learning styles in influencing mathematical communication skills. Abstract

This study aims to describe mathematical communication skills in terms of emotional intelligence using Ligtening The Learning Climate learning strategies better than conventional learning. The research method used is the experimental method with a quantitative approach using a 2 x 3 factorial design with a population of class VIII students totaling 4 classes. The sampling technique uses Simple Random Sampling, selected class VIII C as the experimental class and class VIII B as the control class, and both classes are grouped based on their emotional intelligence. Data collection uses test techniques for mathematical communication ability variables and questionnaires for emotional intelligence. The results of data analysis showed that hypotheses 1, 3 and 4 obtained tcount > ttable, hypothesis 2 obtained tcount <ttable and hypothesis 5 obtained Fcount > Ftable, it can be concluded: overall student mathematical communication skills with moderate and low emotional intelligence using the Learning The Learning Climate learning strategy is better than conventional learning. Mathematical communication skills of students who have high emotional intelligence use Ligtening The Learning Climate learning strategy is not better or equal to conventional learning. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe an increase in mathematics learning outcomes in the material building of flat-side space using the Missouri Mathematic Project Learning Model in class VIII of SMP Negeri 14 Merangin Academic Year 2018/2019. This research is a classroom action research which consists of four stages, namely planning, action, observation and reflection carried out in SMP N 14 Merangin with the research subjects are all students of class VIII D SMP N 14 Merangin Academic Year 2018/2019, amounting to 28 people . The study was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of III meetings. Data is collected using observation and evaluation, observations in the form of student activity sheets, for evaluation of learning outcomes tests in the form of essay form test questions. Data analysis techniques use simple statistics. The results of the study show that the Missouri Mathematic Project Learning Model can improve student learning outcomes and the average value of students 68.83 in the first cycle to 88.36 in the second cycle. Increased student mastery learning in the first cycle is 14 students or 50% increased in the second cycle to 26 students or 88.7%. Thus the completeness of student learning outcomes has reached more than ≥ 70.00. Based on the results of this study, it is expected that teachers can be used to add models in learning so as to improve the ability of students in learning. Abstract

The activities of study proces is the main activity in the lecture. The success of the lectures will be achieved if active learning activities. Active learning activities require students actively involved in learning. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to increase the activ ity of students and student's understanding of mathematics on basic chemistry courses through the application of problem based learning. The subjects of these studies amounted to 16 people. The data in this study was obtained by observation and tests. The results of this study indicate that the application of problem based learning can increase activity of students of 27.6%, of the criteria enough active being active. Understanding of students on the basic chemical courses also increased by 41%, from 44 percentage of learning completeness 41 % to 85%. Abstract

This study aims to find out and describe the significant effect of interest in learning on understanding mathematical concepts in the number theory course of STKIP YPM Bangko mathematics education college students. This type of research is a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The population of the study was the first semester college students of the 2018/2019 academic year mathematics education totaling 18 people. Sampling uses a saturated sampling technique. The data collection technique is a test of understanding mathematical concepts in number theory courses in the form of essay questions and learning interest questionnaires using a Likert scale. The data analysis technique uses the normality test and linearity test, while the hypothesis test uses the Pearson product moment correlation formula and the significance test using the t-test formula. The results of the analysis of sample class data obtained a correlation coefficient with a sig value = 0.952. While the contribution of the relationship between the variables of interest in learning and understanding of mathematical concepts are grouped very high at 90.630% and hypothesis testing obtained tcount = 12.404 at the significance level α = 0.05 with tcount > ttabel or 12.404 > 1.746 then Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. This means that there is a significant influence between interestin learning towards understanding mathematical concepts in the number theory course of STKIP YPM Bangko mathematics education college students. Abstract

This research is motivated by students' low mathematical communication skills. Students have difficulty in solving questions related to mathematical communication. One reason is learning that only uses conventional learning models, so students' creativity and activity are still less visible. The purpose of this study was to find out and describe mathematical communication skills taught by problem based learning learning methods better than those taught with conventional learning models with expository methods. This type of research is a Quantitative Approach with quasi experimental methods. The sample of the study amounted to 67 students, 33 students in the experimental class and 34 students in the control class obtained by the Simple Random Sampling technique. The technique of collecting data through a test of mathematical communication skills in the form of a description sheet (Essay) consisting of 8 questions. The data analysis technique uses the t-test. The results revealed that the results of the average experimental class score were higher than the results of the average score of the mathematical communication skills of the control class students. Thus the problem based learning learning method influences students' mathematical communication skills ( . The conclusion of this study is that mathematical communication skills of students who use problem based learning learning methods are better than students' mathematical communication skills using conventional learning, meaning learning methods of problem based learning provide an influence on mathematical communication skills. Abstract

Mathematics plays an important role in human life, so it requires an understanding of the mathematical concepts that are good for mathematical material. But in reality, students' understanding of mathematical concepts is still quite low. Based on the learning outcomes obtained by students there are still many who are below the minimum completeness criteria (KKM). Therefore, to overcome the existing problems, the probing-prompting learning model is used which will be able to improve the understanding of the mathematical concepts of class VIII students of SMP N 46 Merangin. The research method used was PTK. Subjects in the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 46 Merangin 2014/2015 academic year were 19 students. Data is collected using technical written tests and observations of students during the learning process. Based on the results of the study, it was found that understanding the mathematical concepts of students experienced a fairly good improvement compared to before. This can be seen from the learning outcomes obtained by students each cycle. The average learning outcomes obtained by students are: cycle I of 62.37 with the number of students completed 4 people. Increased in cycle II to 78.95 with a total of 13 students completed. in the third cycle student learning outcomes increased to 14 people with an average value of 84.47. Abstract

This study aims to find out and describe the mathematical critical thinking abilities of students taught using the Aptitude learning model. Treatment Interaction is better than using conventional learning in class VIII students of SMP N 15 Sarolangun in the 2015/2016 school year. This study uses a quantitative approach to the experimental method with the posttest Only control group design research design. The population used in this study were students of class VIII A totaling 25 students, class VIII B which amounted to 25 students and class VIII C which amounted to 24 students, where this study was in Sarolangun Middle School 15 15 2015/2016 academic year. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling technique. Data collection techniques in the study used a descriptive test of mathematical critical thinking skills which amounted to 5 items. Data analysis in hypothesis testing using t-test to see where this hypothesis reads hypothesis ift> ttable so Ha is received and H0 is rejected with significance level of 0.05. From the analysis of the latest data in the experimental class obtained an average value of 69.12 while the control class obtained an average of 59.16. Then analyzed using the t-test, the results of hypothesis testing obtained tcount = 2,341 and ttable 1,677. Because tcount > ttable then H0 isrejected and Ha is accepted. So that it can describe the students' critical thinking skills mathematically taught with Aptitude learning model Treatment Interaction is better than those taught with conventional learning class VIII students of SMP Negeri 15 Sarolangun in 2015 2016 Keywords: Aptitude Treatment Interaction, Mathematical Critical Thinking.

Abstract

This study aims to describe mathematical problem solving abilities in terms of the initial ability to use cooperative learning models Teams Game Tournament type is better than learning. Quantitative research with experimental methods. The research design is a 2 x 3 factorial design with a population of 8 classes. The sampling technique uses Simple Random Sampling, grouped based on initial abilities. The technique of collecting data through tests in the form of essay questions. Based on the results of testing the data analysis prerequisites, it is known that the data are normally distributed and homogeneous variance, the data analysis techniques used are t-test and two-way anova. From the data analysis it can be concluded that students who are taught with the cooperative TGT model as a whole and students with early abilities are better than conventional learning, while students with high and low initial abilities are no more than conventional learning, and there are interactions between learning models and initial abilities affecting problem solving skill. Abstract

Based on the results of the initial test it is known that understanding concepts and mathematical problem solving abilities of students is still low. This can be seen from three indicators of understanding concepts and mathematical problem solving abilities that are not achieved by students. One reason is that teachers only use conventional learning. This study aims to find out and describe the understanding of concepts and mathematical problem solving abilities taught with cooperative learning model group investigation type better than those taught with conventional learning class VIII students of SMP Negeri 12 Merangin 2017/2018 Academic Year. Based on the results of test data analysis the understanding of mathematical concepts is obtained, = greater than = 1.675. then analysis of test data obtained by mathematical problem solving abilities = greater than = 1,675 then rejected. From these results it can be concluded that the understanding of concepts and mathematical problem solving abilities taught by cooperative learning model group investigation type is better than conventional learning of class VIII SMP Negeri 12 Meragin 2017/2018 Academic Year.
