Abstract

Learning means changing. Conditions of learning rely on a person's organizational thought against the learning process. One’s organizational thought is categorized into three major categories, each of which is divided into two phases: pre-conventional, conventional, and post-conventional. The teaching world, not least Bina Nusantara university, should play a role in developing the organizational thought /moral development of every person whom becomes the believer. This moral mapping may be information underlying the learning model. This mapping is generated through qualitative research of 10 Bina Nusantara university students, grade 04, PAF. Data collection technique used observational-partisipative method with the instrument of three moral dilemmas and Kohlberg’s moral stage development indicators. The results in the form of mapping of moral development is reported in the form of pie charts moral The study also resulted in the proposal of moral learning model that can be tested in subsequent research.

Abstract

This study discusses the relationship between academic self-efficacy and academic self-concept with academic achievement. The design of the study was descriptive - correlational, with a study sample of 192 children. Statistical Analysis with SPSS computer method (Statistical Package for Social Science) version 17.0 for windows is used to find out characteristics of the respondents, and the regression analysis between the two independent variables (self-efficacy and academic self-concept academic) and the dependent variable (academic achievement) produce models regression . The results showed only variable Self-Efficacy (SE) contributes positively to academic achievement. It is supported by the value of t-statistic greater than 1, 645 for the value . Hence it can be said that the dependent variable (academic achievement) can be predicted with self-efficacy academic.

Abstract

The current study aims to validate the measure of marital satisfaction among young urban married couples. Marital satisfaction is defined as a individual’s subjective experience toward marriage or components within a marriage. The scale consists of 38 items measuring individual’s satisfaction in communication, division in roles, agreement, openness, intimacy, intimacy in social relationship, sexuality, finance, and spirituality. The results indicate that the instrument was found to be reliable (α= 0.920) and have low correlation with subjective rating of overall marital satisfaction (rs = 0.293, p < 0.05).

Abstract

Harmonious family is the best environment for individuals to be able to shape a healthy personality. Healthy personality and healthy families are necessary in building a healthy society, which in turn is needed in building the nation. In fact many couples have not been able to seek a harmonious family so that they end their marriages in divorce. Causes of divorce in general are because there is no harmony. Article is based on the observation and study of literature. It describes the efforts to build harmony in the family, before marriage and during marriage. Therefore, the couple is able to understand the difference between them and respond positively and always communicate assertively.

Abstract

Basic Chinese Conversation is a foundation for beginner learners. Beginner learners will learn how to pronounce voice and tone with aspirated and unaspirated sounds. Then they will learn vocabulary and basic grammar. Nevertheless in this step there are many problems in learning pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar including other issues. With these problems, the writer has intensively read and analyzed materials about Indonesian Chinese language learners’ speech difficulties and problems, then searched for the solution.

Abstract

This article analyzes an Indonesian version of Contemporary Chinese teaching material. It is found that in this teaching material there are several problems relating to the content of text, translation, and context of text if it is used by Indonesian students. Therefore, it needs to consider “five elements” of language, cultural, and teaching principles in compiling the Chinese teaching materials for Indonesian students.

Abstract

This writing is not an inquiry to classical philosophy per se but is an attempt to propose a dialogue. The content of this writing is a dialogue between classic realm of philosophical thought which is represented by Plato and the realm of thought from the end of modernity, which is represented by Friedrich Nietzsche. The proposed dialogue presented through this writing is not for the sake of permeating or exposing the dialogue, also, per se but is contextualized with the recent contemporary condition of academic world in general and design education in university in specific. What this writing tries to show and reflect is, first, a found similarity in Plato’s concept of education on natural born philosopher with Nietzsche’s übermensch. Secondly, there’s a sense of urgency for the features of übermensch within nowadays nihilistic society to arise. Manifested Übermensch is to embrace nihilism within prevailing stubborn condition of comodifying design higher education through formal templatization of creativity. This concern is relevant to Plato’s concept of education: it is not a matter of privatization through commodification, but since it is now, this might prepare a way for übermensch to emerge. Structurally, this writing is divided into three parts. The introduction reflects on contemporary condition of higher education (on design). Second, this article shares writer’s reflection of the similarities between Plato’s concept and Nietzsche’s on education. Lastly, it is to show the potentiality of Platonic approach on education to give birth to übermensch.

Abstract

The main character in a movie is the central to the film itself. Generally, a movie tells the story of a specific character. The character can be drawn from figures that exist in the real world or a fictional character. Thus, the success of a movie is always directly proportional to the success of a movie script writer in formulating the main character in the movie. By the increasing of techniques of writing a story, it can be determined how to make characters to be interesting in a movie script.

Abstract

Motion graphics is one category in the animation that makes animation with lots of design elements in each component. Motion graphics needs long process including preproduction, production, and postproduction. Preproduction has an important role so that the next stage may provide guidance or instructions for the production process or the animation process. Preproduction includes research, making the story, script, screenplay, character, environment design and storyboards. The storyboard will be determined through camera angles, blocking, sets, and many supporting roles involved in a scene. Storyboard is also useful as a production reference in recording or taping each scene in sequence or as an efficient priority. The example used is an ad creation using motion graphic animation storyboard which has an important role as a blueprint for every scene and giving instructions to make the transition movement, layout, blocking, and defining camera movement that everything should be done periodically in animation production. Planning before making the animation or motion graphic will make the job more organized, presentable, and more efficient in the process.

Abstract

This article discusses how to sculpt digitally with ZBrush software. This is a new trend in film, gaming, and animation industry using 3D modelling software like ZBrush. ZBrush is a digital sculpting tool that combines modeling 3D/2.5D, texturing, and painting. The use of a technology called Pixol on the software allows deep storage of lighting, color, and material information in an object in the layer. Moreover, the technology differs Zbrush with other 3d modeling softwares which are more traditional because the software is more like sculpting. Zbrush as a digital sculpting tool is capable of making high-resolution models (up to ten million polygons). The Zbrush capability at the level of high resolution and detail level can be set dynamically, allowing the user to make changes in total or in part on the carvings. Stages described in the article in addition to explain the function of the tool, are also the advantages that exist in ZBrush software compared to other 3d softwares. Sample images from various sources and some projects may help the reader know and understand the Zbrush software and bridge the manual artist to digital 3d artist as well.
