Abstract

Families of patients who are in the hospital have an important role in preventing nosocomial infections by increasing the knowledge and attitude of hand washing in hospitals by increasing their knowledge and attitude of eating will also increase the ability to wash hands. However, the implementation of hand washing in the patient's family has not run optimally due to various reasons. The patient's family said that they did not know how to wash their hands properly and some said that they did not wash their hands because the patient's disease was not contagious.this study aims to determine the relationship of hand washing education to knowledge, attitudes and abilities of family members in the X Palembang Hospital.Method: This research is a quantitative type of research using quasi experimental with a Non Equavalent Control Group plan and a sample of 112 respondents used purposive sampling technique. The data analysis technique used is the Fisher Exact. The results of this study indicate that there is a relationship between hand washing education to the knowledge, attitudes, ability, of the families of patients at X Palembang Hospital (p value= 0.001<0.005), For this reason, the role of nurses as educators is needed, providing counseling to families of patients treated at Hospital so that nosocomial infections can be prevented. Keywords: Knowledge, Attitude, Ability, Hand Washing

Abstract

Diabetes melitus (DM) is a chronic disease that requires self-care. The main problem of health care in Indonesia is the lack of optimalization on the culture of patient self-care. One program that aims to facilitate knowledge and skills for diabetes patients is self-care Diabetes Self Management Education (DSME), that based on independent nursing theory by Orem "Self-Care". This study aimed to determine the effect of knowledge post diabetes self management education (DSME) implementation to self-care on patient diabetes melitus. The study utilized quantitative post test quasi experiment design with simple random sampling technique. Total sample of intervention group which is consisted of 56 respondents who received the implementation of DSME and control group which is consisted of 44 respondents who received no implementation of DSME. The statistical analysis using Independent T test resulted significant difference in self-care patient diabetes mellitus (p=0.000<0.05) between those two groups. It is expected that health care workers facilitate the self-care of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus through the use of DSME implementation which has been shown in improving the knowledge and self-care to prevent further complications. Abstract

Giving weaning food too early has a very high risk of contamination, which is the occurrence of gastroenteritis which is very dangerous for the baby and can reduce milk production because babies rarely breastfeed. The purpose of this study was to find out the factors related to the administration of MP-ASI in infants aged 0-6 months in the UPTD of Kemalaraja Health Center in 2017. The quantitative research design was an analytical survey with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study were all mothers who had babies aged 0-6 months who came to the UPTD of Kemalaraja Health Center in January - March 2017, samplingconducted by accidental sampling with a total sample of 50 people and the measuring instrument used was a questionnaire. Data analysis included univariate and bivariate using the chi-square test. The results of statistical tests found that there is a relationship between maternal education (pvalue = 0.004), family income (p-value = 0.001) support family (p-value = 0.003) by giving weaning food to infants aged 0-6 months at the UPTD in Kemalaraja Health Center in 2017.   Keywords: Weaning Food, Education, Family Income, Family Support

Abstract

Anemia in adolescents can cause physical growth retardation, behavioral and emotional disorders. This can affect the growth process and development of brain cells so that it can cause decreasing on imun system, weak easily and hunger, learning concentration disturbed, decreased learning achievement and can lead to low work productivity. According to data from Riskesdas in 2013, the prevalence of anemia in female teenagers aged 10-18 years was 57.1% and aged 19 - 45 years was 39.5%. Women have the highest risk to get anemia, especially in female teenagers. This study aims to determine the relationship between hemoglobin level (Hb) and learning achievement of midwifery students who live at Educational Dormitory of STIK Bina Husada Palembang in 2017. This study was quantitative with cross sectional approach. The study sample amounted to 84 respondents. The study instrument was Set of Hb Sahli and Checklist. Data analysis was univariate and bivariate with chi-square method. The study was conducted on 12 ? 23 June 2017. The study results showed there was significant relationship of hemoglobin levels variable with the learning achievement of Midwifery Students who lived at Educational Dormitory of STIK Bina Husada Palembang in 2017, with p value = 0.005 (? ? 0.05). The value of OR = 9,000 meant that respondents with Un-normal Hb had a chance 9 times to have Less learning achievement, compared with respondents with Normal Hb levels. It is expected that female teenagers will always maintain the reproductive health and actively seek information about reproductive health to detect early if abnormal (pathological) conditions are found. Keywords: Hemoglobin Level, Learning Achievement

Abstract

Every day there are around eight hundred thirty thousand mothers in the world die from diseases/complications related to pregnancy and childbirth. The cause of maternal death can be due to maternal factors or factors from the fetus. Labor is a very important event in a woman's life. The experience that they feel while undergoing labor is certainly different. When a woman has the experience of the first child with normal labor, there will be happiness and also a feeling of fear related to the condition of the fetus. Unlike the case when the woman gives birth to her second child by cesarean, there will be a feeling of worry, anxiety and fear. This feeling arises because the woman will experience a labor condition that is different from the previous labor. Qualitative study of phenomenology to explore the experience of labor. Six participants, namely multigravida mothers, had experiences of normal labor and sectio, were willing to be participants, were able to express their labor experiences, and were in place when the study was conducted. Data was collected through in-depth interviews twice which were completed with field notes. Interviews were recorded and then transcripts of interviews were made and analyzed using the Collaizi approach. The results of the study revealed three themes, namely the response at delivery, coping mechanism at delivery, and support obtained when facing labor. For nursing services, there needs to be an explanation for patients and families related to labor. This is important to reduce client and family anxiety. In addition, the results of this study can be used as information in improving health services not only from the biological side but on the psychological aspect of the mother. Keywords : Experience, Childbirth

Abstract

One aspect of preanalytical that may affect the results of erythrocyte examination is the ratio between the volume of blood with an anticoagulant. If the blood volume is insufficient to anticoagulant causes red cells to crenated, and if the blood volume is excess to anticoagulant can cause blood clot. This research is pre experiment with static group comparison design using total sampling technique. The Subject of this research amounted to 34 residents of RT 57 RW 13 Kelurahan Kebun Bunga Sukarami District of Palembang aged 40-50 years. Each subject of research conducted about 3 mL blood sample, then the blood is divided into 2 groups is group one (0.5 mL of blood in K2EDTA tube 2 mL) and group two (2 mL of blood in K2EDTA tube 2 mL). Blood samples were then examined using a Sysmex XS-800i. The results of the examination average number of erythrocytes in blood volume of 0.5 mL and 2 mL with K2EDTA have a difference of as much as 2%. Based on this research can Wilcoxon Sign Rank test results is p=0.011 (p <0.025) is showed a difference red blood count between blood volume of 0.5 mL and 2 mL in K2EDTA tube.
