Abstract

Rhytm, depth, balance, unity are 4 main visual composition principles which are abbreviated and simple. The design principles made it easier to design beautiful visual communication but still reflecting strong effects for audience in extracting one trick of desain principles: emphasis. The article adapts literature study method from 7 popular books about visual design communication, along with information beneath each book. The analysis consists of descripted important parts in design principles, then summarize them into 4 (rhythm, depth, balance, unity) plus 1 (emphasis). The article hopefully could facilitate lecturers and students in learning process in DKV classes.

Abstract

 Internet is an alternative media that have become a trend, a lifestyle and a need for people in the world. Moreover, the interface display of a website is getting more beautiful, more interesting, and more sophisticated. That's the reason why a web design presents a visual display of a website that has certain messages that cover layouts, graphic elements, and navigation systems to facilitate the users in browsing it. Now a website has shown the identity of a product, a company, and even the owner. To face a tight global competition, a web design plays an important role in surpassing other competitors.

Abstract

Article is an outcome from writer?s reflection from his reading on Homo Sacer, Sovereign Power and Bare Life, a book by Giorgio Agamben, an Italian 20th century philosopher. The reading concerns with the three chapters which are Homo Sacer, The Ambivalence of The Sacred, and The Sacred Life, and also the preface of chapters. Generally, this article proposes two main things. First, Agamben?s description on Western modern political practice, developed from the Greek until today. Second, writer?s reflection on educational system in Indonesia, especially the higher education level in nowadays, through Agamben?s perspective. Structurally, article is divided into three parts. First, the Preface, is a general view to Agamben?s political thought which will stand as a background to the second part from this article, Homo Sacer. On the third part, Education as Bare Life, is writer?s reflection on higher education system in Indonesia borrowing the political perspectives from Agamben.

Abstract

Religion is one exclusive vocabulary in religious. This institution arranges the relationship of religious with God, Devine Substance that was being prayed in mondial religions. Religious, including spiritualists, that accommodated in one religion must have altogether consciousness in an altogether identity that signed their devotional practices, rites, and spiritual practices that they actualized in togetherness circumstances (communal). Religion and spiritualism are elements having special-unique function for groups of people to internalize. A basic question that keeps claiming role and function of religion today that it is challenged to disclose factual experience that could significantly contribute for better quality in social life from time to time. Moreover, actual issue that writer will discuss is discourse related to religious summit experience topic in believe dynamic. It is included in explaining multidimensional aspect that shows religious experience being applied to fix human quality life into positive and also to fulfill hopes of people.

Abstract

Shuujoshi is a particle in the end of a sentence which shows speaker?s feeling and influence listener?s. Shuujoshi ne and yo have meaning differences as functional distinction that make the two articles divided into each functionalization. Using shuujoshi ne and yo is related with speaker?s consideration towards information of listener. It is noted that Shuujoshi ne, used by speaker when he has the same perception with listener. Meanwhile, using shuujoshi yo happens when there is different statements from speaker and listener?s perception. Besides, there is also meaning differences among shuujoshi ne and the like, and also among shuujoshi yo and the like. Therefore, when learners of Japanese language learn about shuujushi ne and yo, they will not rely on text books only.

Abstract

Discussion of the draft of National Security Act in the House of Representatives cannot be separated from the political charge. Politicization of policy formulation in the draft of National Security Act sometimes can lead to the policy distortion. The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the policy politicization of National Security Act draft. This study revealed that from the aspect of ?all questions political questions?, the Parliament gives a political question in the framework of the process of policy control. In the second aspect, ?all issues political issues?, issues that arise and become a concern are issues which are considered threaten the human rights and democracy. In the third, ?all values political values?, the parliament is fighting for the human rights and democracy values. From the last aspect of ?all decisions political decisions?, the parliament political decision for not approving the draft, because it is not in favor with the agenda of reformation and democracy. This study concluded that the politicization of policy in the Draft Law is still considered normal. Politicization occurred because policy adoption involves the executive and the legislature, in the context of political checks and balances.

Abstract

The background of this research is based on the structure of a company as resource of structural stagnancy on its managerial level. Otherwise, the company structure has to face organizational multidimensional competition in global market. Stagnancy became a problem to an organization if there would be some consequences of working and synergy decreased significantly. The resolution of such stagnancy, especially to those agencies that had good and successful track record, like a manager, can be logically a job rotation. In this case, a manager as an asset of management resource plays an important and strategic position in order to develop a competitive organization in global market nowadays. This research mainly aims to modify the management resources as one of a business strategy to gain successfulness of a company sustainably. This study took quantitative, interpretative, and descriptive approach. The findings of this study indicated that a periodic change in such away like a rotation on the level of managerial collaborative participation which adjusted to the Theory of Contingency by Fiedler can be done in organization system. Besides, it can be held on the level of managers to adapt themselves throughout the global market competition.

Abstract

When speaking of progress, photography is one of the things that is experiencing a quite vast development, and relatively wide in terms of technology or its visual feature. What it means by visual feature here is that in a long period of time, a lot has changed in its idea or concept. Also, it means the print media, or even its printing technique. Moreover he most basic of all is its character of the result in the photo itself. Whether the object taken, moment or time of the photo shoot, all these factors quite represent several genres in photography. For example, if the photography is making a human being to become its model, it might mean a modeling photo shoot, kids, or family photo shoot. Also it might mean a studio/indoor photo shoot or an outdoor photo shoot, when speaking of genre category. If the photo taken is a moment or an event, it might be a journalistic genre or a documentation one. Several themes or visual feature in a photo shoot will become one of the aspects for us the subject to be able to categorize the kind of genre they are. Hence, those genres definitely serve different functions.

Abstract

In Indonesia, in addition to english mandarin also become a very common thing. Many companies employ one of the conditions of staff must be fluent in speaking Chinese, reading and writing Chinese characters. Therefore, the majority of schools in Indonesia have set up Chinese language courses, in order to give Chinese language?s basic foundation to their students. In Pluit, courses of Chinese language schools are mostly private, three-language schools and international schools (not including international schools in the U.S. system). Through the six factors of curriculum (Teachers, facilities, scores, textbooks, curricula, and social participation ), the writer wants to analyze Permai Plus school curriculum Chinese course situation.

Abstract

Graphic design as an applied art started to grow side by side with the growth of many businesses that needed promotion and advertising. Although graphic design can be categorized as a service company, it cannot be directly handled the same as any other service companies. Design companies always involve two opposite poles: aesthetic vs. logic, individual vs. mass, idealism versus reality. The best way viewing a graphic design as a business entity is seeing through its business model?s side. A business model is a simple representation of the complex reality of a business. The primary purpose of a business model is to communicate business mechanism among stakeholders. The article gives insight to see components of graphic design business and their future challenge. In the future, it is expected there are more discussions about this topics so that Indonesian graphic design industry will grow in the future.
