Abstract

Community health centers are releasing infectious wastewater that must be treated using a Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). The performance of WWTP will affect the quality of effluent wastewater, while the quality has been determined by the Governor of East Java Regulation No. 72 of 2013, so as not to pollute the environment. This research purposed to evaluate the management of WWTP incommunity health center in Surabaya, which covers the north, south, east and west.  This research analyzed the installation of 5 wastewater treatment plants, consisting of 2 WWTP Non-Inpatient Health Centers with the highest population category, and 3 Inpatient Health Centers with the highest number of beds. Data collection was obtained from observations, interviews and laboratory tests. Wastewater samplings were carried out at the inlet, after filtration and outlet. Data were analyzed descriptively and compared with East Java Governor Regulation No. 72 of 2013 and WWTP Technical Guidelines. The results of the research showed that the effluent quality of the Surabaya City Health Center wastewater treatment plant has met the quality standards. The discharge of wastewater community health centersnot exceed the maximum discharge of wastewater, but the Tanah Kalikedinding and the Jagir Health Center produced wastewater exceeding the discharge capacity of WWTP, so that the performances becomes less efficient. In terms of management, only  Dr. Soetomo health center had sufficient grades, while others got excellent grades.

Abstract

One solution to overcome the problem of malnutrition in Indonesia is to provide nutritional interventions by adding micronutrient supplementation to food or beverages. This study aims to develop functional drinks from local food (Moringa leaves, tolo beans, and corn) as additional food ingredients for children aged 2-5 years. The first stage of the research carried out tolo bean germination, while in the second stage the study determined the formulation of a local food-based functional drink with four levels of treatment, namely 0% (T1), 5% (T2), 7.5% (T3), 10% (T4). ) Moringa leaves to total formula drinks. Organoleptic tests were carried out by 30 somewhat trained panelists from level 2 students of the DIII and DIV Nutrition study programs. Formulations that were acceptable to the panelists were the T2 formulation with a composition of 50% corn, 50% tolo beans, 5% Moringa leaves, 5% powdered milk, and 10% granulated sugar. The nutritional value of the tolo bean-based functional drink (T2) is 245,95kcal of energy, 8,57gr of protein, 5,25gr of fat, and 41,1 gr of carbohydrates, and 458,71ppm of phenol content per 250ml. With the addition of 5%, Moringa leaves it produces color, aroma, taste, consistency, and acceptance that is most liked by panelists and resembles a drink without the addition of Moringa leaves. It is necessary to carry out further studies related to microbiological tests on functional drinks made from local food so that they can meet the applicable SNI.

Abstract

Indonesia ranks third as a country with the highest stunting prevalence in Southeast Asia in 2017. Bandar Lampung, is one of the cities with a high prevalence of stunting; and Teluk Betung Selatan Subdistrict is an area with the highest prevalence of stunting in Bandar Lampung. This study aims to analyze the relationship between socioeconomic factors and food security on the incidence of stunting in children under five years. This study is a case-control study, with a case sample of 50 families who have stunted children under five years and the control sample is 50 families who have normal children under five years. The research variables included socioeconomic factors (education and income), food security factors (family food insecurity and food diversity), and the incidence of stunting, which were then analyzed by Chi-Square. The results showed that there was a relationship between socioeconomic factors and family food insecurity to the incidence of stunting. Therefore, stunting control programs need to involve these two factors in the intervention to reduce stunting in children under five years.

Abstract

Globally, the amount of loss due to smoking has been well documented. But smoking among teenagers not only dwells on the problem of physical danger in the form of illness or death but also damages emotions and behavior. The phenomenon of smoking among adolescents takes attention because the future of a nation is determined by the quality of its future generations. This paper focuses on understanding cigarette promotion strategies and juxtaposing them with anti-smoking health promotion strategies with the literature review method. The results show that there are gaps in themes and content where health promotion strategies are considered rigid and have not yet adapted to the development of millennial adolescents. The recommendations given should be that themes and content in health promotion be packaged more interactively and flexibly according to the current era. Incorporating elements of anti-smoking health promotion into the game features will allow health promotion to be more acceptable among teenagers.

Abstract

Pregnant and lactating women are susceptible to viral infections including Covid-19. One of the reasons is low immunity due to hormonal changes during pregnancy and breastfeeding. the Ministry of Health has made guidelines for pregnant women, childbirth, and newborns during the Covid-19 pandemic. The purpose of this study was to describe the implementation of antenatal care services during the Covid-19 Pandemic. This study analysis of this research sample of pregnant women and midwives in the Puskesmas Way Kandis work area which were taken purposively. the study began by conducting interviews with 4 midwives to get an overview of the implementation of antenatal services, then online data collection was carried out on pregnant women, the analysis was carried out with a systems approach theory. Analysis of the implementation of antenatal services during the Covid-19 pandemic was seen from the input factors, namely characteristics, with the results that 86,6% of respondents were of healthy reproductive age and 72,2% were multiparous. Process: midwives conduct home visits to guide pregnant women in studying the MCH handbook. Output factor: the results of the analysis of the knowledge of the mother, 43% have sufficient knowledge, and 35% have less knowledge. The obstacle for midwives is the non-compliance of the community, especially pregnant women and cadres, in implementing protocols when visiting health services. It is recommended that Puskesmas be more intensive in providing education to pregnant women and their families as well as fostering health cadres to comply with the implementation of health protocols.
