Abstract

The primary purpose of this research is to know lecturers’ activities as the agent of science growth through scientific research and how they highlight a phenomenon using deductive apriory perspective and inductive aposteriory perspective. Deductive apriory perspective is a way to prove an empirical data referring to general propositions that is certain relevant theories with a unit analysis and research object. Whereas, inductive aposteriory perspective is the way oppose to deductive apriory, namely, proving in advance the empirical data on the spot, then followed by creating concepts and propositions which estuary on forming and formulating theory. In other words, deductive and inductive perspective is the binary opposition. Doing research using deductive way is the positivistic aprovident with quantitative approach generating singular truth. Doing research inductively refers to post-positivistic aprovident with qualitative approach affecting on multifaced truth. Abstract

Consumers require knowledge and involvement upon consuming products/services. In order to find out the characteristics of the products/services, consumers perform certain efforts from searching information through the media, being directly involved by using the products/services, to asking questions to the products/services users. Consumers’ level of interest and ability in deciding which products/services they want to use also vary.  Consumers are highly influenced by product knowledge, and (personal) involvement with the chosen products/services. This research aims at understanding how characteristics of products/services and personal involvement motivate consumers in using the services of Jurusan Komunikasi Pemasaran Universitas Bina Nusantara. Using quantitative research approach, this research tried to understand the level of validity and reliability of research instrument, the efficiency of research instrument, and relationship among variables. The result showed that the research instrument is valid and reliabel. The reliability is stated from the Cronbach Alpha value of each variable (product knowledge = 0,877; product involvement = 0,734; motivation = 0,836).  The instrument is valid with Corrected Item-Total Correlation value of 0,148 (approx. df = N-2; or df = 164). It is concluded that consumers’ product knowledge and product involvement to Jurusan Komunikasi Pemasaran Universitas Bina Nusantara motivate the (future) students in putting it as the preferred place to have quality education. One of the suggestions is to invite more media practitioners during Open House Program since it will enable the (future) students to have better understanding on the communication related activities.

Abstract

Preposition was a word that completes the meaning of the verb and noun in the sentence structure of Arabic. The use of prepositions in Arabic was truly significant in understanding the Arabic text, especially holy texts. The question was why prepositions were used in sentences such, whereas the other joints could also give the same meaning? Article presented an analysis of syntax-semantics of prepositions في Fi and علىcAla in al-Quran al-Karim across science of Arabic rhetoric (Balagha). Data were restricted to partial phrase في الضلال and على الهدى ever discussed by Ibn Athir. There are 29 places in the Quran that mention في الضلال and 6 points for على الهدى. Critical analysis based on the discipline of linguistics is expected to expose the use of prepositions in Arabic from the precision and beauty of the Arabic language itself. Summary of the study suggest that research on elements of the rhetoric says that other reasonable tasks highlighted in subsequent studies.
