Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Si-Lima Layang-layang (SiMaYang) type II learning model on Angiosperms material on understanding the macroscopic, microscopic, and symbolic levels. This study was a pretest-posttest multiple group design experiment. The effectiveness of the learning model was measured by the N-gain score of the angiosperm test. Hyphothesis was tested using Manova (Multivariate Analysis of Variance) with SPSS. The result of the analysis is the sig value. 0.010 < 0.05, which means that there is a significant difference in understanding the macroscopic level between the SiMaYang type II class and the Discovery Learning class. Sig value. 0.016 < 0.05, which means that there is a significant difference in understanding microscopic level between the SiMaYang type II class and the Discovery Learning class. Sig value. 0.396 > 0.05, which means that no significant difference level of understanding the symbolic between the SiMaYang type II class and the Discovery Learning class. It can be concluded, SiMaYang type II is effective in improving understanding at the macroscopic and microscopic level, but not for the symbolic.

Abstract

The 21st century is an era where information and knowledge technology developed rapidly. They are really affect all aspect of life especially on education sector. HOTS is one of the skills needed to face the challenges of the 21st century that requires students to think critically, creatively, and analyze an information which can be used as a way to solve the problem. This study aims to develop HOTS-oriented supplement books and find out the effectiveness of supplement books to improve students' problem-solving abilities. The supplement book that developed has HOTS characteristics which able to provoke students to improve their ability of reason, analyze, think creatively and solve the problems. This study uses a modified Research and Development (R&D) method. The results of this study 1) HOTS-oriented supplement book on polymer material in content / material and language in valid criteria according the experts with average of 3.78. Whereas in the graphic component, the language eligibility and the physical component of the supplement book is very valid criteria according to media experts 3,78. 2) The supplement book has oriented on HOTS polymer material developed which improves students' problem solving abilities effectively. It is proven by an increasing of post-test scores, with medium N-Gain criteria and achieve 100% classical completeness.

Abstract

The diversity of fish as an environmental potential found in Tuban Regency can be used as a supplement to contextual-based teaching materials which are packaged in the form of a digital encyclopedia. Smartphone owned by students can be used in learning biology. This study aims to 1) Study and describe the diversity of fish at TPI Bulu Bancar and Gelondonggede Tambakboyo Tuban, 2) Assess product characteristics, 3) Test product validity based on material and media, 4) Test product effectiveness in improving student learning outcomes , and 5) Testing the practicality of the product. This research belongs to Research and Development. Observation is used as the data collection methodology in obtained fish biodiversity. The development is in the form of an android-based digital encyclopedia which is then used as a supplement to teaching materials for biodiversity. The trial was conducted at SMAN 1 Bancar Tuban by taking control and experimental classes. The results showed 1) The diversity of fish species found in TPI Bulu Bancar and Gelondonggede Tambakboyo Tuban each consisted of 17 species and 23 species, 2) Product characteristics were developed in digital form containing material on biodiversity of fish, 3) Validity by material experts valid criteria and media experts with very valid criteria. 4) The effectiveness test is seen from the increase in cognitive learning outcomes. The digital encyclopedia of fish diversity can be used as a supplement to teaching materials on contextual-based biodiversity materials.

Abstract

The National Science Olympic (OSN) is a prestigious event in the world of education organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture ( Kemendikbud ). OSN is implemented with the aim of facilitating and motivating students who have talent in the field of science, so that they can improve their abilities and select students to the international level . The good achievements of Indonesian sons and daughters in academia provide promising Human Resources (HR) solutions. However few students are aware of and interested to participate and compete with other academic institutions at national level even in the midst of international. The module is a supporting medium for the preparation of the selection of candidates for the regency level high school science olympic participants. The development of a question-based module for high school biology olympic is expected to improve school human resources to involve students in various national and international competitions. The results showed that "Problem Based Module Development as a Preparation for Selection of Science Olympic Participants in Biology for High School Level" found three findings. First, a module based on biology olympic questions is valid for use in the learning process based on validation by material experts and media experts with a percentage of 86% with very valid criteria. Second , the module based on biology olympic questions is effectively used to improve student learning outcomes seen from the N-gain value of 0.70 high criteria. Third, the module based on the SMA biology Olympic questions is practically used by teachers and students, based on the results of the teacher's response assessment of 93%, the criteria are very feasible to facilitate the task of the teacher in preparing lesson plans, facilitate the implementation of learning, and make it easier to evaluate student learning outcomes. The student response is 85.2%. The criteria are very suitable for students to use both in terms of good presentation, easy to understand, and can increase learning motivation and interest in participating in the Olympics .

Abstract

One of the 21st century skills that students need to be able to compete in the international world is Thingking. Thingking is the ability to solve problems, this aspect is an important skill because a person's success is determined by his thinking skills, especially in solving a problem. In addition to problem-solving abilities, research also examines aspects related to learning motivation. One solution to improve problem-solving skills and learning motivation is by learning flipped classroom. Type of experimental research. The population in this study were students of class X SMK Pharmasi Semarang. Data collectors used prettest and posttest to determine the value of problem solving abilities and the value of a questionnaire to determine students' learning motivation. The results: (1) there is an effect of the application of the flipped classroom learning model on the problem solving ability of students with> 75% and it meets the minimum completeness criteria, Based on the Independent Sample T-test with the SPSS 25 program, significant results are obtained 2) there is an effect of application Learning model of flipped classroom on students' motivation. The conclusion is that there is an effect of the application of the flipped classroom learning model on problem solving abilities and learning motivation of students.

Abstract

Learning in the 21st century needs to accommodate e-learning without having to leave face to face in order to keep it interesting and effective. The innovation that can be done is through the implementation of blended learning to combine the two. Especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, students learn from home so online learning is a must. The purpose of this study is to analyze students' cognitive learning outcomes through the implementation of blended learning in Science in the material on temperature and its changes in Junior High School. This experimental research used a pretest-posttest control group design which contained an experimental class (blended learning) and a control class (online learning only). The sample of this research is the 7th grade students at SMPIT Harapan Bunda Semarang. Collecting data in this study used test methods in the form of pretest and posttest. For data analysis used analysis of learning outcomes completeness, N-gain test and t-test. Based on data analysis, it was found that the implementation of blended learning in Junior high school in science learning was effective enough to improve students’ cognitive learning outcomes compared to face-to-face online learning only. This is indicated by the percentage of student learning completeness in the experimental class of 79.66%, while in the control class it is 68.33%. From the results of the N-gain test and t-test it was also found that the experimental class had a higher increase of 0.50, while the control class was 0.44. Abstract

Interactive teaching materials supplement in the form of additional teaching materials containing materials and assignments that are linked online and given to students so that they can learn independently. This study aims to test the validity and effectiveness of these supplements in improving learning outcomes of the digestive system material. The research method uses research and development (R & D) which consists of research, development, validation, and testing. Analysis of development needs is carried out on learning constraints, teaching materials, and digestive system materials. Teaching materials are developed from the results of the analysis and then validated and tested for legibility. The trial was carried out at SMA N 1 Brebes with a one-group pretest-postest research design, which was carried out in one group only without a comparison group. The results of the validation by media experts showed an index of 87.31% and material experts showed an index of 85.41% with valid criteria, the module readability test resulted in an index of 87.48% with criteria easy to understand. The results of the application of learning using this supplement showed an effect on improving student learning outcomes with an average N-gain test of 0.57 which was included in the moderate criteria.

Abstract

The competence of plantae material is grouping plants' characteristics into divisions and linking their roles in life. This study aims to test the validity and effectiveness of the encyclopedia media for medicinal plants in Berastagi and Desa Pantai Labu, North Sumatra. Research methods and development of medicinal plants encyclopedia using the model analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The medicinal plants' encyclopedia was developed from the plant exploration research results, which were then validated and readability tests. The trial was conducted at SMA N 16 Medan using one control class (without an encyclopedia) and one experiment class (using an encyclopedia and textbooks). The exploration and identification of medicinal plant species in Berastagi and Pantai Labu Village found 30 species of medicinal plants belonging to 17 families. The characteristics of the encyclopedia of medicinal plants include images in the encyclopedia from the research results in the form of identification and inclusion of scientific names, local names, and the benefits of medicinal plants. The validation of media experts is 98%, and material experts are 95% with very valid criteria. The media readability test is 90.50% with easy-to-understand standards. The media's effectiveness in the cognitive aspects of the experiment class was higher than the control class, namely by 90% with very effective criteria. Classical mastery of the experiment class's psychomotor aspects and affective aspects was 100% with very effective criteria.

Abstract

The learning of integrated science should be supported by several things including the existence of Learning Media. The reality is that at MTs Putera Sunniyyah Selo, there are not many interesting learning media found. Even though the learning media is very important for the realization of student interest and learning outcomes. Therefore, it is necessary to develop Pop Up Book as a Learning Media. The purpose of this research is to develop Pop Up Book as learning media material on the interaction of living things with the environment, its validity and effectiveness as a learning media, and to find out how much student interest in using of Pop Up Books as a learning media. The method of research is use Research and Development (R&D). The validity test was carried out by media experts and material experts using a questionnaire. The effectiveness of learning media was measured based on the N-Gain value indicator from the pretest-posttest results, as well as the teacher and student response questionnaire scores. Student learning interest is measured based on the questionnaire score of student learning interest. The test of the effectiveness of learning media was carried out at MTs Putera Sunniyyah Selo, Tawangharjo District, Grobogan Regency, in grade VII. The results showed that the validation score of the media expert reached 88.19%, while the validation score of the material expert validation reached 90.69% with an average of 89.44%, which means that the learning media could be elassified valid. The results of the analysis of the effectiveness of the media based on the N-Gain value were 0.8, which means that the increase in the pretest posttest could be classified as high criteria. The scores for the questionnaire responses from teachers and students were 92.50% and 86.46%, both of which were very effective. The percentage of interest in learning reached 90.09% with very good criteria. Based on these indicators, it can be concluded that the Pop Up Book as a Learning Media is declared valid by media and material experts, is effectively used in learning and is able to generate interest in learning at MTs Putera Sunniyyah Selo in the very good category.

Abstract

This study aims to test the feasibility and effectiveness of the SETS-based environmental pollution module with Islamic values ​​in improving students' scientific literacy. This type of research is research and development (R&D) that uses the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The research subjects to test the developed module were 39 students and three expert lecturers consisting of science material experts, Islamic religious material experts, and media experts. The research instruments were expert validation questionnaires, legibility questionnaires, gaps test questions, and scientific literacy test questions. The expert validation data analysis showed the average score on the feasibility aspects, which were considered very valid. The readability questionnaire analysis describes the module as having excellent readability. This result is in line with the results of the gap test analysis that the module is easy for students to understand. The N-gain values ​​for the three aspects of scientific literacy are 0.46, 0.45, and 0.38 in the medium category, while the other element is 0.26 in the low class. Based on the analysis results, the environmental pollution module SETS-based with Islamic values ​​was very suitable for learning. It was effective in improving three aspects of scientific literacy.
