Digital world, internet and mobile have made communication does not move in one way anymore. Visual Communication as a part of Communication recently is going to be more personal, segmented, interactive, user-generated content, accessible and available in huge quantities. In the positive side, users have more options to receive or to respond communication signals according to his/her needs and wants. In opposite, now everybody gets information clutter caused by unbalanced information between what we can received and what we can digested. For that reason we need method to study the people as an object of our communication. Learning user experience concept make us understand more about our object insight. The aim of this paper is to review principles that used in UX study. In the future we expect this discourse will be assesed and used in a design thinking method and developed in visual communication design institution. Research method used in this paper is based on literatural studies. Understanding of UX will help designers developing design that can be effectively communicate with their segement.

Painting ?Hidup Ini Indah Apapun Keadaannya? was made to commemorate the 5.9 magnitude earthquake occurred in Yogyakarta. This painting shows an unusual visual and illustration with depth of meaning. The relationship between symbols, shapes, and colors could give unique impression to the person who saw it. It became interesting to examine this painting using iconography method. This article examined relevant dimensions existing in the portrait, such as: theological, ethical, cultural anthropology, and psychology. These dimensions are perceived to be able to convey the message and profound meaning to the people who look at the painting. Through this painting, art was believed to have strength to create society to be better.

In this global era, communication, interaction and intercultural encounters happen every second. Technology expands the ability of people throughout the world to connect to each other for vacation or for business purpose. Intercultural communication skills will be critical necessity. The ability to work in multicultural workforce and interact with people from other cultures, often in other languages, is inherent to the success of a multinational business. Effective global enterprise communication skills are the backbone that supports the transaction of business around the world. This paper highlights the importance of intercultural awareness and the need for intercultural communication competence training for all local and multinational companies. Therefore, intercultural cooperation and synergy become an important aspect in this era. Companies that have intercultural competence will be able to succeed and sustain success in global business.

Indonesia has varieties in religions. The varieties some time make conflicts among religions, especially Islam and Christians. This situation brings two choices. First is to be vulnerable because of conflicts and the second is a source for better life and faith. For sure the choice will be number two. According to research and Teilhard theory, convergence of religions will transform one?s faith to God. Teilhard says that religions cannot be separated from evolution. Religions are in progress. In the beginning they teach to have individual salvation, and now to have salvation collectively. Collectiveness is signed by neo-humanism in modern age and the rising of intereligios diologue. This article is hoped to contribute the new sight how people?s faith and see the other religions and also strengthen interreligious diologue especially through living diologue.

Article presented the role and function of translation critics, preceded by analyzing a difference of translation results based on the men?s jobs, continued by clarifying the meaning and role of translation critics, translation analysis as one aspect in tranlation critics, and efforts to involve translation critics in education. It is concluded that translation critics is a bridge that correlate translation theory dan its practice, the importance of the critician.s attitude and his knowled in translation, the ability of a translation critician in comprehending and analysing the output of translation, and the advantage of involving translation critics in education.

Developing graphic design business needs promotion materials, some of them are newsletter, business card, Credit Line, and protofolio. Article explores the strategy of making newsletter, how to make business card to be professional, how to get the credit line, and how to make a portofolio, and what media that is able to clearly clarify the portofolio. It is concluded that people need extra ordinary creativity to achieve a successful in graphic design business.

Nowadays, there are developing theories in social psychology. Two of them are activity and social dilemma theory. Unfortunately, Indonesia has less expertise in specific theoretical social psychology. The article is purposed to give analysis for the two theories including its history, its development today, and also its research critical and prospect in the future. This description could help academics and practitioners to build and develop best theories (as well as practice) in their own environment. Based on the critical analysis, it could be concluded that along with their advantages and limits, both activity and social dilemma theory are prospective in triggering researches especially in Indonesia, where there are not much research using those theories.

This is a research paper that takes as its central issue recent contestations and negotiations between Indonesia and Malaysia regarding certain forms of these countries? intangible cultural heritage. In recent years, there has been an increasing incident in relation with cultural conflicts that happens between these two neighboring countries. These cultural conflicts specifically referred to the traditional performance arts, which has been hereditarily bequeathed by their respective ancestors. Despite the facts that both countries shared the same cultural roots, each side seems has a tendency to despise each other whenever the subject of culture ownership is being brought: both claim for the same cultural rights. Questions on which side is more entitled to the rights became public fierce debates; and it wildly happened especially in the online world through the medium of social networking platform. This paper examines the phenomenon on how should the ownership of authenticity be placed. And since it happens in the modern societies which cannot be separated from their digital personas, the role of social media is inexorably also be addressed. It will link the two identities of the public who is initially mere the audience of the performance then transform into the owner of the cultural product in dispute. This essay begins by a major length discussion about the concept of authenticity in culture, along with the ownership of intangible heritage, the motivation for claiming authenticity, and the protection of cultural property. It will then go on to the topic of the major changes brought by social media in the modern society. Subsequently it will continue to the state of cultural conflict between Indonesia and Malaysia over ?stolen? cultural heritage.

Preschool age is a period of a child experiencing the early stage of self-development, influenced by both her/himself and surrounding environment. Playgroup is a very essential container in training children?s early stage of self-development to adulthood. It is strongly influenced by the design of the playgroup space. Good design of playgroup space will be able to optimize creativity and stimulates motoric nerves and children?s psychological side to keep learning, grow, and do activities. Creativity accompanied with intelligence and sense of responsibility is expected to make the child as excelent human being who is able to do original works and live in independence in the future.

According to Bank Indonesia, the currency redenomination is simplification by reducing the three-digit number zero, without reducing its value. Fundamental changes in the nominal rate of writing, become very urgent in terms of design drafting new bills. The process and method of creating the work is qualitative, ie, empirical studies of cultural phenomena in the creation of this work aimed at deepening the validity of the data, the researchers involved in the search for the data directly in the field. The way it can play a significant role in revealing and unravel the problem, in order to create connectivity in the creation of the work needs to be focused on the core message. The findings are contributions of renewable and creative solutions in the manufacture of paper currency design planning of Rupiahs, including the proposed vertical format that has never been applied to the design of paper currency of Rupiahs. Then the proposed implementation of security features barcode, which has advantages and superiority in facilitating the detection of counterfeit banknotes, will make digital counting faster and more accurate than manual.
