Abstract

The role of the family as a caregiver of people living with HIV/AIDS can cause a lot of stress. The purpose of this study was to explore the family burden as a caregiver of people living with HIV/AIDS. This research is qualitative research with a descriptive phenomenology approach. This research was conducted at RSUP H. Adam Malik in Medan City. Participants in this study were 4 family members who care for family members infected with HIV who were taken by purposive sampling technique. Participants' inclusion criteria were ≥17 years of age who were able to speak Indonesian and were able to tell about the burdens experienced while caring for people living with HIV/AIDS. The themes found included psychological burdens, social burdens, family problems, and role conflicts. The research conclusions illustrate that families who are caregivers in carrying out their roles are not easy because they cause psychological burdens, social burdens, economic burdens, family problems, and role conflicts. Nurses can provide nursing interventions to increase caregiver coping to reduce the burden they experience.

Abstract

One of the treatments for acne vulgaris therapy is antibiotics, it can be applied topically and systemically. However, long-term and inappropriate use of antibiotics can increase the incidence of antibiotic drug resistance. Some medicinal plants are known to have antimicrobial properties, one of them is turmeric rhizome. Turmeric rhizome is known to contain essential oils and curcumin so that it can be useful as an antibacterial, antiviral, anti protozoa, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antineoplasm. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the antibacterial turmeric extract against the growth of Propionibacterium acnes. The type of this research is an experimental laboratory with disc diffusion method on Mueller Hinton Agar media. Turmeric extract was obtained from the Laboratory of Organic Chemistry at the University of Lampung with maceration techniques using 96% ethanol. Turmeric rhizome extract is divided into several concentrations namely 15%, 30%, 50%, 75%, and 100%. As negative control is aquades and positive control is clindamycin. Data was obtained based on the result of measurement Diameter of inhibition zone made through paper discs and measured by calipers. The data were analyzed by using One Way ANOVA. The result of this study indicated that the diameter of the inhibits zone at a concentration of 15%, 30%, 50%, 75%, and 100%. Sequentially is 11,35mm, 15,65mm, 17,575mm, 18,85mm, and 20,8mm. in the negative control is 0 mm and positive control is 28,1 mm (score p-value=0,000). There is antibacterial effectiveness of turmeric extract against the growth of Propionibacterium acnes in vitro, but it is no superior compared with clindamycin phosphate.

Abstract

WHO in 2016 still shows the average rate of exclusive breastfeeding (ASI) in the new world is around 38%. In Indonesia, although a large number of women (96%) breastfeed their children in their lifetime, only 42% of babies under 6 months of age are exclusively breastfed. By the time children approach their second birthday, only 55% are still being breastfed. When compared with the WHO target of 50%, this figure is still far from the target. Maximum achievement can be applied by applying nape and marmot massage techniques for postpartum mothers so that breast milk can be released more quickly. This study aims to help and explain the combination of nape and marmet massage techniques to speed up the use of breast milk in postpartum mothers in the working area of Ngaglik II Sleman Health Center. This research is Quasi-Experimental research using quantitative and post-test designs, with a sample of 30 respondents divided into groups given intervention and control groups taken by purposive sampling. Univariate and bivariate data analysis. The results showed that the effect of nape massage combination and guinea pig technique on the acceleration of ASI use based on the Mann Whitney Test statistical test showed results (p-value 0,002)<0,05. The combination of nape massage and marmet technique has an effect on accelerating breastfeeding.

Abstract

Magnesium plays a role in nearly 600 important metabolic and enzymatic reactions in the body. In developing countries, 10-30% of people have a magnesium deficiency. Magnesium deficiency can result in migraines, insomnia, leg cramps, anxiety, arrhythmias, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, etc. Transdermal magnesium supplementation has been shown to be useful as a muscle relaxant in treating leg cramps. Moringa Oleifera Seed Oil contains antioxidants, anti-aging, amino acids, collagen, omega 3,6 and 9, complete vitamins and minerals that are widely used in cosmetics. This experimental study aims to obtain a combination lotion formula of magnesium oil and moringa seed oil that meets the requirements and functions as an intake of magnesium and antioxidants. The data obtained were compared with the standard requirements for topical lotion preparations. The formula is designed with a magnesium chloride concentration of 250 mg / 5 ml, with four concentrations of moringa seed oil F1 (3%), F2 (6%), F3 (9%), and F4 (12%). Based on the results of the study, it was obtained that the dosage data was white, the semi-solid texture was easy to pour with a lavender aroma. All the formulas meet the requirements of pH (5,0-5,5) and some of the formulas meet the requirements of dispersion, specific gravity, viscosity. The Antioxidant activity of all formulas is very weak. Only one formula (F4) meets all the requirements for the lotion preparation.

Abstract

DHF is still a serious problem, especially in children in endemic countries. An estimated 3,6 billion people are at risk and 21,000 deaths each year. Indonesia, in 2018 there were 65,602 cases (IR=24,75 per 100,000 population), with the death of 467 people (CFR=0,71%), and 85.6% of districts in Indonesia reported dengue cases. The climate becomes one of the environmental factors that play a role in the number of cases. Google scholar is used as the main source for finding articles related to DHF and climate published during 2015-2019. The inclusion criteria set forth, are articles that must be published in international journals, published in 2015-2019, must discuss Indonesia, and must assess the effect of climate change on DHF. A total of 52 articles were found, but only 6 articles met the inclusion criteria. Using various analytical methods, all articles obtain climate variability related to the incidence of DHF, through vector abundance. The dynamics of DHF is a very complex system, so it is necessary to combine additional factors other than climate to predict it. The development of an early warning and monitoring system is important, in addition to strengthening the role of households in controlling DHF.

Abstract

Early breastfeeding is an initial key to success in breastfeeding practice where breastmilk is given immediately 3 minutes after birth. Breastfeeding problems can appear, one of them, are caused by certain conditions. For instance, the mother complains on the first day of breast milk production and the ejection of it cannot get out or just a little bit, so it makes a worried the mother in giving breast milk. This is also compounded by the fussy condition of the baby’s which makes mothers think that their breast milk is not enough to fulfill the baby's nutrition. It is no least of mothers who give formula milk to their babies and not to train their babies to suck mother’s nipple. In a worrying condition and lack confidence feeling about insufficient breast milk, a mother needs help and support in producing breast milk. Some of the alternative efforts can be done to increase breast milk production either using pharmacology or non-pharmacology. A way in non-pharmacology is by doing the back rolling massage and acupuncture point GB21. This research was conducted to analyze the influence of back rolling massage and acupuncture point GB21 on breast milk production. The method was a quasi-experiment with pretest-posttest with a control group design; the total sample was 90 post-partum mothers. The result showed there was a significant influence of weight after the research on the three groups (p-value 0,0001). The conclusion that back rolling massage and acupuncture point GB21 give an influence in increasing breast milk production.

Abstract

AIDS which is caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), is a global health crisis, with differentiated cluster 4 (CD4) cells being the main target so that it can affect the high morbidity and mortality rates. This study aimed to determine the determinants that affect CD4 levels in people with HIV/AIDS. The study population was all people with HIV/AIDS in care, support, and treatment (CST) services in Palembang City with a sample size of 118. The sampling technique was carried out using nonrandom, namely purposive sampling. Samples were taken when respondents took antiretroviral (ARV) treatment at a health facility. The research instrument used a structured questionnaire and medical records. To measure the determinant (independent variable) was done by interview, while to determine the CD4 count using data that has been recorded in the Medical Record. The results are the length of treatment was a factor that could reduce the risk of low CD4 levels in people with HIV/AIDS, with p-value=0,006; ORAdj 0,286 (0,117-0,697), whereas stigma and treatment side effects were proven as confounding variables. Increasing the CD4 in people living with HIV/AIDS requires appropriate and regular treatment. Regular treatment with a duration of therapy of more than 1 year has been shown to prevent low CD4 cells. The higher the CD4 cell count in people living with HIV/AIDS, the greater the chance of controlling opportunistic infections, reducing transmission and premature death. People with HIV/AIDS are advised to take regular medication at available health facilities and take medication regularly.
