Abstract

Issue raised is the lacks of animation quality in facial expressions that often make the characters do not look quite alive. The method used to find a solution is recording human facial expressions as a reference in a state of silence, dialogue, movement, and interaction with the gadgets. Once the reference is obtained, the results of the study are implemented in a 3D model which is ready to be animated. The goal is to make animated facial expressions and lively as similar as possible to actual human facial expressions. After making the animation, the animation results are compared with the references recorded to infer the observation.

Abstract

The article discusses about how to develop spiritual intelligence of students in the college environment. This article describes pinciples of the application of the six ways of spiritual intelligence development into learning models, assignments, and campus life. The principles should be done by considering the meaning of the spiritual, developmental characteristics of students, and the characteristics of students’ spiritual development.

Abstract

Character education at various universities in Indonesia have been getting attention even has become a priority. However, the extent to which this character education can be designed as an integral part of formal education. This paper discusses the importance of teaching Character building as part of character education in the formal education system in the course of Bina Nusantara University of Character Building. Character Education Building is arranged in a systematic and integrated in the Curriculum Lecture of CBDC. Therefore, one said education act is always active and planned, then education is a conscious act or action in order to change attitudes and code of conduct that is expected humanizing intelligent, skilled, independent, disciplined, and noble. However in the application, design and implementation of the program courses Character building is kept under review by the team as part of efforts for continuous improvement.

Abstract

Religious pluralism is a phenomenon that cannot be avoided. If religious pluralism is not rightly understood by religious believers, pluralism will lead to interreligious conflict. This paper would like to reveal the thoughts of Yusuf al-Qaradawi about religious pluralism and tolerance in Islam. The purposes of writing this paper are exploring the concept of religious pluralism and tolerance, describing the biography of Yusuf al-Qaradawi and his influences in Islamic studies, and describing the thoughts of Yusuf al-Qaradawi about religious pluralism and tolerance in Islam. In paper the author uses descriptive-analytical method. The procedures are data collection, classification of data, data analysis, and drawing conclusions. Source of the data was gained from information available in the literatures. The data analysis was done by using content analysis method (content analysis), which is an attempt to explore the symbolic meaning of the message or the contents of a book or other writings products. Result showed that pluralism in Islam is based on the fact that God has created man in the diversity and plurality. For that to avoid disaster or human conflict, it is necessary tolerance values. Qur'an, Sunnah, and behavior as scholars have become reasons to appreciate the difference.

Abstract

Character Building Subject is required for students in preparation to face the world outside the campus, workplace, society, peers, and even family. Character Building is a process or efforts done to develop, improve and/or to shape characters, dispositions, psychological nature, morals (manners) of human beings (people) that indicate attitudes and good behaviors. Values and factors that influence the Character Building are spirit, togetherness, and caring. The concept of Character Building which could be obtained in formal institutions (campus), informal institutions (family), and non-formal institutions (courses, student spiritual clubs) has an influence and impact on the character of students, whether intentional or not. Nevertheless, it will not happen if there is no self-consciousness in the student. Good Character Building will also be a benchmark in the workplace. Learning Character Building that students get apparently contributes to the formation of student character, of which influences their behaviors. The effect can be seen from the attitude of students such as honesty, trustworthiness in maintaining trust and job given. Character Building is a subject that imparts the values of good behavior to students; and therefore when they jump into the workplace, there will no longer happen the cases of corruption and fraud resulting from the dishonesty because people like that do not have a good character.

Abstract

This paper provides a new perspective of looking at our natural environment with a spiritual perspective. The main argument of this paper was inspired by the emergence of the reality of our natural environment is increasingly damaged by the implications of a variety of viewpoints, attitudes and human behavior are destructive and counterproductive. The influences of modern science and philosophy have reduced logical meaning of the universe solely on technical functions-economical to fulfill the needs of humans (anthropocentric). In effect, we are witnessing the natural environment is being weakened only in different parts of the world. So this paper is an effort to return to the community awareness of the contemporary world that still cares for the future of our natural environment better. This paper provides an alternative framework as well as a new optimism for our natural environment lasting and sustainable return by optimizing intrinsic qualities inherent in every human being as a spiritual being. Then become eco-spiritual as a necessity for our contemporary world society today.

Abstract

University is an important institution that would form the nation culture and responsible for the culture transmission. The assessment of a good organizational culture is an important part in the study of organizational culture. The research objective is to analyze organizational culture of Bina Nusantara University comprehensively, the strengths and weaknesses of its effort to become “The World Class University". The research methodology is qualitative with method combination of FGD, in-depth interviews and covert observation. The research outcome shows that Bina Nusantara University has had elements of modern organization characteristic such as innovative management (centralized non-academic function and decentralize academic function); transparent and results-oriented management system with clear and measurable target; detail operational procedure. It has been able to create healthy working environment that supports high integrity, working ethics, dedication, loyalty, opened communication and high sense of belonging. It utilizes information and communications technology through a comprehensive and integrated system called Binusmaya as its ikon and identity.As an educational institution, Bina Nusantara University should develop 3 other elements which are role model, spirit and character building. Former rector (the founder) was an inspired role model that provided a profound influence to the attitudes and behaviors of its members.

Abstract

Mass media reports about two males figure who have the power and wealth associated with the case in love relationship. It is not only seen as an “accident" for the women, it needs to be reviewed as further education. The purpose of research is to answer how the district regent of Garut case and the phenomenon of Ahmad Fathanah be a lesson for family communication. The method used is limited to library study, but it is also possible to continue in next research that is exploratory or explanatory research. Through this literature review, the researcher logic is a mainstay of the validity of research results. The results showed that the concept of true marriage must begin with the family, not only limited to verbal communication but also nonverbal. With the right family communication, stigma about women who just want male treasures is disallowed and can be positive thing for the women themselves. Recommendation is mass media help to achieve it through the selection of wise and polite language in framing the news about the women who seem to be "victims" of the power and wealth of men in the study case.

Abstract

Constructivism theories believe that learning process should be conducted under a specific condition, which is social and cultural background of the target language. Learner’s language ability is built through communication and activities that helps to shape meaningful construction. This theory has a very high impact on teaching conversation. This article discusses the Constructivism theory, its relation on learner’s word production, psychological mechanism and teaching intermediate conversation’s characteristics, as well as the feasibility and applicability of Constructivism theory in the process on teaching intermediate conversation.

Abstract

This work is entitled Inclusive Islam: The study of doctrine and history. This study uses hermeneutic approach (hermeneutics approach), and method used in collecting data is library research (library research). This work was motivated by a phenomenon that is now Muslims no longer perform the inclusive theology. Religion expected to bring the mercy mission to the world no longer show its role significantly. This may be due to religious thought has been contaminated by a variety of politic, economic, culture, and so forth. Now religious understanding is necessary to be reconstructed, by putting forward the spirit of togetherness and a mercy to the world. Religious understanding seems to be justified by faith, when in fact it is not; in fact,it conflicts with any religious teachings. Therefore, in this work, the author would like to show an understanding of Islam that is open, flexible, and tolerant (Islam Inclusive). Inclusive Islam is the religious understanding or insight that is open, flexible, and tolerant. Open has a meaning that Islam provides opportunities for people to criticize, if the truth or wisdom is delivered, then a tolerant religious have to accept, though of anyone or anything coming. Flexible means meaningful contact with others, without feeling awkward, and also regardless of the differences that exist, whether religion, creed, or origin. Tolerant means respecting the differences that exist, either with the same religion/belief or with a different religion/belief. Such an understanding is not only shaped by history but the doctrinal background can be found in the major source of the teachings of Islam, namely the Qur'an and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad SAW.
